That morning, Cassie woke up with a biting cold. The usual ceiling of her room looked the same as the days before, but something felt different. She got up and headed to the bathroom with an inexplicable sense of emptiness.
After showering and dressing, Cassie went to the kitchen, where Kevin was already at the dining table. "Good morning, Kevin," Cassie greeted, trying to appear cheerful despite the strange feeling still haunting her mind.
"Good morning, Cassie," Kevin replied, glancing at some documents. "Any plans for today?"
"Plans? No special plans," Cassie answered as she poured coffee into her cup. "I just feel like something is missing from my memory."
Kevin looked at her attentively. "Are you feeling okay? Sometimes, discomfort can be a sign that you need to rest."
Cassie nodded, though the feeling continued to disturb her thoughts. "Maybe you're right. I just need to continue my routine and see how it goes."
