Chereads / Grey Fortune / Chapter 21 - Identity

Chapter 21 - Identity

Willow was utterly confused. She was sure she vividly saw the teal green-eyed man stay more than half a minute without his helmet while fixing Zara's and yet he still breathes when the records say an individual will barely survive past ten seconds inside the Forbidden Zone without a Bio-suit.

"You…" she paused again, unable to find the words to use.

The teal green-eyed man stood up and slowly approached Willow. The screech, roars, and thunderstorms continued around them.

"What just happened?" She finally completed a sentence, making Liam the speechless one.

Liam glanced at the bodies behind him and then back at Willow who continued to stare at him speechlessly.

"Let's get them to help, I'll explain everything later, I promise." Before she could reply, a loud screech drew their attention, causing the two to turn in the direction.

A giant rat-looking creature with bat-like wings stood a few meters away from them, sizing the duo up. It had long bloodied claws and its fangs dripped with a mixture of saliva and blood. Its eyes were bright red and it exuded rage and thirst for more blood.

Liam quickly stepped in front of the brunette. He took off his helmet and put his right hand up. He stared into the creature's eyes for a long while before its eyes turned to the color of Liam's and it retreated. He let out a hefty sigh before putting his helmet back on and turned to face Willow who was even more confused. "The fuck just happened?"

"I promise I'll explain everything later, let's get out of here first…" Liam stopped and zipped closer to the brunette. He grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the way, just in time to avoid a shiny silver sickle-like blade that swung past the back of her neck.

He moved her to a safe area before quickly making his battle stance with his fist up. Willow also aimed her blaster forward. All they could see was multiple silver sickle-like blade glistering ahead of them.

● Graviton

Exact Location: The Star Lord's Villa.

Zephyr took a corner to his father's chambers but froze in his tracks as he noticed a squad of Heavenly Protectors guarding the entire hallway. His brows shifted close together as he took some steps forward, trying to comprehend what was happening. He reached the entrance to the chamber but his path was blocked by two guards.

The white-haired man narrowed his eyes at them before raising a brow. "Out of my way," was all he said, but the two didn't budge.

"I apologize, but we've received direct orders from the Star Lord not to allow anyone into the chambers, not even you, sir."

Zephyr scoffed and slipped his hand into his pocket. "I won't say it a second time."

The two Heavenly Protectors glanced at each other before stepping aside. The white-haired man held the doorknob to push it open but stopped as his name rent the hall.

He turned to see his father standing some meters away. He wore a green robe that covered his entire body including his feet. "Didn't you hear the orders?" Asked Jasper.

The white-haired Grey Lander let go of the knob and took a step back.

"Father, why have you put all these guards here?" Zephyr asked.

"I don't see why I…" his voice came out a bit too high pitched, causing him to stop and clear his throat. He then held his hand behind his back before speaking again, this time with the right pitch. "I don't see why I have to explain myself to you."

The white-haired man narrowed his eyes. "Right, there's something I wish to speak to you about, father… it's about the Heavenly Protectors you've sent to Satellite."

"'The Other Worlders ambushed the troops before they could make it out of Graviton'" Jasper mentioned. "Atlas told me all about it already." He revealed.

"I see," Zephyr replied.

"And I need to speak to you about just that, I was going to call a meeting about it, but just the two of us is fine--- come, walk with me."

Zephyr furrowed at the words of his father before walking up to the latter to walk side by side with him. "This, Other Worlders… for how long have they been terrorizing my planet?"

"Since their arrival."

"Then I must have been a little too lax about the situation if they are still terrorizing till today," he said. "I believe it's time you put an end to them."

Zephyr turned to his father. "'You'?" He repeated.

Jasper nodded. "I want you to ride out with the remaining Heavenly Protectors and the Generals."

"Father?!"

"Do you think being a ruler is as easy? Well let me tell you how things were during the Redmond era," he started. "I don't just sit around, paint my nails, and grow my hair while waiting for my father to pass on the throne to me…"

"… I had seven other siblings, and it was always competition between us… we had to prove we deserve the throne to our father, not only in politics but also during wars with terrorists and other planets, now it's time for you to prove you deserve the throne to me," he continued. "You will leave the villa along with the Generals and will not return until the Other Worlders have been annihilated, do you understand me?"

Zephyr clenched his fist as he stared at his father. "Yes… father."

Jasper hummed. "I want you all gone before nightfall, I'll have the necessary arrangements prepared for the fight that awaits you," he added before walking away.

The Star Lord periodically glanced back as he walked away from his son. His pace picked up the moment he strayed clear from Zephyr's sight. He continued at that pace until he arrived at a door. Jasper planted three soft knocks on the door before entering the room.

The room was similar to that of the Star Lord but with much less fancy furniture. Aeson, the Star-blood child of the Star Lord sat on a chair with his mother sitting next to him, her entire body still completely covered.

They stared at each other for a while until the ash-haired boy stood up on his feet and walked a few steps closer to the Star-Lord. "So? How did it go?" He questioned.

Jasper stayed still before smiling. "It was perfect, everything worked out just as we planned it." He moved his hand to his wrist and twisted the head of a watch he had on.

The Star Lord's body glitched and disappeared, turning into Atlas Finn who held a wide smile on his face. "And I must say, this is such an interesting device you have." He removed the watch and handed it over to the Star-blood.

Aeson smiled. "I had enough time and experts to make it while at the temple."

The dark-haired man nodded before turning his attention to the dark-eyed woman. "Lady Aurora, your story about the Star Lord's seven siblings seemed to have worked perfectly, Zephyr wouldn't be here by tomorrow, the villa will be ours."

She stood up and strolled to a nearby window. "It wouldn't have been possible without your help," she said, her voice calm and soothing, sending chills through Atlas's body. She veered around to face the two. "It's time to prepare for the Gravity Fall."

He grinned and bowed. "I'll start the preparation immediately."
