As we walk through the silent streets, I continue to watch Fein. She seems happier, for sure, with light footsteps, and gleaming eyes. I can tell how much it helped her to get it out of her.
Her eyes remain sharp, but they're not tense. She still looks like she's looking for something specific, but I don't say anything about it.
Whenever we come across a monster, Fein would distract it, while I used the black Fireball to kill it. I'm getting much better at throwing it, giving me some sort of range. It's been boring, just walking aimlessly, but there's not much else we can do.
The other worlds we know of won't be of much use, and going to a new one could be dangerous. It might be just in my head, but I think the worlds are getting harder as I go to more of them.
The best thing I could do would be to learn more about the demons and gods, seeing how powerful they are. They could also know why I'm here, and if I have any goal, or reason to go through the doors.
(Pieces: 2/?-- Piece types: 1/7--Hell's right hand-- Burning Wings of the Fallen)
I got a new screen on the system, which is labeled "divinities". With an unknown amount of pieces, and 7 piece types, gathering them is likely important. I got one from this world, and one from another world in the same room.
It's getting closer to sunset, but I plan on trying my wings again. They're called the Wings of the Fallen, which tells me a decent amount about them. 1: They are wings. When I felt them crawling under my skin, I wasn't quite sure I was right about it.
2: The wings came from something that was originally holy, but has fallen from grace. This is more speculation, as it could have a few meanings, but this one seems like the most likely.
We head inside a restaurant. It has a large interior, with a lot of open space, and a high ceiling. The middle has been cleared by something, and none of the tables are anywhere to be seen.
We sit on the floor, and I let Fein rest first. She falls asleep quickly, very exhausted from the walking and crying of the day. She likes to put up a strong front, but she is deeply scarred from what she went through.
She told me only the general idea of what was going on, and it brought her to tears. She looks peaceful as she sleeps, but her eyes are red.
With nothing around, I decide to try my wings again. I take my shirt off, and sit criss-cross, with my back straight. I feel the energy in my body, looking for the orbs of energy on my back. I gently feel around them, trying to get them to work.
The itching starts up, but not nearly as bad as before. I can feel the dark energy in the orbs slowly releasing, pushing against my skin. It crawls around, spreading out under my skin.
It hurts, but I push on. I slowly let it push harder, breaking through the skin bit by bit. It's not nearly as bad as when the wings fused with me, but it's still very painful.
I breath deep, and slow, fighting the urge to scream. I used Vocals to try and numb the pain. It helped a little, which is good. I use my breathing as the medium for the Passive, and make my brain ignore my body.
Everything else is completely numb, but my shoulder blades feel like they're on fire. The wings push harder, bulging the skin. I try to have it go slow, but it breaks through, bringing tears to my eyes. I hold my breath, not wanting to wake Fein.
The wings expande, each one being 5 feet long, and 3 feet wide. They're made of a leather-like material, that's pitch black like the claw. As the pain passes, I slowly deactivate my Passive, bringing feeling to my body again.
I breath slowly, and Mana Healing repairs the destroyed muscle and skin. When it stops hurting, I stand up, before I almost fall down again. My head is spinning, and I have a migraine. I guess I over used the Passive, which strained my mind.
I spread my wings, getting a feel for them. They feel natural, and I should definitely be able to fly with them. I stretch the wings, loosening the new muscles that it came with.
This one feels more permanent then the claw. It's probably because the only way to get rid of the wings would be to put them under my skin again. Not doing that, that's for sure. The wings feel more connected to me, but I have no idea how to use them.
I guess a wide open, empty space with no dangers around would be the best place to try them out. I take a deep breath, calming my racing heart. I stretch the wings as far as possible. They're very big, but not that heavy.
They stretch out, covering 12 feet across in total, and I feel an energy well up within them, making them stronger. The edges become more defined, and the tips curve in. I start running, and use gravitational energy to make myself lighter.
I flap my wings. It's clumsy, and very weak, but my lightened body still goes up, giving me flight. It's exhilarating, and I love it. I flap again, going higher. I pull the left wing higher, making me turn right.
I slowly fly around the open room, keeping my eyes open for any danger. It would be very easy to lose myself in this sensation. The wind rushes past my hair, which has reached to the base of my neck. I glode down, landing next to the sleeping Fein.
