The Gonzales family rushed to the station to bail Edison but when they got there they saw Miguel and Bar Julius seating by the bench, the presence of Miguel attracted the family's attention
"Miguel, what are you doing here?" Grandma asked
"I came to take back what belongs to me, what was stolen from me a longtime ago" Miguel said
"What are you talking about?" Grandma asked.
"That man right there killed my father," Miguel said.
Immediately Miguel said this grandma was surprised and staggered. But Julius didn't hesitate to continue the conversation
"Mr Edison Gonzales has been found guilty of murder and conversion of the Mendoza's family's business. As a matter of fact the Gonzales Plantation actually belongs to the Mendoza and should be called the Mendoza Enterprise"
Immediately grandma heard this one she fell unconscious. Everybody rushed to hold her as she fell to the ground.
In the hospital immediately grandma woke up the first person she saw was Miguel sleeping beside her bed
"Miguel," she called out.
Miguel woke up immediately. He was happy to see grandma awake and well again. He rushed to hug and embrace her, then grandma started pleading with Miguel not to go ahead with his plan
"I've already lost Emilia, I can't lose Edison too" she said.
Miguel sighed and said
"I wish I could do something, but there's nothing I can do about it. I'm not the one doing it, karma is the one doing it not me. I must do the needful and the time is now"
In the police station, Edison was not granted bail because his court case was due to take place tomorrow so Julius decided to pay him a visit. He approached the cell where he was detained and said
"I'm very sure you didn't see this coming" Edison chuckled and said
"I can not be frightened and can never be frightened"
"You see that's where you fail, the idea is not to frighten you, it to bring you to justice" Julius said
Immediately he said this he turned around to walk away but Edison called to his attention
"What happened to us? Edison asked.
"We were all good friends. How did we get to this point?"
Julius turned around in anger and said
"Greed got you here Edison! You're only eating the fruit of greed. Just like they said ninety nine days for the thief one day for the owner, that day has come" Julius said this and walked away.
Immediately Julius walked out, Beatrice walked in Edison looked at Beatrice with a heavy eye full of tears and said
"Please Beatrice, help me I can't go like this!" Beatrice cried and said
"I wish I could help"
Edison was surprised to hear this
"So you're just gonna leave me here to rot" he said
"I wish I could help" she said this and ran away
"Beatrice, don't leave me! Please don't leave me" Edison cried out, but Beatrice ran away quickly.
Back at the Gonzales Mansion, Beatrice was restless and began to drink till she gets drunk. But Selene suddenly walks into the room and sees her drinking herself to stupor. She dragged the bottle out of her hand
"Beatrice, why are you doing this to yourself?" She said
"Leave me be Selene, let me just drink away my troubles" Beatrice replied
"You can't drink away this kind of trouble Beatrice, you can only drink in more trouble and cause more harm to yourself," Selene said.
Beatrice gave her the bottle and started complaining
"My daughter is in prison soon, my husband will join her. This house, the family business, everything will be taken away from us. And you ask me to just act natural as if nothing is happening? Julius has finally won. I can't believe I allowed him to win"
As Beatrice said that she took back the bottle from Selene and kept drinking.
Later that evening, Miguel and Abigail went to visit grandma in the hospital
"Grandma!"
Abigail said as she rushed to hug grandma on her sick bed. Miguel then said
"Look grandma we brought you flowers"
He then gave her the flowers. Grandma received the flowers and said
"Oh Miguel my dear boy, whenever I look at you I always find reasons to be happy. Really you are my boy Miguel".
She held Miguel's hand and leaned forward to give him a kiss on his forehead. They later brought out food from the bag and gave it to grandma. They stayed with grandma and kept her company all through the night.
The time had come and the moment was now! It was the next day and everybody had assembled in court ready to witness the sentence of Mr Edison Gonzales.
But Mr Edison as well decided that he will not go down without a fight, a legal battle in this matter.
He used his money to hire over seven well learned and well trained lawyers across the country that were experts in their field. They knew every nitty gritty of what the law entails and how to manipulate it to their own advantage.
When Miguel saw this, he was frightened by the elite squad of expert lawyers, but Bar Julius stood his ground and he wasn't frightened for any reason.
When all the allegations were laid against the accused he was asked to defend himself one of the lawyers Edison hired stood up and said
"My Lord we should not listen to all these accusations for these are mere accusations. And it's a very big error for a well trained lawyer to come to court and accuse someone of a crime without any atom of proof or evidence to back up his accusations"
With this Bar Julius stood up and said
"My Lord I've not spoken blindly. As a matter of fact, I have proof present here with me"
Immediately he said this the entire courtroom rumbled murmurings and complains everywhere
"Order! Order!!" The Chief Judge shouted as he bashed his mallet against the desk.
The noise calm down, and the courtroom was quite
"Bar Julius step forward with your evidence" the Chief Judge said.
Julius made a gesture with his hand, then some men came in with some files and documents. Everyone was silently watching the drama that was about to be played out. Bar Julius then cleared his throat and said
"My Lord I have right here with me, proof of ownership and landed documents of Mr Robert Mendoza's plantation, his Enterprise and this mansion."
Immediately he said this another lawyer stood up and said
"Objection my Lord, this is no solid evidence this is fake! It is possible for him to have procured fake documents as well as fake signatures"
The Chief Judge looked at the documents and said
"This is not a fake documents and the signatories are not fake"
Then another lawyer stood up immediately and said
"My Lord, it will be wrong for you to take drastic decisions based on just one weak evidence"
The Chief Judge was surprised to hear a well learned lawyer talk like a fool
"As a matter of fact this is a hardcore evidence! It shows the properties, the business as well as the mansion does not belong to him" the Chief Judge said.
Then another lawyer stood up and said
"Yes my Lord! Let us assume the documents are real and the properties and mansion belongs to Mr Robert Mendoza. What about the allegations of him killing Mr Robert Mendoza those are just false allegations"
Then again Bar Julius stood up and said
"If I may my Lord"
"Yes you may Bar Julius" the Chief Judge said.
Bar Julius cleared his throat and said
"I have a video here with me that captures when Mr Robert is being murdered by one of the killers. And not only will I show this video to the court, I also have the killer who committed this crime right here with us to testify to this crime"
Julius again made another signal for them to bring in the person. Immediately Beatrice saw the person her heart skipped, she was the one that hired the assassin to kill Mr Robert.
"I killed him!..." The criminal said
"....I killed Mr Robert Mendoza, the video is here as evidence!"
Immediately the chief judge heard this, he then asked the criminal
"Who asked you to kill Mr Robert Mendoza?"
Beatrice immediately gave him an eye signal asking him not to expose her. The criminal turned around and said
"My Lord the person who sent me was no other than, Mr Edison Gonzales!"
Immediately, one of lawyers stood up and shouted
"objection my Lord! This is a staged performance we cannot believe this act. This is nothing but a big lie"
Then Bar Julius stood up again and said
"My Lord incase this evidence is not enough. I also have here with me, a voice record of when Mr Edison Gonzales confessed to him killing Mr Robert Mendoza. I got this record from a conversation we had years ago. With your permission my Lord I will love to play the voice not"
Immediately he was interrupted by another lawyer who shouted
"Objection my Lord!"
The chief judge in anger shouted!
"Objection overruled!! This is my final verdict! I hereby sentence Mr Edison Gonzales to a lifetime imprisonment for convertion of properties belonging to Mr Robert Mendoza, and the death of Mr Robert Mendoza. And you will as well pay out every single dim you have in your account into Mr Miguel Mendoza's account, and every property belonging to Mr Robert Mendoza will now be inherited by his son Mr Miguel Mendoza! This is my final verdict. Court dismiss!!!.....
