Nakahito is a kind and caring person who wants to protect those who are close to him. He tries to remain even tempered, but anything resembling a threat or insult to his friends generally results in a hot-headed response from him. This reaction is especially noticable when it comes to his best friend, Kimiko Itou - a fellow orphan.
Following the tragic death of his parents two years ago, Nakahito was taken in by his paternal Uncle, Aunt, and cousin (Sakura Haruno, also age 13 and in the same class at the Ninja Academy.)
He is also close to his cousin, Sakura, but seems at odds when trying to determine why she, like most of the girls in their age group, likes Sasuke Uchiha, currently top in class in all the courses at the Academy.
Nakahito is driven to prove himself and become the best he can be in pursuit of his objectives to prevent losing anyone else of importance to him. Nakahito is currently 3rd ranked in the Taijutsu and Ninja weaponry courses and 2nd in Ninjutsu. He also appears to have a schoolboy crush on Hinata Hyuuga. (Much to the irritation Kimiko Itou, his nearly constant companion.)
Nakahito typically is outfitted with 10 Kunai throwing knives, 30 standard-size shuriken, 1 collapsable "Demon Wind" shuriken, razor wire, 5 letter, smoke and flash bombs. He also has a tendency to carry makibishi caltrops, ashiko climbing bands, and tome door jammers.
