Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 - Logging out

Allan kept cultivating until he felt it almost time to leave the game.

The game company did say that the game world would only work during 8 P.M. all the way to 8 A.M. But the problem was it was only on the company original country that the time was this good. All other countries had to play at the same time, but the time zones kind of made it quite difficult.

Other country players tried to pressure the company into creating more servers, but the company was adamant in making the time like this. But even with these problems, people would still play it, because the console was quite expensive and not many people could buy it, those who could buy it didn't necessarily need to work.

Allan was one of the few cases where he needed to make money from games to live. All of his friends were like this somewhat, but he managed to make lots of money by doing illegal RMT in games. He had the know how. And know that a huge game was being released and only rich people could play it, RMT would leverage his gameplay a lot.

Those were his thoughts before playing the game though. Now he was fully immersed in cultivation. He was pretty sure he was one of the few players to start cultivating, if not the first. It's just his cultivation technique was quite trash, but he could change it later, the most important part was that he could improve his spiritual root as long as he had monster flesh.

Before leaving the place, Allan grabbed everything from the altar that had some value and packed it inside his spatial bracelet. He kept the bracelet hidden under his clothes sleeves. He didn't want to let people know he had something like that.

He willed and his stats were shown in front of him.

Allan was quite satisfied though. He was glad that he was one of the first to cultivate. He then left logged out a little ahead of the time.

[ If you log out before the end of the day your character will fall unconscious no matter what. People and monsters can still attack you or rob you. Do you with to proceed?]

[[Yes / No]]

Allan closed the door on where he was and logged out.

When waking up he found that tory was still inside the game. "I guess she'll stay to the last minute." Allan thought to himself. He went to the bathroom to take a morning shower. In a few minutes Tory joined him.

"What do you think of the game?" She asked after greeting each other.

"This game is amazing, did you managed to something fun?" Allan asked.

"Yeah, kind of, I died a few times trying to hunt some monsters, but that was it. There was no experience bar nor anything. So it was quite pointless to kill monsters. The few I killed after dying many times I sold to the village and made some coppers." She said. "But it was very annoying to know that I lack the skills to play the game."

"I'll change that for you, my dear. I managed to start cultivating. What you have to do during your next playthrough is to meditate some mental energy. But beware, don't die or you'll lose your mental cultivation." Allan explained.

"What are you talking about?" She asked in a puzzled manner.

"This game is all about cultivation and getting stronger. You might have noticed that in your character sheet, your character must've had spiritual root equals to none right?"

"Yeah" She replied.

"Then I found a cave by chance, when I was running for my life. In this cave there was an inheritance. Some guy named Crazed Monster Hunter created a technique to refine monsters and upgrade the spiritual root." Allan explained. "But since we don't have spiritual energy at all, we have to use our mental energy to do the work for us. And it takes a lot of mental energy. I almost passed out plenty of times. So today in your playthrough try to focus on increasing your mental power."

"Alright. I feel very relaxed, I haven't felt this way in a long time." She said.

"I think the VR helmet puts us in the best state of sleep." Allan said. "In any case, playing the game is very different and fun from anything we've done before."

"Yeah, I was sceptic at first, but it turn out cool."

"Let's eat and meet the others, now that I have this information, it's best if all of us can start cultivating already."

Soon they had breakfast and left their homes to find their friends and discuss their following plans.
