"I will tell you directly. You are weak. Horribly so. You will die if you continue as is. Signing a contract is the only way you can live." Her voice is deep and feminine, carrying power behind each word. I can feel the energy radiating off of her like the sun.
"What would happen if I signed a contract with you?" The demon from before warned me to watch my words, so I speak with respect and try not to make her angry. "As you may know, I am the goddess of light. I hold everything that is, was, and will be, and reveal everything that has and will happen. In order to gain anything from a contract with me, you must first remove everything you have, lest you be corrupted and destroyed.
This includes yourself. Your mortal existence is weak, and filled with darkness. You must have your soul purified if you wish to gain the powers of light." Unlike the demon, she speaks clearly and with determination, like everything happening is important. "I don't think I would be willing to remove everything. Thank you for your time, goddess of light." I bow my head.
"I see. Then, you will have many troubles in your future. Be weary of my angels, for they work not on my will alone." She disappears in a flash of light. When my sight goes back into focus, I look at the next notification. This one is red, the color of destruction.
(A demon is offering help)
This one gives me a good impression, seeing how they want to help, according to the message. I focus on the notification, and a volley of tiny explosions go off on front of me. They form together into a body, solidifying into a human form. He looks around slowly, like he's taking in everything in detail. He looks back to me, before he is suddenly directly in my face.
"You must be the mortal they have been talking about. You do seem interesting indeed. If you wish to sign a contract, I can do that too! I have a cool bow, it turns into knives when some gets too close, and can make things far away EXPLODE! I can't give it to you, but I have weaker ones that can do the same thing, and they have a really cool design, and they DESTROY everything in front of them, and they look cool!"
He speaks very fast, like he's desperate to get out each word. He takes no breaks as he talks, like he doesn't need air. He isn't wearing a mask, but his skin is deep red, like it's on fire, and his hair is made of fire, flowing behind him in complex patterns. He's wearing what looks like hunting armor, light leather pads, some areas having little to no armor. He doesn't seem to have the bow with him, or any arrows, but I can feel the energy inside of him. It's like the middle of a star, ready to burst out at any second.
He seems unstable at first glance, but everything he does and says is in a controlled chaos, a method behind the madness. Based on how he acted when he got here, being slowly looking around, he clearly has some control over himself, even if it's not showing right now.
"I'll think about it. There are still a few others I haven't talked to yet. Thank you for your time." He floats away from me, seemingly sad, but hopeful. "I guess I'll just have to wait. Ok bye!" He explodes, sending an inferno of dark red fire blasting through the air. It doesn't hurt me, but I can feel how hot it is. That's some serious power!
When the heat passes, I look at the notifications again, but decide to skip the purple one. This one should be the demon of death.
(A demon is suggesting you leave the girl)
No way am I ever signing a contract with that one. Not even worth hearing out. I look at the next one instead.
(A god is suggesting you sacrifice yourself for her)
Green, the color of life. The first demon told me that the gods have strict rules, proven by the goddess of light, but I still want to see what they have to offer. A flower spouts from the air, a soft yellow dandelion. It unfurls, revealing a man sitting on the petals.
Except, he's not really a 'man'. A skeletal hand reaches out, palm up. "You have blood on your hands. You have spread death to many, but it is not too late. If you repent for the slain, you may sign a contract with me. The cost would be that you would not be able to take life, of any kind. You would gain the ability to communicate with any living thing." His voice is deep and heavy, and he has a green robe draped over him.
He speaks slowly, like he has all the time in the world. No killing? That doesn't sound like something I could deal with. How would I defeat Cerberus if I can't kill it? Last time I checked, it wasn't in the mood for talking, as it shot fireballs at me. The skeleton has a leaf spear leaning against him, which is odd. If he is strictly against killing, why does he have a weapon?
"I don't believe signing a contract with you would align with my goals. Thank you for your time." He nods in understanding, and the dandelion furls back into itself, reverse sprouting. A few petals float down when it completely disappeares. Tow more to go. Pink and grey.
I hear a loud, screeching, horrifying sound, like ripping iron, and the crack of a whip mixed together. The air in front of me tears open, revealing a seemingly endless expanse of random objects, places, and other miscellaneous things. A woman walks through the tear, wearing pink robes and a mask on her face. The mask only covers the bottom of her face, leaving her eyes open. Her hair is the shortest so far, only to her shoulders, and it's tied with ribbons.
She's holding a whip, at least 20 feet long from what I can tell, as it's currently curled up. She's the shortest as well, almost a full foot shorter than me. Her eyes are pink, similar to Fein's, and her demeanor is serious and all business. "You are...the mortal...who has cought...the attention of...all seven...gods and... demons of...the higher realms..."
She takes deep, labored breaths between words, like she can't breathe. Her voice is slightly deeper then I thought it would be, though still quite high. She looks around, seeing Cerberus in the distance. Her eyes flash hatred for a second, before returning to a more neutral look. "I don't believe... you would have
.. much to... gain from... signing a contract... with me..."
