CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE
ROXANNE'S POV
Mara finally returned. She held two ice creams in her hands. By then, my mood had been soured by Richard's proclamation. He still lurked around, hoping to send some words into my tired eardrum.
The discourse between me and Richard brought back the feelings caused by Dera's biting insensitive words. The tribulations of the day threatened to burst out as hot tears from my eyes. Why couldn't people just mind their business?
"What's wrong? You look….sad. Is it about the amount of time I spent at the Ice cream stand?" Mara asked in concern
"Oh No! Mara, it's not about you. It's just…" I hung the statement, not sure if revealing would be the best thing to do.
"Anyway. I guess we got lucky with guys today" she said, forgoing the hanging statement
"We got lucky? How so?" I was in great wonderment.
