"What we were before?" Kristie asked as if she knew nothing. Her smile had faded.
Barbara's eyebrows curved downward. 'Right? Their relationship before was not considered friendship, they were like business partners. Nothing more. Besides, did she want to say since they were not that close, she would not have to apologize?'
The three women assembled at the workplace, where Kate proceeded to explain how to fix the short dress. Despite this, Barbara and Kristie struggled to comprehend most of Kate's instructions. However, the radiant glow in her hazel eyes instilled a sense of trust within them.
"Since the matter was solved, I will go," Kristie said, standing up.
Barbara stood too. "I will go buy some sweets and bread for you," she stated.
"Lady Kristie, you stay and I will go to buy them," Kate suggested.
