Chapter 1 - 1. Divine Summons

This legend has been known for thousands of years, a story of a holy angel who fell in love with a demon king and broke the laws of the world. This tale will never be forgotten, as it started all the legends that exist.

 Heavania, Heaven

This is where God's throne resides, a grand room adorned with gold and silver, making it appear majestic and dazzling.

Angels and gods gathered, forming their respective lines, with angels on the right side of the room and gods on the left. They bowed their heads as a beautiful woman dressed in white, surrounded by a radiant glow, walked past them and sat on the throne. No one dared to lift their heads, not even to sneak a peek, as the woman of the highest status walked by.

The woman smiled as she reached the throne and sat. "I permit the holy angel, Alice D'Matriese, to enter this sacred room," she announced.

The golden door opened slowly as she called. The sound of trumpets echoed as the door opened, and slowly a woman appeared.

Alice, the girl standing at the door, wore a white dress and had long golden hair. She stepped into the room with a firm and resolute demeanor. As she reached the front of the throne where God sat, a pair of large white wings emerged from her back.

The woman walked past the angels and gods who still had their heads bowed. As she walked, her wings flapped, causing a few feathers to fly into the air, only to disappear when they touched the ground.

When she reached the woman sitting on the throne, Alice knelt and bowed her head. "Alice D'Matriese, the holy angel, is present, my Lord," she said.

The deity smiled. "Alice D'Matriese, holy angel, you are the angel I created to protect us from the demons. Your presence is feared and respected by everyone, including gods and angels, because of your immense holy power. Are you ready to carry out my orders?" asked the deity.

Alice nodded. "Your command is an honor for me, my Lord," Alice replied confidently.

The deity smiled again, gazing softly at Alice. She extended her hand, and a radiant light appeared, revealing a golden staff with various lights at the top. She stood from her throne. "In my name, Georgia Heavania, God of this world Themser, I command you to go to the underworld, Findlia, and conquer the Demon King, Luke Fier'Diese, who is the brother of Lucifer imprisoned in Eden. Can you carry this out?"

Alice stood and smiled confidently. She bowed, her wings spreading wide on her back. "Yes, my Lord, I, Alice D'Matriese, will carry out your command," she replied with determination.

Findlia, Hell

This place is where the demon kingdom was built, where the demon king resides. Known as the dark world where demon nobles dwell.

A servant approached the throne and bowed to the man sitting on it. "My Lord, I heard that God is sending a holy angel to kill you today," reported the servant in a dark tuxedo.

"Kill me?" asked the man, confirming.

"Yes, my Lord," replied the servant.

The man on the throne was silent for a moment, then smiled. "Let it be."

Another man sitting next to the throne stood up. "Let it be? Are you serious?" he asked with a frown.

The man on the throne smiled and looked at the man beside him. "Can she kill me? I am the demon king, no angel can kill me," he said mockingly. "I bet that holy angel will surely kneel before me," he said confidently.

The man next to him sighed. "So you're not going to do anything?" the man sat back down but kept his eyes on the demon king. "Are you sure?" he asked.

Luke, the demon king, sneered. "No, I have an idea." He stood up, walked down the throne steps, loosened his cravat, and tossed it to the floor. "I'm going to have some fun."

#### Emeryrose Church, Findlia

Alice stood gazing at the cross carved into the wall of Emeryrose Church. The church looked old and ruined, with burn marks at every corner. Her eyes scanned the surroundings, making sure of her safety.

"It seems this church was once used. It's a pity God's holy power can't reach here," Alice sighed as she looked at the worn-out church.

She turned and walked towards the church door. However, her steps halted when she sensed an unpleasant aura around her.

"Where are you going?" a horrifying voice echoed in the room. Alice turned but saw no one.

Suddenly, a blood-stained hand grabbed her leg, trying to pull her down. Alice simply stared at the hand.

"A demon?" she muttered, sighing. In the underworld, it wasn't surprising that even demons could enter a church.

Laughter echoed through the room. "Where are you going, pretty girl? Can you help us?" the horrifying voice asked again.

When her eyes looked straight ahead, she saw numerous disgusting creatures with bloodstains on their bodies. A foul smell emanated from them, and all the creatures smiled at her.

"What do you want?" Alice asked calmly.

The laughter stopped. Suddenly, a woman's voice was heard. "Please help us! For a thousand years, we have prayed in this church

, but there is no miracle for us. Please release us from this suffering," the voice pleaded.

Alice sighed. "Life is a wheel. What sin have you committed to become like this?" Alice asked the creatures.

The grip on her leg tightened. "Please help us! Holy angel!" the voice pleaded again.

The girl sighed. She extended her hand, and a handful of light emerged, forming a sword. "In the name of God, I, Alice D'Matriese, command to release these creatures from the mortal world. Hold their hands, show them the shining path to heaven." Alice then thrust her sword into the ground. "Amen!"

As the sword pierced the ground, the creatures suddenly glowed brightly. Their forms no longer looked terrifying; they turned into humans and disappeared with smiles and tears of relief.

After the creatures were gone, the girl smiled and walked away from the church. However, her steps halted again when she sensed something odd.

"An angel?" a man's voice suddenly echoed behind her.

Alice turned and found a man standing before the cross. Her eyes widened in surprise. There was a human in this place!

"Are you an angel?" the man asked.

Alice's eyes widened as she clearly saw the man. "How... why are you here?!" Alice's voice rose, genuinely shocked. How could a living human be in hell?

The man looked at her in confusion. "What about you? Why are you here?" the man asked again.

"You are an ordinary human. How can you be here?" Alice asked again, this time with a softer tone.

The man had a very pale face, wore a black shirt and brown pants, and his white skin made him look very pale, his lips colorless.

"At least you should answer me first. Are you really an angel?" the man asked again, sounding annoyed.

Alice sighed. How many times had she sighed today? To leave this church alone had been troublesome. She didn't know what other strange things awaited outside.

"My name is Alice, and I am an angel," Alice replied firmly.

"Wow! In a place like this?!" the man exclaimed in surprise.

"Yes! In a place like this!" said Alice. "So, how did you get here?" Alice asked.

"Oh... me?" the man pointed to himself.

"Yes, you," Alice crossed her arms, her forehead creased in curiosity. A living human shouldn't be here.

"Um... my name is... Lu...cas." Thud! The man suddenly fell, clutching his chest. His body trembled violently on the ground.

Alice was stunned. "What the..." She sighed again. She couldn't leave a human here.

.

Lucas slowly opened his eyes as sunlight hit them. A large, shining white feather fell on his face. When he picked it up, it disappeared into a spark of light.

Lucas rose from his bed. How did he end up in a bed? He looked around and found Alice sitting next to him.

Alice sat with her legs crossed and her chin propped on her right hand, staring at Lucas with a blank expression. "Did you sleep well?" Alice asked flatly.

Lucas looked around again. "Where?" he asked inquisitively.

Alice was silent for a moment, then stood up. "In the human world, Koorselian," Alice answered. She walked towards a nearby table and poured water into a glass.

Lucas was visibly shocked by this. "Why did you bring me here?" he asked Alice.

Alice looked at him briefly, then walked back to the bed and handed the glass of water to Lucas. "Drink first," she said. As Lucas took the glass from her hand, Alice sat back down next to him.

"You suddenly collapsed in front of me. What was I supposed to do? Leave you in the demon world?" Alice said sarcastically, her face still blank but her voice irritated.

Lucas was silent. "You should have just left me. Why bother saving me..."

Alice sighed again. She was very annoyed. Because of this man, her work was delayed. Now that she had brought him to the human world, he was complaining.

"What kind of angel do you think I am? I couldn't leave you in the demon world, could I?!" Alice said, her voice frustrated. "You would be destroyed by the evil energy in Findlia. Humans can't handle it!" she said, her forehead creasing in irritation.

Alice sighed. It wasn't good to scold a human who knew nothing about demons and angels. It felt pointless.

"I'll leave now," said Alice, standing up again. "I still have work to do."

Lucas glanced at Alice as she started to walk away.

"... don't go," Lucas suddenly pleaded.

Alice stopped, turned, and found Lucas smiling at her.

Alice looked at Lucas in wonder. "Why?" Alice asked.

"Well... I want to repay your kindness!" said Lucas with an awkward smile.

"No, you don't have to. It's my duty to help humans like you," replied Alice as she started to walk away again.

"Do you want to go to a festival?" Lucas offered. Alice stopped again. "You know, a human festival! I'm sure you've never been to a human festival, right?!"

"Festival?" Alice repeated.

"Yes! Festival! You can have fun!" said Lucas with a convincing wide smile.

Alice turned around. "Alright, why not?" she replied with a blank face, but anyone who heard her voice would know she was excited.
