Chapter 41 - New home. - Part2

Arthur wanted to say something more, but before he could say anything his vision went completely dark, the next moment he felt a screaming headache that prevented him from opening his eyes for several seconds, and only after a minute or so had passed did he manage to open his eyes and look at his surroundings. When he opened his eyes, he was forced to close them again, as he was greeted with a bit of sunlight on them, waiting a few seconds and tilting his head Arthur managed to open his eyes without any problems; the first thing he saw when he opened his eyes was a shelf with several books and dolls that seemed to be collectibles, he was momentarily stunned before sitting up and looking around, he didn't know the place he was in, it was a room with the walls painted navy blue without any specific decoration such as pictures or posters, there was also a television of about fifty inches attached to a home rack, in addition there were some consoles on the home rack as well and next to the home rack was a desk with a notebook on it, Arthur also noticed a black wardrobe with a door at the end made of glass. After looking around the room Arthur turned around and saw that the light that had stunned him earlier came from the sunlight, as the window was open, looking out of the window Arthur could see a large garden and even a small artificial lake, but what caught his eye was that the sun was setting at the moment, although it wasn't as beautiful as the sunset he had witnessed in Samantha's memories he still enjoyed admiring it, and watched it for more than two minutes before turning back to the room again.

Arthur got up and approached the bookcase, looking at it he noticed that there weren't just textbooks, although there were several of them there were also some comics and fairytale books, which pleasantly surprised him, he then turned around and walked around the room looking at the furniture more closely, he also noticed that there were two doors in his room, one was closed, while the other was open, Arthur decided to look at the one that was open first and realized that it was a bathroom, looking at the bathroom Arthur was surprised, because there was even a bathtub, and this was just a bathroom connected to a bedroom. 'I don't know where I am, but the people who live here are very rich,' Arthur thought as he left the bathroom and closed the door.

Arthur looked around the room once more and found a note on the desk, he hadn't seen it before as more than half of the note was under the laptop, unfolding the note Arthur read it aloud. - Little Arthur, I had to leave due to an emergency, I'm sorry to leave you alone, but Clare should be arriving soon with her sister so just spend the time exploring the house or enjoying your new room. Katarina. - Arthur looked at the note in a trance after reading it and remained still for several seconds, then he walked over to his bed and sat in contemplation, until he remembered what Samantha had said to him before sending it back. - So she already knew... - Arthur shook his head and walked over to the closed door.

- Since this is going to be my new home, I suppose I could go and meet her. - Arthur then grasped the handle and pulled the door open.

Arthur opened the door to his room and found himself in a corridor. In this corridor there were three more doors just like the one in his room, one next to his room and the other two on the other side of the corridor. He turned to his left and walked to the door that was next to his own. Opening the door, he saw a room that was just as spacious as his own, the decor was also very similar, only there wasn't an instant full of collectible dolls, instead there were some books like his own bookcase and dolls, the bookcase was a little smaller than the one in his room, as there was a motorized wheelchair next to the bed, the walls were also different colors, while the walls in his room were navy blue, the walls in this room were flamingo pink, Arthur went to the bathroom out of curiosity, and saw that both bathrooms were identical, looking at the room a little more and then staring at the wheelchair he let a slight smile appear on his face without realizing it, after admiring the room that he was almost certain was his sister's he turned and left.

Arthur was happy to see Sophie's room, and walked to the room that was right opposite his sister's; opening the door, he could see a huge double bed like the ones in both his and his sister's rooms, but the decoration differed a little, if he had to put it into words it looked simpler, the walls were also painted blue, not navy, but blue cyan, the furniture was the same, except for the decorations like the toys, no, the bookcase itself wasn't in the room either, while he also had a television, there were no consoles like in the other two rooms and the desk had a computer instead of a notebook. Looking around, Arthur didn't see anything that caught his eye, and as he believed that the bathroom was the same as the other rooms, he simply opened the door and walked out, looking at the other door which was the same as the room he had just seen, with the exception of not having a television, he decided not to go in to look at the room and simply closed the door. Arthur then turned to his left and headed down the corridor.

After he had left the corridor, Arthur saw that there were only two doors, one on the right and one on the left; the one on the right was open and he could see a part that looked like a training studio, he passed through there quickly and went to the door on his left, he tried to push the door as he had done with all the others, however, this time the door was locked, and with that Arthur could only give up, he then looked at the stairs next to the door and decided to go down to the first floor.

As he descended the curving staircase, he realized that the middle tube was probably for an elevator, and remembering his sister he couldn't help but let a smile bloom on his face again. After descending he came across a corridor again, there wasn't much to observe in the corridor like the one on the previous floor, with the exception of some pictures with names at the bottom, looking at the first pictures he saw some middle-aged men, and he rarely saw women, although the corridor was small there were some pictures on the wall, there were around eight pictures, Arthur observed them all although he didn't focus too much on their appearances, but he read all their names out loud as he passed through the corridor.

- Jonathan Leken, Fred. Leken, Raul Leken, Alexandre Leken, Victória Leken, Alfonso Leken, Olivia Leken and Clare Leken. - When Arthur saw the last name, he looked straight at the picture just out of curiosity, but when he saw Clare's appearance, he stood there staring at the figure, not knowing how to react. Clare was in a military uniform, just like in all the previous pictures, the uniform was very similar to the one he had seen before, her light brown eyes and her brown hair reminded Arthur of the same woman, the difference being that the woman had red hair and her eyes were purple, but apart from that she was identical to the woman he had seen fighting Cocabiel.

As Arthur stood staring at the painting, a lively voice suddenly sounded in his ears. - Hello, my name is Maria, are you Arthur?

Arthur was surprised by the sudden voice, and turned his face towards the end of the corridor as he took a step back; looking towards the end of the corridor he saw a woman who appeared to be in her thirties at forties, Maria had blonde hair and her eyes were brown, Arthur was a little startled by the sudden call, but despite being a little frightened he quickly calmed down and answered her. - Yes, my name is Arthur.

- Nice to meet you, I'm going to look after you for a while. - Maria said with a smile on her face.

- Mn? - Arthur looked at her questioningly, which made her smile even more at the stunned expression on the child's face.

- Your mother fired me from the army to become your teacher, so I'm going to give you private lessons for a while. - She said in a relaxed way while directing her attention to Clare's picture on the wall. After looking at Clare's picture for a few seconds, she smiled at Arthur and spoke. - She doesn't even look like an army general, who can sack her right hand to make her a teacher? - Maria complained, but there was no discontent in her voice, and when Arthur looked at her face, he saw no sign of anger or displeasure.

Noticing that Arthur didn't say anything, Maria turned her gaze from the painting to him. Seeing him staring at her, she smiled and asked. - Are you mute? No, you answered me before, so... Mn, maybe shy?

- What?" Arthur asked without understanding the situation, let alone Maria's question.

- Mn... Never mind, I've been told I talk a bit fast, so... Do you want to ask me something?

Arthur looked at her, and her expression changed from one of confusion to one of concern as he thought about what it would be like to have lessons with her. - Er... Mn, Maria. - Arthur said after imagining her giving him various lectures.

- Yes

- Well, what exactly are you going to teach me? - Arthur asked a little apprehensively.

- Mn... I think I can sum it up as Everything. - Maria replied with her arms crossed while tapping the index finger of her right hand on her left elbow.

- ...Everything? - Arthur looked at her in disbelief, he couldn't even imagine how can be learning everything from her.

- Not literally everything, after all, you're still going to school. - Maria said, to which Arthur felt reassured and had to stop himself from sighing. However, before Arthur could feel happy about the news, she continued. - But since Clare doesn't trust the school, I'm going to teach you everything to do with combat and survival.

- I already have a teacher to teach me how to fight. - Arthur said hoping she would give up teaching him.

- I know, in fact few people don't know, you burnt down half the schoolyard while talking to your "private teacher", Clare had to cancel the whole regiment's training. - Maria said before sighing, she shook her head negatively and looked at Arthur. - Sigh, I know I don't look like the ideal teacher Arthur, but you don't have to worry, after all, your mother wouldn't make me do this if I wasn't good enough for the job. - Maria could tell from Arthur's apology that he was unhappy with her being his teacher, normally she would just let the idiot off, but since it was Clare's order, she couldn't just ignore Arthur.

- But it's true that I have a teacher, and she's pretty strict too... - Arthur said with a frown as he thought. 'Even if you're a good teacher, I don't want to take any more classes, the training is already shit...' Hard enough, and I'll still have to go to school, if I have any more training...'.

- I know, I know, Kat said that at the beginning too, but my training helped in the end~ - Maria said with a teasing tone as she turned towards the corridor and started walking. - Come on, your sister should be here soon. - Maria said as she turned to her left and disappeared from Arthur's sight.

- My sister? - Arthur asked in surprise.

- Of course, did you think only you had been adopted? Clare even installed an elevator to the second floor. - Maria's voice sounded, as she seemed to be moving away.

"This is already the second chapter where the last paragraph has disappeared when viewed on cell phones. To avoid this, I've decided to duplicate this message at the end of each chapter, hoping it will resolve the issue. If you're reading this, I apologize if it's intrusive, but it's a better solution than leaving the chapter incomplete."
