I ran through the streets, dashing past people. A loud screech rang out from behind, a behemoth monster chasing me.
'Why is it ignoring everyone else?! What did I do?!'
It chased me through an alley way, it's long sword like arms reaching out to me. It's mouth opened again, exposing rows of sharp teeth, before acid spit out.
I try to dodge, but the small alley makes it hard. Some of it hits my leg, burning through my pants and the back of my knee. I cringe at the pain, but I keep running.
It climbs over the buildings, running above the alley. As I reach the end, it jumps down at me. I make a small black fire in my hand, and push against it.
It's weight crushes down on me, but my hand goes through it's stomach, wretching a horrific howl from it. The fire burns it from the inside out, killing it quickly.
'Sword like limbs, four legs, two arms, hard exoskeleton, acid spit, and who knows what else! Damned hell spawns!'
A screen flashed in my face. It's not the usual one, it's color being green, instead of the translucent form of my system.

I feel a rush of power, and I see that my STR, AGI, and CON went up one. 'That will help a lot!' I get a notification from my system.
(Quest: survive 24 hours, reach level 5. Would you like to change quest to Challenge?)
The last Challenge was not worth it, but since I can level up here, it might be. After a few seconds of consideration, I decide to go with it.

'Huh?' I hear screeching in the distance, and the ground rumbles. I start running again, and as I enter the main road, I see what would best be described as a 'monster tsunami' coming right for me.
Massive trolls, more Demtans, snake like creatures, and much more, all rushing at me with reckless abandon. They completely ignore everyone else, there eyes wild and mad with rage.
Fuck.
I run away, using kinetic energy to boost myself. I active STR boost, and make as large of a fire as possible. I try to throw it, but it goes out before reaching 5 feet away.
I start lighting fire to everything around me, as the monster tsunami chases me, seemingly ignorant of everything around them. It rushes through the fire, and some of the weaker ones burn up.
The fire barley spreads, being smothered by the sheer amount of monsters. It killed some of the weaker ones, but that won't help me much.
' It seems my best option is to experiment!'
I use gravitational energy on myself, but on the opposite direction. My feet feel lighter, and I jump higher, but not enough. I try to use kinetic energy at the same time, but the results are miniscule.
I move up slightly, barley even a difference. 'Ok, so that won't work. What about this?' As I run, I kick my shoes and socks off. I make a small fire on the bottom of my feet, and use all of my boosts.
I go up higher, reaching the height of a medium sized building. This'll have to do. I jump to a building, not wanting to stay on the ground. I keep running across the buildings, slowing down the monsters, and find myself at a gun shop soon after.
I barely even think about it, and jump down. Most of the store is destroyed, with only a small section still on one piece. It holds pistols and some magazines. I smile widely.
"Apocalypse with a gun? Hell yes!" I put a few magazines into my pockets, and grab 2 of the guns. There lighter than I thought, but that must be because of my stats.
I hear the monsters getting close to me, and resume jumping from building to building. At the same time, I shoot at the monsters, some of them being wounded or killed after a few shots.
They're pretty strong, but not too strong. From what I can tell, there are a few types of monsters. Small and faster, with little defense, large and slow, with high defense, and large and fast, with high defense, like the Demtans.
The low defense ones are harder to hit, like the "Hyrents", a snake like monster. I don't know much about it, but it's fast and small, and probably venomous.
I level up a few times, but the rate is slowing down exponentially. Even after 10 kills, I don't level up past level 7.

The fire ball spell does nothing. It just actives my Passive, Energy Generation, but in a more circular shape. The monsters never seem to run out, but my bullets do.
The gun stops firing, and I reach into my pockets to find them empty. This is bad. I can't keep running, but I can't fight back either. I suddenly get a genius idea.
My Passive doesn't work with Enchant since it doesn't count as a spell, but fire ball does! I cast a fire ball with my right hand and hold a gun with my left.
I've never used Enchant while running, or with a fire spell, but I make it work, and the fire ball shrinks into the gun. It starts to heat up, and I throw it at the monsters.
Nothing happens. I wait. Nothing happens. I wait. I hear a screaming sound from a Hyrents. I wait. A massive explosion goes off, pushing me forwards, and making me fall.
I look behind to see a huge chunk of the horde is destroyed, and the rest is burning in the black fire.
"It worked! It actually worked!" I'm ecstatic about it. The Enchant spell has limits on it, and the black fire is supposedly from a demon, and my Passive is an Epic rank.
It shouldn't have worked, but it still did! The smoldering remains of monster corpses are all I see in front of me, until 2 screens appear.
