A/N
Quick note, this will be the first time I'm writing a fanfic, EVER. The pacing will be shit, characters will be off, and I'm writing this as I go, so plot holes are bound to pop up.
I really want to improve and make this story good, as I have never seen a fanfic with this premise, so give me some tips and corrections from time to time.
This chapter will just be how sans gets to gensokyo.
P.S. a little encouragement goes a long way.

Mt Ebott 20XX
Echoes of clashing reverberate throughout Judgement Hall. If one were to investigate the source of the sounds, they would find a human and a monster, in the midst of a heated battle for the fate of the underground. The monster is a vague depiction of a cartoon skeleton, wearing a broad smile on his face. Though it doesn't take more than a glance to see that he is NOT happy.
The human can be described as a small, shorts wearing child in a striped shirt and an orange manly bandana. And although they are but a child, the aura they emit is that of something else, something not human.
Both fighters are moving at a feverish pace, the skeleton dodging every attack while spawning and manipulating bone structures to assault the human. Most would be in shock at this were the human not bobbing and weaving through each attack with a practiced gait, only gaining the occasional scratch.
The Human is gaining ground, and sweat drops are starting to fall down the skeletons face. But with a blue flash, the humans soul turns dark blue before flying away, taking them with it.
BOOM
Crashing into a pillar the human, known as frisk, stood from their man made crater before vanishing with a crimson glow. Red after images start surrounding the skeleton, and began slowly closing in.
The skeleton's eye sockets widen before flashing blue. Just barely able to trace her movements, he conjured a dense cage of bones around himself. Just as he does, the human reappears behind him and whips her arm, releasing a devastating slash that tore up the ground as it went.
Upon contact with the skeletons makeshift shield, a deafening explosion rings out alongside a resounding crack. As the human follows up, she quickly realizes that the skeleton is no longer inside.
Once again, the humans soul turns blue, and she is pressed to the ground with an incomprehensible amount of force.
Vreeooww
When the air above starts to glow a bright light blue, her eyes widen in realization.
She looks up to see dozens of dragon-like skulls charging up projectiles, with the blue jacketed skeleton standing atop one of them. His smile widens slightly, before waving his hand, and all the beams fire simultaneously.
Flexing her DETERMINATION, she burns off the blue magic with her own soul power and barely escapes the attack. She was still hit with the blast, but it was better than direct contact.
When the smoke cleared, she glanced at her HP
66.
'it'll have to do.' she mumbles to herself. Then, almost on instinct, she back steps multiple meters as a bone the size of a pillar stabs into where she was. Looking up she can see countless bones of the same size. Clicking her tongue, frisk mutters to herself, "This parts always annoying." Before leaping directly into the fray.
Briefly landing on a bone, her eyes flash red, and she starts erratically leaping between attacks like lightning, leaving a crimson trail in her wake. The skeleton watches the sight, before sighing, he wanted to catch his breath a little bit. Suddenly, he teleports away as the ground he was standing on was stabbed with a knife. Her weapon plunged into the ground, the surrounding air started to hum with red energy, before exploding.
The skeleton, who was just barely out of range, and also out of breath, started talking to buy some time.
"You uh... Really like swinging that thing around huh?"
The human merely looked in his direction.
"Y'know, we could just take a seat and talk it out. I know you love your knives and all, but there are other ways to get your point across."
The human dashes towards him, although, noticeably slower than before.
'tough crowd huh?' the skeleton mumbles to himself, noting how damaged she is, before meeting the humans attack with two crossed bones. The two clashed briefly before Sans forced her away. "I'm getting real sick of this." He proclaimed.
Once again using his blue magic, he forced the airborne human into the ground. Frisk, who was also fatigued, could barely even sit up before a massive bone rose from the ground, punting her into the air.
As she flew through the air helplessly, she saw herself surrounded by blasters.
"You're done." Sans stated.
Frisk then went into bullet time. She was put in a bad spot, and had low HP, 32, to be exact. As she observed her situation, she concluded that her current gear wouldn't negate enough damage. But what about other equipment?
She grits her teeth, and with a quick manipulation of her menu, forsakes the bandana and equips an accessory she had neglected to put on before the fight, a golden heart shaped locket. That's the last thing she does before her vision turns white, and a searing pain envelopes her.
As the dust begins to clear, the skeleton closes his eyes and breathes out a sigh of relief. He won this time as well. While the kid will obviously be back, it usually takes a while for them to reset. So he's decided to take this time to go to grillbyz-

The human now stands behind the skeleton, who has a gaping slash wound across his chest.
The human has several burn marks all across her body, and her HP is sitting at exactly 1.
Sans falls to his knees. Seems like he let his guard down. The disappointment was swirling in his chest. He actually lost huh? As he ran his hand over the wound in his ribcage, he thought back to the beginning of all this. The clear signs of a maniac, the disappearances, the time-space fluctuations,
His brother.
Throughout all of it, he knew what was going on, and yet he did nothing. 'If it was all going to be reset, why even bother?' He gave up before he even began. Yet when he saw the remnants of his brother, his dust spread in the snow indistinguishably, all of that went out the window. And now all that's left is the guilt of his inaction.
His silly attempts at manipulating the human into taking another path has only ended in his death. His half-assed attempts to shake her DETERMINATION had been for naught. Even though it's all gonna be reset, the sour feeling remains. The fact is, that he should have killed her a long time ago. And now his complacency has costed the entire underground.
...
That's something he can't allow to happen.
His brother, his friends, and himself. Humanity is probably next. What kind of scumbag would he be if this is where he let it end? This is partially his fault, so is he really gonna let all those people die because of his mistake again?
All of this happened because he threw in the towel early. So let's flip the script.
The JUSTICE in his soul flared brightly, flooding his bones with just enough DETERMINATION to resist death.
Sans heaves one last time, ignoring the feeling of his bones melting. Monsters and DT don't mix well huh? His left eye started flickering back to life, and he raises his hand. Believing in his aim, he conjures a single small bone at his finger tips. that's all that's required, and all he can do.
With the rest of his will power, which admittedly there ain't a lot of, he shoots off the bone with mighty force. It draws a beautiful arc, and just before the human reaches their save point, they turn around and are stabbed in the chest.
With her last HP claimed, sans falls onto his stomach, aggravating his wound, but he doesn't care.
He did it. He gave it his all, and he did it. And now, the loops will continue. Over and over. Sans wasn't a fool, if his attempts to make the human turn back failed, he would fall eventually. But he doesn't feel too bad about it. He refused to go silently into the night. If anything, he'd take frisk with him.
And so, on the verge of death, he made a vow. He vowed to live. He vowed to try. He vowed to stay DETERMINED, until his last breath.
And as he laid on the ground, eyes closed, and waiting for his time to run out, something strange happened. Space distorted beneath him, and a tear in reality opened. A gap with dozens of eyes inside appeared and started to suck him in. Had he been in a more lucid state, sans would have noticed. But he just associated the sensation of falling with that of death, and fell asleep.
It would take him a while to wake up and realize that he was still alive, and no longer in the underground. All the while wondering why he never heard the humans soul shatter.
"My," A suspicious blonde woman walks out from behind a pillar and smiles mischievously, "We can't have you dying after I just found you, can we?"
The mysterious blond women walks forward, and holds the humans cracked soul. They should have died already, but the border between life and death is a rather simple thing to manipulate for someone like her.
Having remembered something interesting she read on her tour through the underground, she opened a gap, and took out the skeletons soul. It was much more cracked than the humans, but that wouldn't matter.
"I have an idea for you two..."
"Time for a little project. I hope he won't mind.~"
