Chapter 16 - System Expansion and Genres

While Fein and Elaine are talking, I get a notification from my system.

(System ready for expansion! Choose Genres and Limits!)

It gives me a list of genres, some I know of, and some that are quite different. I choose horror, terror, digital, video game, something called generic, and smut. There was no way I wouldn't choose smut.

The Limits are literally the Limits I have. There are a few choices, and each have some negative effect.

(Awareness- you can choose a select number of people in each door and make them aware of the Room. If you use this on them, they will remain conscious even when you are out of the room, but will be unable to make change

Follower- any number of people can be brought to the Room, but each person you add costs 1 stat points [random]

Harem builder- become more powerful for each person you add to Harem List based on how strong they are. Harem List has limited space

Stat transfer- all gained stats move with you between all doors and Rooms, but so do conditions

)

I look over the list a few times. Awareness seems cruel. They are awake and aware while I am gone, but they are unable to do anything, not even breath. Follower seems ok, but I have no reason to have more people with me. And the cost is per person, so it wouldn't even be something I could use often.

Harem builder might be good, but I can easily get stronger myself. This also means that, when I am stronger, I will have to go to a new world or seek some one out that is more powerful than me. And the limit on number of people is bad. I want as many girls as possible.

Stat transfer seems to be the best. That means I can have magic in the Sci-fi Worlds, and INT In the fantasy worlds. Conditions also transferring is not something I am too worried about. If I am poisoned in one world, I would be poisoned in all of them. I don't plan on getting poisoned or anything like that any time soon.

It would mean that if I get injured, It would be much worse, but if I'm smart, than it should be safe. I think this is the best one, so I choose it.

(Stat transfer gained! Adding all stats to status screen!)

STR 36 AGI 34 DEX 3 CON 38 MP 38 INT 1 HP 25

I didn't even think of that! The extra 4 MP I get from the second world and the extra 1 MP from the first world are in my status now, so I have 38 in total. Definitely the right choice!

The description for INT also changed. (INT: adds to the minds ability to process and retain information, as well as improving control of energies inside the body.)

Much better than before. I would guess that 'energies inside the body' would refer to things like mana. Processing information faster would be very useful in fights, and in general. Retaining information is very good. I don't want to leave a world and forget about if I'm gone for too long.

As the conversation between Fein and Elaine slows down, I hear Fein ask something.

"Has Hunter told you about the Room?" Elaine looks at her confused for a moment. "Room? I don't understand what room you are speaking of." Fein start to talk, but is cut off before anything comes out. She starts coughing and has trouble breathing.

She gets back up quickly though, so she should be ok. She looks over to me. "Is this what happened to you when you tried to tell me? I nod my head.

"Not nearly as intense though. That was strange." Elaine looks confused still, but understands that we can't talk about it. Instead, she changes the topic.

"When I was analyzing you, I found a strange energy inside of you, Fein. And Hunter suddenly released a large amount of the same energy a few moments ago. You don't happen to know what this energy is, do you?"

It must be mana. I act quickly and stop Fein from talking. "It might be a side effect from the teleportation. If we went from one side of the known galaxy to the other, we might of ran into something, or particles mixed together in an unnatural way."

Elaine thinks for a second, and slowly nods her head. "That is indeed possible. I will have to look into it."

I tell Elaine that we should sleep, and lead Fein to the sleep pods. Before we get in, I tell her,

"Mana doesn't exist in this world. It probably won't for most of the rooms other than the one you came from. I would like to not have to tell everyone that we have unexplainable power from seemingly nowhere."

She nods her head. We get into our sleep pods and fall asleep easily.

I wake up after about 8 hours and open the pod. I see that Fein is still asleep, so I head over to the cafeteria for breakfast. Fein joins me not too long after, and we eat in peace. I start to think about this world.

The first one I was in the Black Forest, a dangerous dungeon with powerful monsters. The second one started with a teammate almost being killed by a monster bear in a dungeon. This world has been peaceful so far.

It kind of concerns me, but a test sample of three isn't very much. So, I just sit back and enjoy the time here.

Or, I was, until my theory proved correct.

The ship was suddenly knocked off course, and a large explosion went off outside. The entire ship rocked and shudder, but it didn't break.

I ran over to the control room and saw Elaine maneuvering the ship away. I looked out the cameras and saw another ship. It was lightly armored, but extremely fast. It zipped around us and shot what looks like beams of energy that explode on impact.

One of the cameras go out, and we have a blind spot. They target there and our ships defenses wildly shoot at it. Elaine looks deep in concentration, so I observe silently. I don't see any way I can help, but we could be in danger of this goes on.

I use Return to buy myself some time to think. I wake up in the Room and see a shocked and confused Fein laying next to me.
