Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - Commitment

When Allan finished speaking, his friends kind of got quiet for a bit. They were taking this too seriously. But it was to be expected. The game was very realistic and playing it was very fun. So they were willing to commit.

"Sure, this will be fun, we can make videos about our HEMA lessons as well and how it'll influence the game in general." Keith said.

Jasper looked at Sheila and she nodded lightly. Then he looked at Allan and said. "I think we can do that. I think in focusing all my energy into this game. The other games are kind of bland now."

"I think the other games are very bland now as well. I played it once and I want to play it again already." Said Tory. "I'm up to learning martial arts if it's gonna help me thrive in this game. Besides, it's a good way to wait for the game to open again."

"The other games are truly bland indeed. Even I am not looking forward playing the other games now. I play them for a while for streaming though and quietly leave them." Said Sasha.

"Perfect. We are going to be the strongest in that world." Allan said. "I have a cultivation technique for each element. From what I gather, cultivating more than one elements is frowned upon because it's a waste of time. So it's best if we can find the element we want to focus now and hunt monsters of that element. Tomorrow I'll teach you guys the cultivation technique. I have to memorize them in that world before bringing it here to the world. I only know the fire one because that was the first one I have learned."

"Deal and we have to start cultivating mental energy right?" Asked Keith.

"To be honest you should, but it's going to be a very boring way of playing the game. So I suggest you do it when you can. I don't want to hinder your streamer career. But it's best if you can raise the soul power all the way to 0.6 before starting to cultivate."

"About learning HEMA should we start today?" Asked Jasper.

"There is no hurry since cultivating will be priority. I think we should take a day off today and prepare to transition our lives towards Parallel Online." Allan said.

Everyone nodded. Then after setting up the plans, they started telling their experiences in the game. About another two hours of chatting, everyone left to do their things.

When Allan and Tory arrived at their home. Allan sat in front of his PC and started searching for forums of the game. He wanted to steal as much information he could. After browsing for a while he didn't find anything worth of much attention. Most players played the game alone and very few made groups, this way information gathering was very hindered.

"Besides, I think no one would reveal their advantages right off the bat." Allan thought to himself.

"Darling, the food arrived." Tory shouted from the living room.

"Found anything useful?" Tory asked when Allan arrived.

"Not really, but I think most players are alone and most of them wouldn't want to reveal their advantages."

"I guess today's meditation is going to be very boring though. I wish I could go hunting monsters right of the bat. I managed to kill one or two because they kind of have some stupid attack patterns."

"There will be time for hunting. And hunting will be our main source of strength. Some monsters can drop a monster core, which is pure spiritual energy condensed. We can either refine them to use as cultivation resource, or we can improve our spiritual root." Allan said.

"Of course, the beginning is just going to be boring though." Tory replied.

"I'm thinking something here. What if we instead of using real weapons and be heavy armored for the training, why don't we make some swords out of pipes and foam. This way we can hit each other without hurting. We can even practice at home."

"Not inside here though. Outside, in the ground park. But I like the idea of the foam swords though. Wearing heavy armor will make me sweaty and smelly." Tory chuckled.

"Alright, I'm gonna buy the stuff later. We can start practicing tomorrow I guess." Allan said. Then in the afternoon he started making some swords using plastic pipes and foams. He make six in total, but he had material to make more. But it was already the end of the night when he finished making the swords, a few minutes away from same start. He took a shower and went to bed, he kissed Tory goodnight, put on his helmet console and joined the game.

He started right after were he was, but he was lying on the floor instead. "It seems I must have fallen asleep here since I logged off a few minutes earlier." He thought. "It doesn't matter, I'll just start cultivating and become the strongest." Allan then immersed himself in cultivation.
