Chapter 15 - Changes 2

As the icy waters of the temple poured on me, I started to get a grip of myself.

Thousands of years of memories played on in my head, mostly spent asleep but still, thousands of years were thousands of years. If a baby was left on it's own for that amount of time it would surely mature.

The illusion I built around myself in despair was ripped apart. What new beginning, what learning humanity, I was a demon, a demon prince no less.

"Vonfaelis Noctis Skianox....." I muttered under my breath.

'I am Vonfaelis Noctis Skianox, The Prince of the Shadows'. I now fully understood the meaning of my name in demonics - evil darkness, ruler of the shadows.

Like an epiphany, memories of my parents which I had no recollection of came flooding back, it felt like a dam in my mind had been broken.

"My baby, you are a ruler you see."

"Of what mommy?"

"Look up what do you see?"

"Nothing mom, it's totally empty and black too."

"Yes my son there is nothing, but you will at a point get to understand that nothing is the greatest of all."

"Mommy is daddy a ruler of nothing?"

"No love, your daddy is a ruler of the clan, you are a ruler of nothing."

"But I don't wanna be a ruler of nothing, I want to be like daddy big and strong, I want to be the ruler of the clan too "

"Sigh."

"Nothing is the greatest of all things?" I muttered, lost in thought.

"Yes, everything is gotten from nothing.

No. That can't be, nothing encompasses all things

That's not entirely correct either, everything can be erased but nothing cannot be erased. It exists yet it doesn't

Yes, in the beginning there was nothing and nothing shall remain forever." I sat there, contemplating like a mad person.

Soon I was lost in my world of comprehension, slowly unraveling the mysteries of nothing. A paradox indeed.

I sat there for an unknown period of time, unaware of my surroundings, unaware of myself.

Slowly cracks began to appear on my black eye, but I wasn't aware of that either. I kept on comprehending the concept, but it was ironic how I was understanding nothing.
