"Sorel, dear, when are we going to move on to real action?"
An elderly man licked his dry lips lustfully.
He was blindfolded and his wrists were bound to the bed with metal handcuffs.
Sorel leaned close to his ear and whispered, "shhh. Foreplay is very important to spice things up darling. Now just relax and enjoy."
Sorel ran his fingers down the old man's body in a seductive way.
The old man shuddered and licked his lips harder.
Sorel smiled and grabbed some metal wrist bands and placed them on the clueless man's wrists.
"What's going on! My body! I feel weak... Sorel? Sorel where are you? What have you done?"
Sorel ignored him and instead proceeded to pull out some thick Dimeritium chains with which he bound the limp old man from head to toe.
"Sorel! What the hell are you doing!"
"I'm only doing what I've been ordered to do."
Sorel stood to one side and a blue portal appeared at the old man's feet, from which a handsome man with long hair emerged.
Viltz removed the old man's blindfold and smiled at him.
'Hello Ortolan, do you still remember me?'
"You...You are! You are the boy I did the eye transplant on!"
"I see your memory is still functional, that's good."
"What do you want from me? And what have you done to Sorel? He would never have done anything like that to me before!"
"Nothing special, I just convinced him to work for me. Which I plan to do with you too."
Viltz placed his hands on the old man's head and began the soul enslaving process.
Five minutes later, Viltz released Ortolan, who struggled to his feet before kneeling and saluting solemnly.
"Greetings my lord!"
"Rise!"
The new investigating Viltz, now with a different body along with Idarran stepped out of a doorway and stood next to the Viltz prime.
Viltz cleared his throat and spoke to the six individuals before him.
"Your main job will be to research the unicorn's body and create a device that emulates its power to open inter-dimensional portals.
You may use any part of its body except the heart and horn. I want you to leave those two elements intact."
Then Viltz looked at Ortolan and spoke to him in a solemn tone.
"Ortolan. I am aware that the sorcerer's brotherhood has you under surveillance and that they have many spies among the people residing inside Rissberg Castle.
I want you from time to time to kidnap one of the master sorcerers there and bring him to me so that I can make him our ally but I will tell you again. You must be extremely cautious, we alone can not face the 15 sorcerer masters and more than 80 sorcerers adepts, not counting the sorcerers of the brotherhood that if they come to know of our actions they would surely take strong measures.
We must take things calmly and go step by step.
I will create a secret laboratory in a place away from all traces of life, any of you will be able to enter using a portal but if anyone other than you tries to enter it will be immediately detected and neutralized.
That's all I have to say, you can familiarize yourselves with each other, I will go create the lab and let you know when I have everything ready."
Finishing with his words, Viltz opened a portal and left to search for an optimal location where to set up the secret lab.
A month later, Viltz had finished creating the lab and met with Ortolan's group, passing them some tokens with which they could access the lab before teleporting to his clone and giving him two more tokens, one for him and one for Idarran.
Finally, Viltz moved the body of the unicorn that despite losing its soul, its basic motor functions were still functioning.
Viltz cast a spell on it that would take care of keeping its vital signs stable although anything else would be impossible for him to do.
Viltz looked down at the unicorn's body and sighed.
"You are the key to further optimizing my plan for transcendence. If this world in and of itself already has the ingredients necessary to complete the Genesis project, I can't imagine what I will become if I add the powers and knowledge of those other worlds to the mix."
Stroking the unicorn's fur one last time, Viltz opened a portal and exited the premises.
As Viltz returned to his room, he clasped both hands together and began to recite a spell. Sweat began to form on his forehead but he still continued to chant.
The veins swelled on his forehead and neck from the exertion but he still kept walking while reciting.
Suddenly, Viltz spread his hands apart and streams of green light gathered in his palm, forming a cocoon of green light.
Smiling with joy, Viltz raised his hand with the cocoon of light to the sky.
The cocoon dissipated, revealing a beautiful butterfly with a rainbow-colored pattern on its wings.
The butterfly spread its wings and began to fly, leaving behind it a tail of seven-colored light dust as it flapped its wings.
The butterfly landed on the hand of a little girl about eight years old who watched the scene with fascination.
The girl touched the butterfly and noticed how it was warm to the touch.
"Waw! How did you do that? There was no butterfly in your hand before! Can you show me?"
"Haha! That's called creation magic! The hardest type of magic to master that only a handful of sorcerers have been able to use.
I've barely scratched the surface of this magic and I'm not proficient enough at it to teach anyone else, plus you don't have the knowledge to even begin to understand this type of magic."
"So I can't learn to create butterflies?" Lena lowered her head dejectedly.
"I didn't say that! I only said that it's not the time yet. That's why I'm telling you that you should study more. In the future, when I feel you're ready, I'll teach you how to use this magic."
As Viltz said earlier, creation magic was considered the pinnacle of magical achievements a sorcerer could have. Unlike transformation magic, which transmutes already existing objects into something different, or illusion, which creates unreal images, sounds and sensations that exist only in the mind, creation magic is capable of creating completely new, real and material objects and beings using only an energy source such as the power of chaos as the main material.
Strictly speaking it would not be creation but rather transforming energy into matter but still such an achievement in itself was something that could be considered a feat worthy of the gods.
"You can have that butterfly, if anything strange happens to it let me know."
"Good!" Lena returned to her room with the butterfly in her hands.
Viltz went into his room and continued to practice, creating different objects with the magic of creation.
During these three years, he did not spend his time alone studying in Oxenfurt but devoted himself to learning this very complicated magic that even the most ancient sorcerers did not manage to master 100%.
The magic of creation was a key part of his plan for transcendence but it was so difficult to master that it required all of his free time to study it, leaving him no time to focus on other projects.
As Viltz practiced, suddenly a portal opened inside the room and the doppler Viltz, now looking different, stepped out of it with a grumpy face.
Viltz frowned and asked him directly, "What's wrong?"
"It's those damn black dragons, they're in pairs all the time and won't stay away from their young and their eggs, I can't even get close to their nests. I've been chased three times! And the worst thing is that those fuckers have spread the word among themselves and now all their nests are extremely guarded!"
"Hmmm. That's a problem. How about this, for the time being let's leave the black dragons aside and instead concentrate on the other tribes.
I'll try to find you some assistants in the meantime."
"Right."
The Viltz doppler reopened a portal, returning to complete his missions.
"Hmmm, originally I didn't want to abuse this slavery spell so much but since it's so effective I think I should take it a step further and not just limit myself to trying to control a single organization."
Viltz opened a portal to his lab and grabbed a red colored potion.
It was a potion that the research Viltz developed using the blood of the Dopplers and later improved upon using the blood of the Doppler Viltz.
What the potion did was to give its consumer the ability to copy a doppler for 24 hours.
"Hmm, let's see, if I remember correctly the future king of Cintra, Dagorad, was born a year ago.
I should pay him a visit to get him under my control from now on. If I were to try in the future it would be impossible for me."
Opening a portal to Cintra, Viltz let a few insect spies fly out from under his robe and infiltrate the castle, keeping an eye on the various servants, especially the maidservants in charge of the young prince.
It was not until a week later that Viltz found the opportunity to infiltrate the castle.
One of Dagorad's nannies secretly left the castle and met a mysterious man in an alley.
They started kissing in the middle of the alley before the man pulled her through the door of one of the houses in the alley.
Viltz didn't care about the lovers' privacy, he directly burst through the door and knocked them both half undressed.
Drinking the entire potion in one gulp, Viltz forced the unconscious woman's eyes open and stared intently at her for a while before her body began to mysteriously change.
His long black hair changed to a chestnut color and shrunk halfway down, magically tying itself into a ponytail.
His tunic transformed into a maid's dress and his entire body shrank from its original 6'4" to 5'6" and his muscles melted, turning into a couple of small bulges in his chest.
"I feel strange..."
Checking himself down there, Viltz let out a sigh of relief that his little friend hadn't disappeared.
"I guess I found the weak spot in the doppler transformation."
A stream of memories entered Viltz's mind.
They were the memories of the maid. They contained the memories of her entire life for as long as she could remember until a moment ago.
With a smile, Viltz walked out of the alley and re-entered the castle through the back entrance.
"Lucia! Where have you been? The young master needs his diapers changed! I've been looking for you for five minutes!"
"Sorry, I had to go to the bathroom and took longer than I should have, hehe."
Viltz apologized to a middle-aged woman who appeared to be the head maid before rushing off to the prince's quarters.
There he found a child a few months old lying in the gutter sleeping.
"Okay, let's get this right. I've got five minutes before the castle's defenses alert to the use of magic in the castle."
He first opened a few drawers and purposely messed them up before grabbing one of the decorative swords on the wall of the room and putting it around his waist.
Finishing with the preparations to throw off his opponents, Viltz placed a finger on the baby's forehead and began reciting the enslavement spell.
A few minutes later, he finished reciting and the baby woke up.
With a simple spell, Viltz put it back to sleep before opening a portal to the outskirts of Brokilon Forest, from there, he opened another portal to the outskirts of Themeria and finally opening another to the outskirts of Oxenfurt.
A few seconds later, another portal opened to the outskirts of Brokilon, from which a hunchbacked old man emerged.
The old man's eyes contracted at the sight of where he was and his face immediately grew bearish.
"This is going to prove very troublesome if those dryads are involved."
The man returned to the baby's room and carefully checked the young prince and realizing he was perfectly fine, he let out a sigh of relief before checking the false clues left by Viltz.
"It seems the intruder was looking for something, I will have to report this matter to his majesty."
