"So, is it or not?"
The fierce lady pressed on for an answer while her hand moved threateningly close to David's face.
"It is."
David decided to go with the flow as the naked threat of pulsating electricity trickled through his skin.
A sigh of relief escaped his mouth as the hand moved away from his face and the woman retreated a step.
Rubbing his cheek, David looked at her.
Cold green eyes were directly staring into his eyes while her lips parted and an equally cold voice came out.
"Now kid, be a good boy and hand over that knife. Those things aren't suited for a kid's hand."
His eyebrows raised at that comment.
"Seriously, I'm 19 years old and don't look that young to be called a kid. Or maybe you are just much older than you look."
Veins popped up on the woman's forehead hearing David's reply.
"Your sensing ability won't do me even a scratch. So just give that knife instead of yapping out loud."
The woman snorted but in the next moment, thin tendrils of electricity started appearing around her arm again.
"If you have some brain, you would have behaved more appropriately after seeing my ability for the first time."
This time, her voice was colder than before and David got that her patience was running low.
'Do I have any choice?' David thought as he looked around in their surroundings.
The area around them started filling with suspicious individuals who were constantly keeping an eye on them after arriving there.
Even with the scorching heat of summer, a guy with a black hoodie with headphones around his neck and a black mask covering his face was staring right at them for quite a long time.
Another man wearing skin-tight sportswear and a bright red headband was leaning against the wall while constantly looking at them from time to time.
Their faces changed upon seeing the electricity covering the gal's hand but still decided to stay and watch the whole show in front of them.
Sighing, David extended his hand to part away from the knife.
Grinning, the woman took hold of the weapon with unnatural swiftness.
After examining it, she took a U-turn and started walking her way.
Seeing her back, David once again sighed and also walked away.
The two individuals watching still didn't move from their respective positions and just stared at David hopping on his bike and driving away.
******
"Huh, there are no more things like that around my neighborhood."
Sighing for God-know how many times, David reached his home and parked the bike inside the garage.
Taking off the helmet, he stretched his neck out and started walking for the house's front door.
"Man, the other item like that had to drop off on the other side of the city."
He said while looking at his phone, finding more idiots that are throwing things of their summons into the garbage of this world.
"Huh, just my luck, encountering a bitc…"
His mumbling was cut open by a growling sound that came behind his back.
Tracing back to the source, a dog with its mouth wide open greeted his sight, jumping right onto his face.
By reflex he jumped to the side, barely dodging the dog's bite.
The momentum of the dog was so great that it lodged right into the wooden gate and punctured it.
"Holy shit"
David exclaimed while watching the dog struggle to get out of the door it got itself plunged in.
It pushed the door with its hind legs, making the door clatter but force wasn't enough to make itself free.
In desperation, the dog started throwing its limbs all around in the air.
"The heck"
Still finding the situation unbelievable, David continued to blink for some time before one of the limbs of the damn dog came dangerously close to his face, making him jump back.
After regaining his senses, he holds his helmet in a tight grip before smashing at the dog's back after seeing the door start covering in cracks.
Fearing that the dog would again attack after freeing itself, David started violently thrashing the helmet onto the dog.
'Fuck, it's not like I can run away. This damn dog had to lodge itself right into my house's front gate.'
But his efforts aren't that productive as the dog gets angry and starts throwing his limbs more fiercely in the hope to hit David.
After being unable to take the dog's countered attacks, David had to stop and make a safe distance from it.
"Fuck, I'd get rabies I got attached by those claws. This dog definitely looked like it had gone mad."
Finding himself powerless, David started searching for another option when his eyes landed on the dog's nether region.
'Hitting that region would either be enough for it to go silent or chase me until the world ends to make me silent.'
Thinking such lines, David steeled himself and waited for an opening to practically try his dark thoughts.
And the opportunity came and the helmet zoomed to its target with great momentum.
'I feel you bro, but you shouldn't have gone for my head first.'
Bang-
Awoooooooo-
A pained animal voice filled the area after the deed was done.
The limbs of the dog came to a halt while its body shuddered in the after-impact.
The next moment a yellow discharge was released by the dog.
"Ewww!"
Distancing himself, David watched the dog through its full release.
Its pained voice was still ringing in the surroundings.
"Should I hit it again from him to go silent?"
David commented to himself while looking at the cracked mirror of the helmet.
And as if replying to his comment, a voice rang inside his mind.
'Yes, you should put an end to what you have started.'
The voice felt strangely similar to his own but didn't have an ounce of emotion in the tone.
But a single sentence was enough for him to fall into a dazed state, succumbing to the command of the voice.
His hand holding the helmet moved and again targeted the same spot.
Bang-
This time the door couldn't hold the impact and crumbled into pieces.
The howling of the dog stopped as soon as the second attack landed while pieces of glass from the helmet littered on the ground, covered in blood.
David's emotionless eyes regained their brightness and the mind's gear churned to understand what just happened.
"What the hell!"
