Chapter 36 - Chapter 35, Regalia District!

The sudden bomb left Sora bewildered, making Ayame chuckle with a mysterious tone.

"I am kidding…. Maybe," Sora couldn't catch her last word, but he decided just to shut up.

Ayame was finished with the cooking and brought it to the luxurious table. They ate while chatting every now and then, the tension from earlier dissolving with each word. Sora was enjoying himself, the last time he had breakfast with someone…. When even was that?

He couldn't remember his interactions with his parents, yet their faces still lingered in his memories. He was certain this is how it must have felt back in the days when they had breakfast together.

"Is something on bothering you?" Ayame asked, noticing his blank expression

"Just thinking about my past… Actually, I don't even remember much, if anything at all. Is this how it felt to have breakfast with my parents? With how you described them, it must have, right? I really feel like shit, you know, can't even remember my own goddamn parents!" Tears started forming around his eyes.

Ayame's eyes softened with concern. She got up from her seat and went towards Sora, taking his hand and squeezing it gently, "It's okay, Sora-kun. You can't blame yourself for what you had no control over. We will slowly get you to open up, and I swear, I will be by your side throughout this whole journey, and beyond" She cupped his cheeks and placed a gentle kiss of affirmation on his forehead.

Sora hummed in response, and Ayame continued with, "Now, let's finish eating, and then I can show you around this area," Sora smiled and resumed eating his pancakes.

"So, will this be a date?"

Ayame nodded, "Mhm! We couldn't finish our date the other day, so we can continue today!"

"I am sorry about that…" He sighed in self-deprecation

Ayame quickly shook her head, "No, no! I am not blaming you! I am just happy we get to spend more time together now, ehehe,"

Sora looked into her eyes, finding comfort and reassurance, "Thank you…"

"You know, Sora-kun, sometimes you are shy like this, which I absolutely adore, and sometimes you're surprisingly firm, like how yo-" Before Ayame could finish, Sora quickly intervened, his face resembling a tomato, "Stop, stop! I didn't know what took over me yesterday!!"

"Fufufu~" She had again succeeded in teasing him.

'Teenage hormones be damned!'

Regalia District, known for its high-class ranking; each resident of this place was either world-famous actors, actresses, or children of business tycoons. The sprawling complex had every luxury imaginable, from private pools, gyms, high-end restaurants, and shopping centres to hospitals with the best of the best services.

Ayame's parents owned his haven of luxury and within the park were visible a couple, leisurely strolling along the paved paths. The park was an abode of lush greenery, with sparkling fountains and serene sitting areas. The air was filled with the scent of nature, a stark contrast to the outside world.

"This place is something else, I don't even have words to describe it," Sora looked around with wonder, the beauty of this place was enough to make him feel like he was in heaven, though, the opulent nature also left him restless.

"We haven't even scratched the surface, and let's go there," Saying that, Ayame pointed towards a cafe.

As they approached the cafe, he couldn't help but admire the vintage and elegant design. Ayame led Sora through, the cafe's exterior boasted a classic design with ornate woodwork. The entrance was filled with welcoming plants.

The person behind the counter, seemingly the manager, bowed down, "Welcome, Miss. Tsubasa, Mr. Arashi," Ayame nodded in response, and Sora's eyes widened.

"Wait, he knows me??" He whispered.

"Mhm, I have sent your photo to all the restaurants, shopping malls, hospitals and cafes! Wherever you go, they will treat you like royalty!" Ayame proudly exclaimed.

Sora was speechless, 'When did she even get the time to do this? What the hell….'

Though surprised, he didn't dare question her, it wasn't like he was scared, but rather he knew she would be sad if he tried to stop her.

Both of them found a table and settled in comfortably. The seating consisted of plush, velvet armchairs and intricately carved wooden tables. Each table is adorned with small vases of fresh flowers and a fixed display with all the available meals. It seemed like the display was interactive with all the ingredients, letting you order without even calling a waiter.
