My eyes stared open with the ray of sunshine illuminating through the window. I felt a hand on my waist holding me down to the bed. I pushed it away and opened my eyes a little more, trying to figure out where I was. Then it all clicked - I sat up immediately, my eyes wide with panic. I was praying in my head that this was all a dream and I wasn't really in bed with someone...and I had work at 9 a.m.! Oh no, please don't let it be true!
I plunged out of bed with every ounce of strength I had, waking up Mr. Stranger (yes, stranger, because I was never seeing him again, hopefully!). He stretched up, and I looked at him with urgency in my eyes - where the hell was my phone?! I needed to get out of there fast and get to work! I checked the time and groaned - 7:15 a.m.! I mouthed curses loudly.
"Are you talking to me, Mr. Stranger?" he asked in a completely oblivious tone.
I turned back, looking at him with a mix of panic and frustration. My hair was a mess, looking like a bush, but I didn't care - I was too focused on getting out of there! I wrapped the sheets around my body and picked up my clothes, rushing into the bathroom and dressing as quickly as possible. I was feeling sore from last night, but that was the least of my problems!
I quickly got out of the bathroom, not even noticing the luxurious surroundings - I didn't have time! I grabbed my bag, put my phone in it, and started putting on my shoes. Mr. Stranger walked up to me, but I didn't even acknowledge him. I just sprang out of the room, rushing to escape. I didn't even say goodbye - I just needed to get out!
Taking the elevator down, I exited the hotel reception, ignoring the curious glances from others. Hailing a cab, I gave the driver my address and wished he could drive faster - it was already 7:45, and I was running late!
Remembering the hotel was about an hour away from my house, I quickly said a prayer in my head, "Please let me have a smooth day at the office, it's my first day, and I can't afford to mess it up." I knew I was going to be a few minutes late. The drive was going smoothly, but my mind was racing with thoughts of how I was going to make a good impression on my first day at one of the biggest and most prestigious companies in LA - the Donovan Group of Companies. The thought sent a shiver down my spine, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of panic wash over me.
After what felt like 35 minutes, the driver pulled up to my apartment - miracles do happen, I thought to myself! I paid the driver and dashed to the elevator, punching in my apartment floor with a sense of urgency. I quickly flung my bag on the couch and dashed to my room, taking a record-breaking quick shower while brushing my teeth - I was running late, and I couldn't afford to waste any more time!
I got out of the shower, feeling like I'd just set a new personal best for speed. I opened my closet and pulled out my outfit - a stunning black fitted skirt and light blue v-neck top that exuded professionalism with a touch of femininity. The dress was perfect for the office, elegant and stylish, yet subtly sexy, showcasing my curves in all the right places. I put on my heels, sprayed my vanilla strawberry perfume, and added a swipe of gloss. I tied my hair in a comfortable bun, dropping two strands in the front, and grabbed my black bag.
I checked my phone - 8:35! I muttered curses under my breath and dashed out of my apartment, locking the door behind me. I hailed a cab outside and got in, praying I'd make it to the office without any more delays. The drive was smooth, but my anxiety was growing - I was going to be late on my first day!
As we pulled up to the Donovan Group of Companies, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the imposing building. The aura was professional and intimidating, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. I paid the driver and walked with confidence into the reception, trying to compose myself. "Good morning," I said to the receptionist, who welcomed me with a smile.
The office was tall, and the Donovan Group of Companies was written boldly across the top. I prayed that they would overlook my lateness and I would have a nice day at work. The receptionist directed me to the 23rd floor, and I made my way to the elevator, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Maybe, just maybe, I would make it through this day without any major mishaps
As I stepped out of the elevator on the 23rd floor, I was struck by the sleek and modern decor of the office space. The room was flooded with natural light, and the polished mahogany accents added a touch of sophistication. I noticed a spacious work area with a large desk, multiple computers, and a printing machine. A plush couch and chair sat invitingly in the corner, creating a cozy nook. My eyes landed on the impressive mahogany door at the far end of the room, which I assumed led to the CEO's office. I recalled my research on the CEO, rumored to be an eligible bachelor, but with a notoriously private persona. Only a few articles and blurry photos had surfaced online, leaving me curious about the man behind the legend.
Just then, a warm and friendly voice broke into my thoughts. "Hi, you must be the new secretary," a young woman said, approaching me from the CEO's office. I took in her stylish appearance and felt a fleeting sense of déjà vu, which I quickly brushed aside.
"Yes, I'm Laura," I replied, smiling at her welcoming demeanor.
"I'm Jasmine, and I'll be helping you get settled today. Feel free to ask me any questions," she said, her eyes sparkling with kindness.
As we chatted, Jasmine filled me in on the CEO's preferences. "He's a very organized and private person, Laura. He dislikes clutter and values professionalism. His coffee must be made with plenty of milk and no sugar. Just remember to stay on his good side, and you'll be fine."
With that, she handed me some files to sort through and mentioned that the CEO was currently unavailable. As she left, I began working, my mind wandering back to the enigmatic CEO. I hoped to make a good impression and stay on his good side, and I silently prayed for a successful day ahead.
