Sensing the pride Alistair felt even though he mentioned that he planned on using force, the being sighed. "Sometimes pride isn't always a good thing."
In his eyes, Alistair could have just submitted and give him his body. But due to Alistair's pride, the being was now forced to take control of his body the hard way.
Unlike the previous method were Alistair might still live even if the being possessed him, the chances of Alistair surviving now were close to zero.
"£π÷∆ &$#{Ω ¢€√¥£%Πμ." The being chanted, making the runes that littered his body pulsate in an eerie yet seemingly divine light.
Gradually, the runes that decorated the being's body began wriggling about as they slowly spread across Alistair's sea of consciousness.
It looksd like a bunch of snakes were claiming Alistair's sea of consciousness as their possession.
As the runes fully covered Alistair's sea of consciousness, they stopped glowing eerily and immediately shone in a malevolent light that would make all those who laid their eyes on it be suffocated by the pressure it radiated.
"Can't you do anything?" Alistair asked Eleven, wincing from the immense pain he felt from the depths of his soul.
Still retaining her monotonous voice, Eleven replied.
"I am trying my best."
Her tone sounded unhurried, making it seem like she was unbothered by the thoughts of Alistair dying.
And that wasn't too far off as even if Alistair died, she would be unhurt. Apart from getting scolded by the System god for making another of her host die, nothing else would happen to her.
This wasn't the first time her host would die and it would certainly not be the last. At the end, Alistair would become another unfortunate soul.
Unaware of what was in Eleven's mind, Alistair endured the pain he was feeling as those blue black runes in his sea of consciousness slowly appeared on his body.
Tttsssss...
With the sound of flesh getting dipped in hot oil resounding through the garden, Alistair's body slowly emitted steam as the runes inscribed themselves on him.
His body had become a scary shade of red, making it seem like he was piece of molten iron that had just been brought out of a furnace.
Scared shitless, the raccoon that was previously worshipping Alistair had ran far away from where Alistair was with only one thought on its mind.
'This shiny poop is too freaky.'
Not too far away from were Alistair was getting roasted, Alyeen had surprise written on her face when she saw the steam being emitted from within the garden.
Bothered, Alyeen ran to the spot where she saw the steam being released from only to see a molten red Slime was its cause.
The Slime currently looked like a piece of molten steel with blue black runes all over its body.
The runes on the Slime continuously pulsated as they gradually dug into the Slime's body, making the Slime writhe in agony due to the pain that assaulted him.
It wasn't just the pain he felt that made his situation seem hopeless but the screen Alistair saw in front of him made him get plunged deep within a well of despair.
— –
[Evolution process has been halted due to Divine interference.]
[The host's Evolution would begin immediately after the Divine presence within the host has dispersed.]
— –
The Evolution he had been deeply hoping would stop the being from taking control of his body had suddenly come to a halt, making his current situation seem more hopeless.
Aware that it was pointless to curse the System, Alistair continuously endured the pain he felt until he felt something warm touch his scorching body.
Although he felt unbearably hot, the warmth that Alistair felt was vastly different from the one currently consuming him.
The one consuming him was unbearable and painful, while the one he just felt was akin to the loving hug of a mother. But still quite different as it felt more like the hug of a close one.
This time it was not the physical warmth of the hug –as that would be impossible to feel with how hot he was, but the emotional side that accompanied the host.
That warmth had touched upon a part of Alistair's heart that he had locked away.
"Why?" Startled, Alistair asked no one in particular as he stared at the person who held him in her hands.
Although he was surprised by the girl still holding onto him despite her body getting burnt, what shocked him more was the familiar aura he felt radiating off her.
It was the aura of the second to the last person he sensed before his death. In other words, Alyeen was currently radiating the aura of the angel who had slayed him.
And the aura she radiated was constantly healing the burns that appeared on her skin, making it tougher over time but doing little to nothing in subsiding the pain she felt.
Overwhelmed by a myriad of emotions, Alistair muttered. "Thank you, for always being by my side."
Whether he said that because Alyeen looked similar to the person he loved in his previous life or because he was grateful, no one could tell apart from Alistair.
Surprised by the voice she suddenly heard in her mind, Alyeen had a small smile on her face as she mouthed something inaudible.
Some thing about this interaction made her extremely happy but she couldn't tell what it was as anytime she tried to grasp it, it always seemed far away.
Slowly, Alistair's temperature reduced but the runes on his body and molten color still remained –making it look like he was about to be forged into a proper vessel.
"It didn't have to end this way Alistair." The being sighed, shaking his head he added. "May you find peace in your next life."
After he finished talking, the being's body gradually sunk into Alistair's sea of consciousness –making Alistair who had finally stopped writhing squirm in pain.
"Arghhhhh!!!"
Alistair roared within himself as his molten red body gradually cooled, turning into a piece of black rock that had strange runes inscribed on it. He looked nothing more than a man-made treasure that was crafted by the best sculptor.
It wasn't only Alistair's outside that solidified but the inner parts of his body too. Heck, his core wasn't spared as it had become a piece of obsidian within him.
With his core now becoming a piece of rock, Alistair's soul gradually fell into in the Reaper's hands. But before he died, he saw a blue screen and a red screen flash in front of him.
