Proceeding to ignore the raccoon that kept staring at him, Alistair said. "Eleven tell me about this new feature."
A few seconds after Alistair had just finished talking, the monotonous voice that Alistair had gotten slightly used to said.
"Just like the screen read, the host has gotten access to a new System function called Evolution."
After waiting for a couple more seconds, she continued.
"Evolution is a key feature in the Divine Ascension Template and it helps the host break past his racial limits of a Slime by evolving into higher species of the Slime race."
"Although this new feature has given the host a chance to increase his species, it wouldn't happen always as it was a stroke of luck that the host was able to trigger the Evolution this time."
Listening closely to everything Eleven was saying, Alistair refrained from asking too many pointless questions as he knew information was important if he wanted to survive.
"The Evolution requirement met by the host was learning Telepathy as it gave the host the chance to evolve into a Slime specie of the psychic path."
Amazed by the potential of the new feature he got, Alistair asked. 'So can you tell me about the Evolution branches of the psychic path?'
As if she had sensed the eagerness in Alistair's tone, Eleven said pouring a bucket of cold water on him.
"Ask the System, that's not my job."
Unbothered by how she replied, he thought. 'In that case, tell me about the benefit brought about by Evolving.'
In his eyes, she was not worth an ounce of his anger as in the end she was the one depending on him like a parasite. To him, her pride was false and if she wanted to be proud the first thing she needed to do was get a body of her own.
Aware of Alistair's thoughts, Eleven said after a minute had passed –making it seem as if she was pissed by what he thought.
"Evolving would not only make the host stronger but it would use the potential within the host. Due to the Divine Ascension Template, the host has the potential to attain Divinity and Evolution is a means by which the host can tap into the immense potential he possesses."
"Apart from tapping into your immense potential, the host would also gain an increase in strength thereby leading to the host making an increase in his Existential Rank."
After hearing all what Eleven had to say, Alistair said with subtle eagerness. 'System show me the Evolution branches of the psychic path.'
Without making a fuss, a transparent blue screen materialized before Alistair as rows of texts filled it in a matter of seconds.

'Give me a brief description about them.' Alistair added, feeling his attention drawn to a single option on the list.
But to avoid jeopardizing his future and growth, Alistair knew it was best he asked the System to explain about all six options.
Hearing Alistair's words, another screen materialized beside the previous one with the information that Alistair sought written on it.

[Pink Slime (Common): One of the common species of the Slime race just a little bit more scarce than the abundant Blue Slime. They can use psychic ability to an extent like Telepathy and extremely weak Telekinesis. Stats are superior to that of a Blue Slime by one or two points. Like Blue Slimes, they are also cannon fodder.

After he was done reading the description of the Pink Slime, Alistair fell into deep thought as he muttered. "I guess I'm currently a blue slime. The most common type so looking at it logically this path is beyond useless."
Swiftly making his decision, Alistair didn't pay the Pink Slime Evolution choice nor that of the Purple Slime another ounce of his attention, and went straight to the remaining four.
If the Evolution choice of the Pink Slime could be that useless, Alistair was sure that the Evolution choice of the Purple Slime would make little to no difference.
And just like he thought, the Purple Slime was in fact the evolved form of the Pink Slime and still couldn't hold a candle to the other options which were just first phase Evolution options unlike it that was a second phase option.
Evolution of creatures can be divided into different phases the unevolved, the first Evolution phase, second Evolution phase, third Evolution phase, fourth Evolution phase, and fifth Evolution phase.
Currently, Alistair was still unevolved and whichever path he choose would become his first phase then the one after that would be his second phase.
Although fifth evolution phase existed, only a handful of creatures were able to reach it as it implied that the creature had attained Divinity.
And because evolution was a thing unique to lowly creatures like Goblins and Slimes, high-ranked creatures like Dragons and Griffins would never achieve Divinity unless one of their parents were god-ranked.
It was like lower creatures were blessed with immense potential but not the strength nor wisdom to utilize it, and high-ranked creatures were blessed with immense strength but no potential to reach the peak.
Unsure why the System had placed a second phase evolution along with those of the first phase, Alistair kept on reading the information about the other options.

[Parasitic Brain Slime (Uncommon): An uncommon variant of parasitic Slimes. They live in the brain of other organisms and gradually grow stronger by first feeding on the creature's brain then using it's body to hunt for other creatures to consume. They can use basic psychic abilities like Telepathy and also gain access to the abilities of the bodies they control.

Ignoring the other texts on the screen after he saw that it was a parasite, Alistair kept on reading the description of other Evolution options.
Even if it were the strongest Evolution option he had, Alistair wouldn't still pick it. He felt it was shameful to depend on the abilities of another creature, and spend his life like a coward another reason was his pride won't let him live like that.

[Dream Devouring Slime (Rare): A Slime specie with strong psychic capabilities that are further enhanced by feeding on the dreams of different creatures. Due to their incredible psychic prowess, they are in a constant state of sleep.
