Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Argument.

As Kazuya walked home with his friends, the afternoon sun cast long shadows across the pavement, and a gentle breeze whispered through the air. They chatted animatedly, their voices blending harmoniously as they discussed various topics that had caught their interest.

Hiro led the conversation, delving into the intricacies of their latest class assignment, while Mei offered her insights on a recent news article she had read. Kazuya listened attentively, occasionally interjecting with his own thoughts and observations.

As they walked, Kazuya couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. A prickling sensation crawled up the back of his neck, and he cast furtive glances over his shoulder, searching for any signs of surveillance. But the streets were quiet, and there was no one in sight.

Shrugging off his unease, Kazuya focused on the conversation at hand, allowing the familiar rhythm of his friends' voices to soothe his nerves. They laughed and joked, their camaraderie a comforting presence amidst the growing shadows of the evening.

Finally, they reached Kazuya's house, a modest structure nestled among the trees at the end of the street. With a reluctant sigh, Kazuya bid his friends farewell, promising to meet up again soon. They exchanged warm hugs and playful punches on the shoulder before parting ways, each disappearing into the gathering dusk.

As Kazuya stepped through the front door of his house, he couldn't shake the feeling that someone was still watching him, their eyes lingering in the darkness just beyond his sight. But just he closed the door behind him.

As he made his way further into the house, his footsteps echoing softly on the floorboards, Kazuya's ears caught the distant murmur of voices. Frowning, he paused, straining to make out the words. It was his parents, he realized, their voices carrying from the direction of their room.

The words were indistinct, blurred by the closed doors that stood between them, but Kazuya could sense the tension in their voices. His parents were arguing, their words sharp with frustration and emotion.

Unable to resist his curiosity, Kazuya edged closer to the door, his heart pounding in his chest. He strained to hear, catching snippets of phrases amidst the rising tide of emotions.

"...not ready... truth..." his mother's voice murmured, her words weighted with concern.

"...protect him... too dangerous..." his father's voice replied, his tone firm and resolute.

Kazuya's brow furrowed in confusion. What truth were they talking about? And why did they think he wasn't ready to hear it?

As the argument continued, Kazuya felt a pang of hurt and confusion. He had always believed that he and his parents shared everything, that there were no secrets between them. But now, as he listened to their heated exchange, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something they were keeping from him, something important and potentially life-changing.

With a determined resolve, Kazuya pushed open the door to his parents' room, the hinges creaking softly in protest. His parents, startled by his sudden entrance, turned towards him with surprise etched on their faces. Their expressions quickly shifted, however, as they regained their composure and tried to mask their unease.

"Kazuya, what are you doing here?" his mother asked, her voice tinged with concern, while his father's gaze hardened, a flicker of annoyance crossing his features.

Ignoring their attempts to deflect his question, Kazuya stepped further into the room, his eyes locking onto theirs with unwavering determination.

"I heard you arguing," he said firmly, his voice steady despite the turmoil swirling inside him. "What were you talking about? What truth am I not ready to know?"

His parents exchanged a glance, their expressions tense with indecision. For a moment, the room hung heavy with silence, broken only by the sound of Kazuya's ragged breaths.

Finally, his father spoke, his voice low and measured. "Kazuya, everything is alright. There are just some things that..... you're not ready to understand yet. It's just complicated."

But Kazuya wasn't satisfied with his father's vague reassurances. He pressed on, his eyes narrowing with determination.

"No, I want to know," he insisted, his voice rising with frustration. "I deserve to know the truth."

His father's stern expression softened slightly, a mixture of pity and exasperation flashing in his eyes. "Kazuya, this is not the time or place for this discussion. Go to your room."

But Kazuya refused to back down. "No, I'm not leaving until you tell me," he declared, his voice trembling with emotion.

With a heavy sigh, his father's patience snapped. "Enough, Kazuya!" he snapped, his voice laced with authority. "Go to your room, now."

Feeling defeated but unwilling to give up, Kazuya turned on his heel and stormed out of the room.

"Aoi I think that was too much, don't you think you were too hard on him?" Kaguya's mother said.

Aoi sighs and says " I know, it's just that.... I don't know what to do, my love."

Misaka, the mother of Kazuya, hugged Aoi.

"This is just a tough situation for us, i just hope everything will be alright" says Misaka.

"Yea.... I hope so too"

Little did they know, that night something big will happen.
