CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
ROXANNE'S POV
I arrived at work a little late on Thursday morning. I had taken the day before, off. It was certainly not a good idea to appear late after taking an entire day off, but sleep had wearily crept into my waking time.
The no-nonsense Dera was just as she had always been, squeezing her face. I made to pass into the cleaning unit, but it seemed Dera's mouth had itched her too greatly
"The early bird catches the worm, every learned person knows that Roxanne. I hope you can see just how dense you are" Dera insulted, halting me.
I was short of words. After Dera's insolence had gone for a brief holiday, I could see it had returned.
"Dera, please just... Let me be" I pleaded calmly. I wasn't prepared for any battle with her.
She snickered "Let you be? Just because you've begun a little entente cordiale with the CEO, doesn't give you the right to appear and disappear as you wish"
