"STOP!!!" The yell was so loud it seemed to echo off of the surrounding buildings. It's effect were even more exaggerated. The students who were watching the fight all seemed to freeze. Some even held their breath as if they were ordered to stop breathing.
Rowin, being the target of the voice, was experiencing the worst effects as he felt his mind and body basically shut down. He lost all feeling and even his eyesight darkened. He started to fall as he lost connection to his ability. Rowin suddenly felt irrelevant, he felt puny and useless and the feeling only worsened as that one word kept echoing in his mind.
' I don't like this! I don't want to feel this! Make it stop! I refuse to be controlled! I am nobody's puppet! I won't listen to your rules!' Rowin screamed in his mind. He didn't know why but suddenly being forced to obey pissed him off beyond reason. Rowin's sight suddenly returned and he noticed that he was lying on the ground.
He immediately tried to stand up but he felt immense pain from his left side. He gave up on pushing his body so he lifted himself with telekinesis. A splitting headache assaulted Rowin but he didn't care. His eyes were fixed on the back of a bald man in a white coat. The man was holding Ryan in his arms as he turned to face Rowin.
"You can still move after I told you not to. Impressive but annoying, so Kneel." The man spoke slowly and quietly but his voice turned loud and commanding when saying the word kneel.
Boom!!!
The students stared at the ground where the bald man laid on his back. He had just been sent flying by a sneak attack from Rowin. The bald man rose up to see Ryan flying towards Rowin's outstretched hand. The instant the two touched, Ryan disappeared. An instant after Ryan's vanishing, Rowin violently convulsed and fell on the floor. Less than a quarter of a second later, Ryan's body suddenly reappeared next to Rowin.
The bald man walked towards the two unconscious teenagers as a team of healers pushed through the crowd of spectators. The healers surrounded the two teenagers and began using their abilities to stabilize them. The bald man turned to the crowd and told them to disperse, which they did with mechanical movements.
'The principal will be pissed off but the fact that there's now someone else who can put Ryan in his place should calm her a bit. I better leave this place before she calls me or whatever.' As soon as the bald man thought of this, he vanished just as mysteriously as he had appeared.
Inside a large office with minimalistic interior design, a beautiful, mature woman with straight black hair sat behind a large desk. The woman had wrinkles on her forehead caused by the deep frown on her face as she stared at the man seated opposite herself. The man was the same bald guy in a white coat who had stopped Ryan and Rowin's fight.
"Just show me the video first I'll ask the questions after." The woman, commonly known as Principal Gretta, said to the bald man. The bald man didn't say a word, he merely pointed at the large wooden table that separated them. The woman just sighed before she tapped the table gently. "Deza, show me a summarized representation of today's student fight. Make sure to provide background information first so that I can make an informed decision regarding the incident."
" As you wish Miss Gretta." A male voice said as the previously wooden table turned plain white. A hologram showing two teenagers was displayed above the blank table. " Today's incident was a fight involving Ryan Francis Sigeria and Rowin Hendrick Jacobson. Providing background information....
"Ryan Francis Sigeria has been in the academy for ten months and thirteen days. His ability is Lightning Body. From the moment he joined, he proved to be violent and difficult to control. Ryan is deemed a special case that requires constant monitoring.
"Rowin Hendrick Jacobson has been in the academy for five hours and thirty four minutes. His ability is Telekinesis. The assessment from Temia states that he is unstable and requires therapy. This is his first recorded outburst.
" Rowin was assigned to be Ryan's roommate upon registration into the academy's database. The fight is determined to have started inside Ryan's room soon after the two met. There is no surveillance in the rooms in order to preserve student privacy. The surveillance system captured Ryan being launched outside through the window hence determining that Rowin attacked first with his telekinesis."
The hologram changed and displayed a perfect three dimensional video of the whole fight. The commentary of the AI, Deza, wasn't entirely necessary at that point but Principal Gretta didn't interrupt it. She watched the video once before sighing deeply.
"This Rowin kid looks like he will be a pain to put up with. I can't have another Ryan in the academy, my sanity won't make it. Any ideas, baldy?" Principal Gretta asked the bald man who only lightly smiled.
" I didn't even want to be involved with this mess. Why would I stress myself with solutions for it?" The bald man said while leaning back into the soft chair.
" I don't need you to come up with the whole idea, I was planning on moving Rowin to a new room and I need you to help pick a roommate."
" If that's all I have to do then it's fine." The bald man said with a shrug.
" I have four students to choose from and I'll start from the best option. We can put him together with Trizor, the speedster. The second option is Christopher, the sloth. Third option is Evance, that little pervert. And as much as I'm against it, the last is Joshua. So, what do you think?"
" First of all, Joshua is off the table. He might be able to control other special cases but Rowin is different. Plus, Joshua's ability is a bit invasive, Rowin won't like that. He managed to resist my command, Joshua struggles to do the same but I feel like the command wouldn't have worked on Rowin if he wasn't distracted.
"Evance is also not an option unless you want him to be murdered. I mean, everyone wants him dead and the only reason he isn't is because killing in the academy has worse punishment than killing outside. Plus, Rowin looks like he would kill with no hesitation.
"Between Trizor and Christopher, I think that Trizor is the safest option. The only problem would be Trizor's outbursts. I guess we can only go with Christopher. His ability should make it easier for him to survive in case of anything." The bald man came to a conclusion and stood up to leave.
" Thanks for the help. One last thing, I want you to add Rowin to your little special training class." Upon hearing that, the bald man turned around with one eyebrow raised.
" Isn't that kid supposed to go through therapy? Putting him in my class will be extremely counterproductive."
"You've seen the look in his eyes, therapy is pointless. That kid is as sick in the head as you were at his age, except that you had a target but this kid doesn't. Letting someone like that lose on the world is downright stupid." Principal Gretta said with a serious look in her eyes.
"The healers should have finished tending to those two troublemakers. I'm leaving so you give Rowin the bad news. One last thing, make sure you make the meat spicy for tomorrows family dinner. The old man will be there and you know how he gets." The bald man said as he left Principal Gretta's office.
"And you better grow some hair, baldy." Principal Gretta muttered under her breath. She sighed softly before requesting for Rowin to be brought to her office. A few minutes later, Rowin was seated across from the principal who looked at him coldly.
"I don't like troublemakers, and you seem like a magnet for trouble. So let's set things straight, you are getting a new roommate and you're going to get along whether you like it or not. You actions proved that you are more unstable than Temia predicted so you are going to attend a strict program to straighten you out. You will be a good little student for the time you are here and we won't have a problem. Do you understand me?" Principal Gretta decided to play the villain card this time because acting soft was what caused the Ryan situation.
"I understand, Ma'am. Will I get another emotional support animal? That Ryan guy cooked my rabbit."
" Quit using that little, emotionally unstable weakling act of yours. I can read minds with my ability and your twisted thoughts are no exception. Now get out of my office and I don't let me see your face till graduation." Rowin left immediately, his expression unreadable.
'I can't believe that the first thought that brat had after seeing me was if he could snap my neck. Ryan is like an innocent child compared to that little monster. I just hope that brother of mine can handle him.' Principal Gretta thought as she rubbed her temple.
