While others were taken to the cell, Mr Edison was taken to meet with the governor. The governor welcomed Edison into his house and entertained him with light refreshments
"I always knew there was more to your wealth than rubbers and cocoas" the governor said.
"Mr Governor, I have no idea what you're talking about" Edison replied. The governor smiled and said
"Edison! Edison!! Hard drug were discovered in your truck and you want to act as if is a surprise, it just appeared there and you don't know how it got there. Is that what you're telling me?" Edison was speechless for a few seconds he then gulped down saliva and said
"Mr Governor, I don't know how the hard drugs got into the truck and I can assure you the Gonzales Plantation doesn't mine hard drugs". They kept talking and talking and talking, Edison happened to bribe the governor with money and all claims and allegations of hard drugs were shifted to Miguel and the staff involved in that delivery. Both Miguel and the staff were all placed under arrest and Edison was released.
Miguel tried to reach out to Mr Edison and the Gonzales family but he didn't get any reply from them as if they had abandoned him. Even the other staff as well who were promised promotion and a lot of money tried to reach out to Emilia but they didn't get any reply as if they had been abandoned.
Back at the Gonzales Mansion Edison was furious! And was shouting at Emilia, Beatrice and Selene for cooking up a plan that didn't just costed him his business but almost cost him his life
"If I didn't had my way around all these I'ld have spent the rest of my days in jail" Edison said. Emilia replied her father and said
"But father you know this is all your fault if you had just listened to me when I said I didn't want to marry Miguel non of this would have happened" While they we're still arguing grandma walk close to the room and was listening to their conversation. Edison raised his voice as if he wanted to reap open the roof
"Miguel!!!! Miguel is in jail and I would've been too if I didn't disassociate myself from the crime" when grandma heard this she was sad
"Miguel? What happened to my boy Miguel?" Grandma ask. They all kept quiet as if they didn't hear her question, immediately Edison stormed out of the room aggressively! Grandma was caught up in emotion and started to cry and she said
"Beatrice I know you did this, you're a witch in human clothing" Beatrice sighed and said
"Oh please mother-in-law I only did what was necessary for this family" grandma was furious to hear that. She then replied in anger
"How is this necessary! What about Abigail?" Emilia surprised by Grandma's question she replied
"Grandma, Abigail still has me" grandma turned to Emilia and said
"You're all witches, and Beatrice you just keep corrupting your daughter" she said this and walked away
The next day in cell all the staff including Miguel were to be sentenced to life-imprisonment without any trial, especially because Miguel and all the staff didn't have much money and couldn't afford a lawyer and the governor commanded that no lawyer should be given to them for free. But while he thought everything was over and this was the end of the road for Miguel Bar Julius an old friend of Miguel's father who happened to be the one in charge of Miguel's indefinite sentence noticed Miguel's surname and recognized him as his old friends little boy, turns out there's truly a light at the end of the tunnel.
The governor didn't want to honor Julius' wish but Julius then insisted that Miguel's case should be carried to court and he will stand as Miguel's attorney free of charge. The governor then agreed to Julius' wish and that Miguel should be tried in a court and if found guilty will be sentenced based on the accorded criminal act he is found guilty of. Not only was he given audience in court he was also granted bail until when he will be called upon for trial.
Miguel was still in cell when one of the officer came and ordered that he should be released immediately that he had been granted bail and an audience in court. Miguel was so happy he thought it was Edison that came to his rescue but when he asked who bailed him he was told it was Bar Julius the same person in charge of his sentence. Miguel was confused; he didn't understand why a complete stranger would decide to grant him bail and the stranger didn't even bother to bail his fellow staff members involved. He was then escorted outside where he met with Bar Julius. Julius then called to his attention
"Mr Miguel Mendoza!" Julius called out. Miguel saw him seating in his car and said
"Bar Julius I presume" Julius laughed and said
"Your presumptions are correct my dear boy, oh God you look a lot bigger than when I last saw you" Miguel was confused. And then asked
"Am sorry who are you? And why did you bail me, you even decided to defend me in court free of charge" Julius looked at him and said
"Oh my dear boy, you really don't recognize me, you were so little then. I'm Bar Julius and am a friend to your late father Mr Robert Mendoza. We were childhood friends we grew up together me, him and your father-in-law Edison. I can't believe Edison allowed this to happen to you after the agreement we had" everything Julius was saying just sounded strange to Miguel
"I'm sorry, what agreement? What do you mean?" Miguel asked. But Julius ignored Miguel's questions and just kept talking
"He has forgotten that I have all his secrets, he has forgotten that I know everything" now Miguel's ears were hungry to hear more he wanted to know what Julius was talking about
"What secret are you talking about?" Julius turned to Miguel placed his hand on his shoulder and said
"Don't worry my dear boy I'll fix everything. Your father might not be here, your mother might not be here but I'm here for you" he then turned around and said
"Edison shouldn't allow me to open up all the cobwebs he has hidden in his cupboard" Miguel knew there was more to what Julius was saying. But he didn't bother to ask again because he felt Julius wouldn't tell him anything.
Back in the Gonzales Mansion, while Abigail was sitting and playing with her great grandmother she spotted her father coming from a distance
"Mama look! it's daddy!" She shouted in excitement. Grandma stood up and asked
"Where, my child? Oh my goodness it really is him" both Abigail and grandma rushed to welcome Miguel. Emilia and her mother heard a lot of noise coming from outside. They wanted to see what was happening. But when they rushed out to their surprise they saw Miguel, they couldn't believe it. How did he get out? They thought to themselves...
