Chapter 9 - 9. Rabbit's Trails

A thousand years ago, in the celestial realm where time danced to the symphony of creation, a rabbit named Viosa approached the divine being known as Georgia. With solemn eyes, Viosa spoke of a vision, a request that seemed to stir the very fabric of existence itself.

"Georgia," began Viosa, "I beseech you to craft a sacred holy angel."

Georgia, the God of all creation, looked upon the rabbit with curiosity. "But all angels are holy beings, Viosa. What sets this one apart?"

"The sacred angel will be a nexus of fate and life in this world," urged Viosa. "A connection that transcends the bounds of time and space. You will not regret bestowing upon existence this divine creation."

Intrigued by Viosa's conviction, Georgia pondered the request. And in a moment that echoed through eternity, the sacred holy angel was born, its purpose etched into the tapestry of destiny.

Back in the present timeline, Luke and Alice treaded the path of uncertainty, their journey resumed after five days of respite in the tranquil cabin. As they ventured forth, Alice's curiosity bubbled to the surface.

"Luke, do you know where we can find this rabbit?" she inquired, her voice tinged with anticipation.

Luke's brow furrowed in thought. "I'm not certain of his whereabouts," he admitted. "But the rabbit always leaves a trail whenever he visits different dimensions in this world."

Perplexed, Alice listened intently as Luke unraveled the enigma of the elusive rabbit. He spoke of the rabbit's extraordinary power to traverse dimensions, even venturing into the past, present, and future.

"But that's impossible," Alice interjected, her disbelief palpable. "Only those granted authority by God can wield such power. How can a mere rabbit possess abilities beyond even the divine?"

Luke's gaze held a flicker of awe. "Indeed, the rabbit's power surpasses comprehension. It is a force that defies the very laws of creation, transcending the boundaries set by even the Almighty."

As Luke unveiled the astonishing truth about the rabbit's powers, Alice couldn't help but feel a surge of disbelief. Her mind struggled to comprehend the notion of a creature capable of such incredible feats.

"But... how is that even possible?" Alice stammered, her eyes wide with wonder. "Jumping through dimensions and timelines? That's... beyond anything I could have imagined."

Luke offered a reassuring smile, sensing Alice's innocence in the face of the rabbit's extraordinary abilities. "I know, it's a lot to take in," he acknowledged gently. "But somehow, the rabbit possesses a power that even the divine forces cannot fully grasp."

Despite her bewilderment, Alice couldn't shake off the sense of curiosity that stirred within her. "So, where do we begin?" she asked, her voice tinged with a mixture of excitement and apprehension.

Luke paused, considering their next course of action. "We start by following the rabbit's trail," he explained patiently. "Every time it visits a dimension, it leaves behind a subtle imprint—a clue for us to follow."

"Luke," Alice asked, her voice filled with wonder, "how do you even sense the rabbit's trail? Is it like a tingling sensation, or is it something more... profound?"

Luke paused, considering her question. "It's not so much a physical sensation as it is a feeling," he explained. "It's like the air around us suddenly becomes charged with energy, and I can sense the subtle shifts in the fabric of reality."

Alice furrowed her brow, trying to comprehend his words. "So, it's like you're attuned to the universe itself, able to perceive its hidden patterns and flows?"

"Exactly," Luke nodded, impressed by her insight. "It's as if the universe is whispering its secrets to me, guiding me towards the rabbit's presence."

Alice's eyes widened in realization. "Luke, now that you mention it, I remember feeling a similar sensation when I was in the realm of heaven," she said, her voice tinged with excitement.

Luke turned to her, intrigued. "You did? What did it feel like?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

"It was like... being surrounded by an invisible energy, like the air itself was alive with some kind of cosmic force," Alice explained, trying to capture the ethereal sensation in words. "At first, I thought it was just the natural essence of heaven, but now I wonder if it was something more. Could it have been the presence of the rabbit?"

Luke's eyes sparkled with interest. "It's possible," he mused, considering her words. "If the rabbit's influence extends beyond the mortal realm, it would make sense that you'd feel its presence even in heaven."

They continues their journey, As they ventured deeper into the mountain, Alice's determination to lead the way remained steadfast, her steps purposeful despite the obstacles that littered their path. Luke, trailing behind her, couldn't help but feel a mixture of exasperation and concern at her stubborn insistence on taking the lead.

"Watch out for that root, Alice," Luke cautioned, pointing to a gnarled obstacle snaking across their path.

"I see it, Luke," Alice retorted, her tone defensive, before promptly tripping over the root and stumbling forward with an undignified yelp.

Luke hurried to her side, concern evident in his eyes as he steadied her. "I warned you to be careful," he remarked with a hint of frustration, though his touch was firm as he helped her regain her balance.

Alice brushed off his assistance with a stubborn tilt of her chin. "I don't need your help," she muttered, refusing to admit her mistake even as she accepted his support.

Their journey continued, marked by Alice's stubborn determination to prove herself, even as her clumsiness repeatedly betrayed her. Luke watched in bemusement as she stumbled through the undergrowth, her pride refusing to allow her to admit defeat.

But when Alice's reckless antics led them into a perilous encounter with a group of territorial creatures, Luke's patience finally wore thin. He turned to her with a raised eyebrow, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "Well, Alice, it seems your impeccable leadership has landed us in quite the predicament. Remind me again why I'm following you?"

Alice bristled at his sarcasm, her own frustration bubbling to the surface. "Oh, don't act like you're blameless in all of this, Luke," she snapped back, her tone defensive. "If you hadn't sealed my divine powers, none of this would have happened!"

Luke raised an eyebrow at Alice's retort, his patience wearing thin. "Ah yes, because clearly, it's my fault you decided to charge headfirst into danger," he replied, his voice heavy with sarcasm. "But then again, I suppose relying on your divine powers is out of the question now, isn't it? Since, you know, I made sure you're just a regular human now."

Alice's expression hardened at his words, a mixture of defiance and frustration flashing in her eyes. "I don't need your lectures, Luke," she shot back, her tone defensive. "I can take care of myself, divine powers or not."

Luke sighed, his frustration evident as he shook his head. "Of course, Alice," he replied, his voice laced with exasperation. "Because clearly, your track record speaks for itself. Just try not to get yourself killed before we find this rabbit."

They continue their journey with cold atmosphere around them until ...

"Seriously, Alice, can't you watch where you're going?" Luke's voice was tinged with irritation as he brushed aside a low-hanging branch.

"Excuse me for trying to navigate through this jungle of trees," Alice retorted, her tone sharp. "Not all of us have night vision, you know."

Luke rolled his eyes. "Well, maybe if you didn't trip over every root and rock in sight..."

"Oh, please. I don't see you offering to lead the way," Alice shot back, her frustration mounting.

"I wouldn't trust you to follow even if I did," Luke muttered under his breath.

Their argument continued in this vein, back and forth, as they trudged through the dense forest. But amidst their bickering, a strange sensation began to prick at Alice's senses, bringing their dispute to an abrupt halt. As they untangled themselves from their argumentative vein, they set their sights on the mysterious trail and decided to follow it.

Nearby, by the moonlit river, they spotted a peculiar sight—a boy, his silver hair shimmering in the moonlight, his eyes a striking shade of red. What caught their attention most was the fluffy bunny ear perched atop his head. Alice couldn't help but gasp in shock at the unexpected sight. As Rabbit caught sight of them, his eyes widened in recognition, and a mischievous grin spread across his face. He didn't seem surprised by their presence, almost as if he had been expecting them.
