Everything was set and the court case was scheduled for the next day Julius was sure he'll win this case but Beatrice thought otherwise. Anderson had been released from prison and was detained in a police station until after the testimony in court.
While he in the station, police officers were assigned to look after him. But one of the police officers had been paid to poison Anderson. The police officer offered him a plate of neatly prepared meal. Anderson hadn't eaten such a meal in a long time and probably won't when he goes back to jail so he received the food with happiness, but he didn't know it was poisoned. Wheen he ate it he coughed out blood and died.
The next day Julius received an information that Anderson the witness was dead. He was furious he didn't understand how somebody that was so important would be killed even in the custody of well abled police men. But he was less worried about the death of Anderson, and more worried about his court case. How will I be able to prove Miguel's innocence?
But they assembled in court, and again as usual Miguel was accused of the same crime and his attorney was asked to defend him.
Julius stood up and again started contemplating on how Miguel is being framed and the main suspect should be The Gonzales Enterprise not Miguel.
This statement made Edison to stand up.
"Objection my Lord!" Edison shouted.
"Miguel wanted to make extra money from the transportation of drugs. As a matter of fact, Miguel is the true perpetuator and his attorney is just trying to deceive us, he's trying to divert our attention from the main thing. He is the one trying to frame my company!!..."
Immediately Julius interrupted him
"Objection my Lord! Julius said.
"He is just trying to take us off track, his points are all meaningless with no solid foundation"
Again Edison interrupted him and said
"Objection my Lord…"
The Chief Judge have had enough
"Objection overruled! He said.
"both parties has insufficient evidence and this can cause the court to make drastic decisions that might favor only one party. And it most definitely will not be the accused"
Miguel then raised his hand and said
"My Lord if I may!"
The Chief Judge looked at him and said
"Yes of course you may"
"You said no definite decision could be made due to insufficient evidence?" Miguel asked
"Yes that is what I said" the Chief Judge replied
"What if I told you I have a hardcore evidence right here with me, and I know who the true perpetrator is"
immediately Miguel said this the entire courtroom shook, both Beatrice and Edison starred at each other, they were murmurings along the corners.
"Order! Order!!" The Chief Judge shouted.
"Mr Miguel Mendoza please step forward with your evidence"
Miguel boldly stepped forward brought out his phone and said
"I have right here with me a recorded conversation of me and my wife Emilia, and she confessed to paying some for the staff to planted the drug in the truck!"
Immediately Miguel said that Beatrice turned and looked at Emilia with a face full of disappointment. But Miguel kept talking
"She said she did it so she could get rid of me permanently. My Lord with your permission I'll like to play this recording I have with me"
Beatrice didn't want Miguel to play the record so she tried to distract them she stood up and said
"My Lord we shouldn't pay attention to whatever he has in there he could possibly be lying"
But instead the Chief Judge didn't pay attention to what Beatrice was saying
"Silent madame!" He said
He asked Miguel to play the tape which Miguel did as well. They heard everything from their conversation how Emilia admitted that she was the one who planted the drug in the truck and framed Miguel for it.
And she also said that she kidnapped Bar Julius as well. After hearing everything the Chief Judge made his final verdict
"I hereby declare Mr Miguel Mendoza free of all accusations and before this noble assembly I hereby find Mrs Emilia Mendoza guilty of drug trafficking, blackmailing and kidnapping and I hereby sentence you to a lifetime imprisonment. And this is my final verdict!"
He stamps his mallet on the desk and said
"Court dismissed!"
Immediately after, a police officer hijacked Emilia, cuffed her and started to drag her out. Beatrice couldn't allow them take her daughter away she started causing nuisance she attacked the police officers
"Leave my daughter alone, leave my daughter alone!" she said.
One of the police officer gripped her tight and said
"Madame, your daughter has been found guilty and has been charged accordingly. There's nothing we can do about it."
The police officer gripped her so tight that she couldn't move, she could only watch as they took her daughter away.
Edison on the other hand immediately left the courtroom as if someone was chasing him he was avoiding disgrace.
Outside the courtyard when the court case was over Miguel was moving with Bar Julius and they were discussing
"Sir I really want to thank you for everything, Miguel said."
"I've already been sentenced to jail but somehow you came into the picture and you saved me honestly I don't know how I can repay you"
Julius placed his hand on Miguel's shoulder and said
"Miguel my boy, you don't owe me a single penny, everything I do here I did it in respect of your father, my late friend" he then sighed and said
"I know you think the battle is over but it's not this is only the beginning"
Miguel chuckled and said
"I don't understand what do you mean?"
"What if I told you that the Gonzales Plantation, the Gonzales Enterprise and everything the Gonzales own even the Gonzales mansion. All these wealths and riches never belonged to the Gonzales family but it belongs to your father!"
Immediately Miguel heard this he was surprised he couldn't believe his ear he was shocked to his bone
"I don't understand what you mean, I don't..." Miguel stammer's
"Hmmm you don't understand? Julius asked.
"allow me to break it down for you. The Gonzales Enterprise is not The Gonzales Enterprise, and as a matter of fact it is and should be called the Mendoza Enterprise"
Miguel now understands what Julius was trying to say but he still can't believe what his ears were hearing but Julius kept on talking
"Sit down boy, he said. "Let me tell you how everything happened"
They sat on a bench outside of the courtroom. Julius took a very big sigh and started narrating the story
"It all happened a long time ago. Your father, Robert Mendoza, the founder and sole owner of the Mendoza Enterprise, went on a one year business trip that will skyrocket his business and take him to the next level. But still he couldn't abandon his business and go there and stay for a year without supervising the plantation and he couldn't trust any of his staff to really supervise his business for him. Meanwhile myself, Edison and your late father, we were all good friends from childhood. So Robert decided to ask his childhood friend to help him supervise the production until he gets back. Edison agreed. He even gave him his mansion to stay and house his family until he comes back. A year had passed and it was getting to two years. Robert wasn't back yet and the business was already booming. Money was coming in from various units but none of this money was going to Edison's account, everything was going to your father's account. Suddenly greed entered, Edison wanted to grab a hold of this business for himself, so he device's a plan to kill your father. It was the beginning of the third year and Robert was ready to come back but on his way back Edison ambushed his ride and killed him. The idea was to kill all three of you but your mother picked you up in her arms and escaped, they chased after her but she had already gone far. She got to an orphanage and then left you there and went her way"
At this point Julius took a break for a few seconds then continued the story
"After she kept you in the orphanage she called me and told me everything that happened she also told me where I can find you. She asked me to help find out who ambushed the vehicle, and in the process of my investigation I discovered that Edison was the one who plotted the attack. When I confronted him he didn't deny he admitted to the crime as well but somehow I couldn't take him to court. I had a weak spot for him because of the relationship we've had as siblings, so I made him promise to take good care of you which he agreed to do as well. You don't owe me anything Miguel I am your family lawyer and I was only doing my job, I have your father's will, I have the documents of the land and the plantation and everything about the business and I also have access to your father's account before he died. All the money he made are still in that account. But the wait is over it's time to take back what rightfully belongs to you and for me to pay back in full what I owe your father and your mother"
Miguel sat silently he didn't even know what to say anymore
"But you said my mother escaped, that means she's still alive. Where is she?" Miguel asked
"That Miguel is a story for another day" Julius said
Now in the Gonzales Mansion Beatrice just walked in. She walks in slowly, she was heavy hearted she didn't know what to feel, she couldn't believe that her daughter had been charged and sentenced to jail.
While she was still pondering on what just happened her husband, Edison walked in furiously!
"Are you happy now? Beatrice, are you happy now!!! Edison said.
"You've finally succeeded in dragging my family's name to the mud! Are you happy now!!"
Beatrice cried bitterly and said
"I did it for you, everything I did, I did it for my family! I did it for the love I have for my family"
"What nonsense love do you mean? Edison said.
"Your love has ruined your family, your love has destroyed your family"
While they were still arguing both Grandma, Abigail and Selene walked in to see what was happening
"Why so much arguing" grandma asked
"Beatrice has finally destroyed my family" Edison answered
"I did it for you! I did it for all of you" Beatrice cried out.
While they were still arguing, police officers opened the door and walked into the house. Immediately they saw the police officers, the tension in the house increased.
They were surprised to see them. Beatrice was scared she thought Emilia had confessed and they've come to take her away
"Why are you here, what do you want?" Edison asked.
One of the police officer brought out an arrest warrant and said
"Mr Edison Gonzales you are under arrest for the murder of Mr Robert Mendoza and conversion of the Mendoza family properties and business. You have the right to remain silent, you have the right to an attorney in court. Please don't struggle"
Immediately they cuffed Edison and took him away. Beatrice cried her eyes out but it changed nothing. Grandma tried to plead with the officer but they did not listen. Instead they asked the family to come to the station and lay their statements and complaints.
