Stephanie's POV
"How about you come to me and we forget all about this little incident, huh?I might not let him live but not you, never you. I'm not afraid to shoot, darling, and if I can't have you, neither can he," Jason said, his voice dripping with menace. He held the gun steady, his eyes locked on Stephanie.
Stephanie's mind raced. She didn't know what to do. It was like she heard a noise outside. She glanced back at Alexander, who mouthed the word 'duck'. For a split second, she was confused, but then she understood and immediately dropped to the floor.
A shot rang out, followed by another, and then a final one. The room fell into a sudden, deafening silence. Her heart pounded as she hoped none of the shots were directed at Alexander.
Slowly, she stood from her crouched position, her eyes scanning the room. Jason lay on the floor with two bullets, one in his arm and the other in his chest. Blood pooled around him, and he groaned in pain.
