(Fein P.O.V)
I walk into the door with Hunter. My body becomes cold, and I feel tired. I feel like oce is seeping into my veins, and I feel part of myself missing. I can't stay awake for long, and pass out.
When I wake up again, I'm still frozen, but my body feels whole. I open my eyes and see a wall of glass. Where am I? I try to remember how I got here. My memories flood through my mind.
My life in Divibis, the Black Forest, the Room, and going through the door. Y head feels like it's burning, but the Frost still covers my body completely.
I try to look out the glass window, and see vague silhouettes of two people. One is holding something and the other is looking either at me or away from me.
The first person waves their hand, and I feel the pressure around me release. The glass door opens up and I fall out.
I try to catch myself, but my knees lock up. Someone catches me. Their skin feels like fire pressed up against me. I I try to pull them closer.
I look up and see Hunter. He looks concerned and asks something to the other person. I feel something on my head, and lightning seems to go through my body.
My joints pop and crack, my muscles spasm and clench, and the frost covering me melts off. Y whole body is hot, too hot. Almost like a fever. I try to stand up, but my legs give out.
Hunter picks me up and carries me away. I feel my mind slipping from me, and colors blur together. I can't make sense of anything going on, but I feel safe with Hunter by me.
He puts me down and I feel a soft bed on my back. Too soft. I have never felt anything like it before, and I feel like my body needs in with it. Something stabs me in the arm, and my eyes shoot open.
My body cools down to a normal temperature, and I see Hunter with another girl in the room. I see both of them are naked, but I don't pay too much attention to that.
The girl helps me sit up on the bed, and hands me a glass of water and a small object. It reminds me of the crystal that brought me to the Room. I look over to Hunter, and he points to his mouth, before imitating drinking the water.
I put the object in my mouth, and drink the water. Only know do I realize how thirsty I am, but the water is hard to swallow. I force myself to drink it, and ask for more water.
The girl nods, and gives me another glass. I lay there for awhile before I feel better. I stand up slowly, and Hunter leads me out of the room. We reach a large rectangular room with tables in it.
The girl places some food in front of me, and I eat it viciously. The food is gone, but I still feel empty. I look at Hunter, and he looks concerned and frightened. The girl brings more food, and I eat for almost an hour straight.
When I do finish, I pass out on Hunter's shoulder.
(Hunter P.O.V)
I sit there with Fein on my shoulder for awhile, before I look over at Elaine.
"What happened?"
She looks at me, and at Fein. She does a few more checks before eshe looks over to me again.
"It would appear the teleportation pod had an issue. It was supposed to completely cleanse her body, but it failed. This caused the diseases in her body to multiply exponentially, and chase her to be weak and dying. She should be fine now; the medicine I gave her should get rid of anything dangerous."
She sits down next to Fein. While in the teleport pod room, my suspicion was confirmed. There is no magic in this world, but she channeld electricity into her. Her pupils changed size drastically, and she could find out exactly what was wrong with her without any equipment.
Elaine is a robot. Or, to be more precise, an advanced A.I with a humanoid body.
My suspicion started because of her sudden changes in demeanor and her clinical analysis of everything. Also because the things that a human would have to use was untouched when I woke up. Her metallic taste was the last evidence I needed, but there was no concrete proof.
I just hope she isn't a crazy A.I that wants to kill us or something. We sit there for an hour before Fein wakes up. She looks around confused before she sees me.
"Where are we?" Elaine answers before I can. "You are on the galactic teleportation test facility. You are the second person to ever successfully survive being teleported. I am Elaine, the commander of this ship."
Fein looks over to Elaine. She studies her for a moment, before she holds out her hand. "Fein, nice to meet you."
To be honest, I was worried she would be angry. She clearly knows what happened, as she glanced down at both of our privates, but she doesn't seem concerned at all.
They shake hands, and Fein asks, "What do you mean by teleportation? And galactic?"
Elaine grabs her clipboard. She writes down some notes before she answers.
"You were transported from one corner of the known galaxy to the other without ever moving. By galactic, I mean that this ship has been registered and recognized by the Ninth Circle government of galactic affairs. This is a research facility that studies the movement of object through space that don't move. Do you have any other questions?"
Fein looks at her unimpressed. She then bombards her with quests for the next several hours, having more questions after each answer.
