Exact Location: The Sweepers Organization.
"You know, you picked the worst of places to say your prayers," Liam said to Thomas who was kneeling with his hands clasped in front of him and his eyes shut.
"What's wrong with here?" The dark-haired man asked with his eyes still shut.
Liam furrowed. "This is a restroom, who picks a restroom to pray?"
"The Greyes are everywhere, even in a cemetery, as long as you pray, they'll hear."
The teal green-eyed man fixed his belt while looking up at his scattered hair. He hissed before straightening his hair. He wore a black tracksuit-like outfit that covered from his neck down to his ankle, it was a heat regulating suit.
The HRS suit is a tracksuit-like clothe the Sweepers wear underneath their Bio-suit to help regulate the heat absorbed by the Bio-suit from the surroundings inside the Forbidden Zone.
"Whatever," he chipped.
Thomas stood up and began wearing the Heat Regulating Suit (HRS suit).
"And yet Zara would say I'm the one causing the delay," he shook his head. "Speaking of Zara, where is she?"
"I'm right here."
Liam turned to see the arctic blue-haired lady standing by the entrance of the room. She had a turtle neck on and thick-framed glasses over her eyes. He walked up to her with his brows furrowed. "What's with the glasses?"
"I err… I got injured while hiking with my fiancé. It looks terrible hence the glasses," he explained.
"Your fiancé, of course." He shook his head and started towards the exit. "I'll be at the Protection Wall, don't keep us waiting."
Thomas walked up to Zara and turned her to face him. "What are you doing?" She asked, taking a step back. The dark-haired man grabbed her hand and pulled her closer before removing the glasses from her face.
"Who did this to you?"
The arctic blue-haired lady unhanded herself from her comrade and turned to look at her face in the mirror. Her left eye was red and the area around it had swollen. She sniffled and tucked back a stray hair. "I told you, I went hiking with my..." Her words trailed off as Thomas pulled down the neck of her turtle neck, revealing more bruises. He then looked up at her with a frown. "What? Is this still hiking?"
Zara shut her eyes, trying to hold back a pool of tears that was starting to form in her eyes. "Tom… I…" she stuttered.
"Tell me what happened."
She inhaled deeply before speaking. "It's… it's Mac."
"He did this to you?"
She nodded.
----
Mac held the arctic blue-haired lady by the waist as they entered into the former's apartment. He shuts the door before walking to the fridge to take out a bottle of wine. "Do you want some?"
"No, I'm fine."
"Are you sure? I read somewhere that having a drink before can boost the pleasure and the time lasted."
She forced a smile on her face before turning to change into more comfortable clothing. Mac held a smile on his face as he leaned on the fridge, watching her take off her clothes.
He gulped down his drink before stepping behind her to help her out of the clothes. "Let me help you." He leaned in and planted a kiss on her neck. "You're so beautiful."
He leaned in for another kiss but the arctic blue-haired lady stepped away.
Mac's face turned into a frown. "What are you doing?"
She raised her head and looked into her fiancé's eyes, mustering up the courage to speak. "Mac, I'm not sure I want this anymore."
The vanilla-haired man's frown became even clearer. He stayed quiet for a while before speaking. "What are you saying?"
"I'm saying I don't think this is going to work, us as a couple, I don't want it…" before she could finish her words, Mac smacked her across the face, causing her to stagger backward. He then grabbed her by the shoulder and hurled her across the room, crashing into a table.
Mac used his hand to push back his hair before turning to punch the wall behind him while letting out a shout. He inhaled and exhaled multiple times but it didn't control his hyperventilation. He yelled and punched the walk again before turning to face Zara who was still struggling to lean her back on the wall.
"Do you have any idea how much I have invested in this relationship? Are you saying this because of that Grayson kid? Or the older one?"
"M-Mac…" she stuttered.
The vanilla-haired man walked up to her and curbed in front of her. "Let me explain the situation of things to you; my real name is Michael Nancy," he revealed.
Zara looked up at him in shock, causing him to nod his head. "That's right, I am the third son of Nancy Pharmaceutical and Forensics."
"My father owns the company and he feels he is about to die, so he is looking for who to pass the responsibility to amongst his children," he continued.
"He laid out three criteria to fulfill if we want to succeed his throne, one, have to have worked in the company for at least five hundred years, be his legitimate child, and for some reason, he wants the next chairman to have a partner… that's where you come in Zara."
The arctic blue-haired lady could only stare at her fiancé as she consumed the information he fed her.
"I needed to find someone so badly and you happen to be at our hospital on that day, and things led up to this moment. It was all supposed to be until I took over the business, but I must admit I did actually start feeling something for you," he chuckled.
He stood up and poured himself another drink before sitting on a nearby chair.
"Do you think telling me who you are will make me change my mind?" Zara asked.
The vanilla-haired man threw his head back and laughed. "You seem to be forgetting where your mother is receiving treatment."
He leaned forward and grinned. "Yes, Nancy Clinic."
He dropped the cup he was holding and walked up to Zara. He sat next to her and tucked a stray hair behind her ear to reveal her injured eye. "You still look beautiful despite the scars," he smiled and caressed the wound, causing her to wince. "Your mother will continue to receive her treatment as long as you stay as my fiancée, perhaps even wife."
"I'll allow you to head to the organization tomorrow and get your things, I don't have to tell you what will happen if you try to run away, do I?"
----
"Why don't you report to the Heavenly Protectors…"
"I would have…" Zara chipped. "Until he told me who he was, they'd ignore my complaint."
Thomas pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "I'm gonna kill him."
The arctic blue-haired girl turned to him with a frown. "This is my problem, I'm going to deal with it myself, do not drag yourself into my mess."
"Why did you keep up with him for this long?" The dark-skinned man queried. "This isn't the first time he is doing this."
Zara paused for a moment before replying. "Until recently, he was nice, and I actually do like him. Whenever he gets mad or yells at me, or even hit me, I just took it as how he shows his love, I was stupid."
Thomas sighed. "So you are leaving?"
"No, I'm joining the operation, I need to get enough chips to transfer my mom to another hospital."
"If you need any help, I'll be here."
"Thank you, Tom," she smiled.
