A casually dressed young man with a rabbit in his arms could be seen walking behind an older and more refined man through the pristine halls of Katix Sleeper Academy. Rowin was currently being led towards the dorms where he would be shown his room. He was already informed during the two hour registration process that he would have a roommate.
The academy was really large. It had a building dedicated to basically everything Rowin could think of yet he wasn't interested. He was offered a guide to show him around the but he declined. He only needed someone to show him his room and he would explore by himself.
The man showed Rowin the door to his room handed him the key card and left without a word. Inside the room, there were two beds but the whole place was basically a pigsty. Rowin could live with it if it was his mess but he didn't have the patience to clean after someone else. Therefore he picked a bed and cleared it with telekinesis before placing the rabbit on the soft mattress.
"I should go to the laundry building and get some clean sheets and some clothes. They probably also have a uniform so I'll ask for it there. I can do all that after exploring. I should see what this place has to offer, don't you think so little guy." Rowin said to the rabbit before he smacked his own forehead. "I totally forgot to name you! Hmm, you have many colors so I should look for something that matches that. I could call you Fluffball but it doesn't sound good. Hmm, that little black tail of yours gives me an idea. How about Shadow tail. Sounds a little menacing for a rabbit but you can make it work."
"Now stay here while I go explore. Don't get yourself in trouble, I'll be back before classes are over for the other students." Rowin said as he rubbed Shadow tail's fur. He stood up, left the room and locked the door behind him. Rowin stood outside the door staring at a hologram on his left palm. 'The man said that classes end at four so I should be good to explore till three thirty. I have to get back and set my stuff up before meeting this roommate of mine.'
"Zain, set an alarm for three thirty."
"Alarm set. Will that be all Sir Rowin?" Zain, the new name for Rowin's nano watch AI answered. "That's all for now."
It was around two when Rowin left to explore the academy and an hour and half later, he felt like he had just scratched the surface. He could have accomplished more if the staff hadn't kept stopping him due to his lack of uniform. He wasted a lot of time explaining that he was a new student. By the time he made it to the laundry building and collected his uniform, Rowin was thoroughly annoyed.
He slowly walked to his room and locked the door behind him once inside. Rowin immediately heard some sound in what he assumed to be the kitchen. He rushed there expecting to see Shadow tail in the middle of a big mess. He stopped in his tracks when he saw a tall brown-haired guy standing shirtless with a stirring spoon in his hand.
"Who the hell are you and how did you get into my room?" The guy asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Where's Shadow tail?"
" Who gives a flying fuck about Shadow tail? I'm asking you who the hell you are?" The guy said as he placed the spoon on the kitchen counter. He threateningly approached Rowin who seemed to have entirely forgotten his presence.
Rowin's gaze was fixed on something behind the guy. He was staring into the eyes of a severed rabbit head. The skin was spread on the counter and the head and innards were laid on it. His gaze then shifted to the stove where a stew was being made. "You'll regret that!"
Outside the dorms.....
"Finally, classes are over. I can get some sleep after pulling an all nighter for today's test." A short teenage boy with blond hair said.
"You wouldn't need to pull an all nighter if you just study in advance." A taller boy said to the first. The taller boy looked like an older version of the shorter one except for the black eye he had. They were brothers who joined Katix Sleeper Academy together.
"And you need to pull your nose out of your books and focus on combat training. You get more black eyes than everyone else." The short one said.
"I know that and I'm goi....."
CRASH!!!
A loud crash coming from one of the dorm windows interrupted the tall teen. Looking up, the brothers saw a shirtless guy falling from from the fifth floor window. Falling wasn't the right word for it, he was shooting towards the two like a comet. The shirtless guy glowed blindingly and a sonic boom was heard as his body disappeared. He reappeared on the ground ahead of the two with his back facing them.
"That fucker sneak attacked me! I'm gonna kill him!" The guy yelled before disappearing with a flash of light and the booming sound of thunder.
"Wasn't that Ryan, the guy everyone calls the Thunder Beast?" The short brother asked.
" Yes it was and it looks like he was fighting someone. I just wonder who's dumb enough to fight him after what he did to the last guy he fought." The tall brother said as they stared at the hole in the building where Ryan had disappeared into.
A few loud crashes were heard before another hole in the wall opened up. This time a black haired teen came out of the hole before he stabilized himself and levitated in midair. His eyes were fixed on the hole in the wall where Ryan stood facing him. The glaring match lasted another second before Ryan turned into a lightning bolt and charged at the floating teenager who couldn't even react in time.
The lighting stopped in midair about a meter away from the black haired teen. As soon as the lightning was paused, Ryan's real body materialized as he couldn't maintain his lightning form indefinitely. This was the moment Rowin was waiting for. He turned the telekinetic barrier he used to block Ryan into a hand to grab him. He then launched Ryan at the ground with as much force as he could use with his telekinesis.
Just before hitting the ground and turning into a bloodstain on the floor, Ryan turned into a lightning bolt and escaped Rowin's clutches. The invisible telekinetic hand slammed into the hard ground cracking it and leaving the faint outline of a human palm. Ryan saw the imprint and realized just how close he had gotten to death.
Ryan was pissed. Not only did some random guy show up in his room and throw him out the window for no reason. This guy was actually trying to kill him inside the academy. He was the one person that even combat instructors hate dealing with because of his power and this telekinesis user wanted to fight to the death. He would show him why you don't mess with lightning.
Ryan shot towards Rowin who had already prepared a barrier. He hit the barrier and bounced off before shooting towards it again. Ryan struck the barrier multiple times as fast as possible, only leaving the lightning state when necessary.
Many students had already gathered and were watching the fight that was happening in midair. They all knew about Ryan and his short temper but they couldn't even see the other guy's face because of the bright lightning. All they knew was that he was holding his own against the Thunder Beast.
Suddenly, the lightning bolt changed direction and struck the dorm. Ryan materialized inside a room while grabbing his head. He had been launched into the dorm when the previously spherical barrier changed shape and he was deflected into a wall.
Ryan angrily charged out of the hole as a lightning bolt but he hit a barrier almost immediately. He tried to change direction but it was too late, he had been encased. The barrier suddenly contracted, trying to crush Ryan like a bug. He tried to resist with his strength but the pain of his bones cracking made him instinctively turn into a lightning bolt. With no physical body the barrier encasing Ryan shrunk to the size of a basketball.
It was only a matter of time before Ryan would be forced to materialize and be crushed to a pulp. Rowin knew that killing was wrong especially over a rabbit he just got but he didn't care. He wasn't even mad about the rabbit since he was already planning to eat it if it ever inconvenienced him. He was just going to crush this guy because he gave him a reason to do so. Rowin didn't really care whether it was crazy to kill someone over something so simple, he just needed a reason.
