Amaya is possessed of a rare Kekkei Genkai that allows her to emit varying kinds of pheromones that allow her to play with the minds of others - primarily those of men due to the sexually-based nature of his Kekkei Genkai, which activates when women of the Satou clan hit puberty. The main indicator that the power has manifested is a sudden inability to make people dislike you - the ability continuously, without conscious control of the user, emits a pheremone that is essentially concentrated friendship.
Through training, Amaya has also learned how to generate compounds that induce love, rage, joy, compliance and even fear - all
of which are odorless and undetectable by any known means. They are absorbed through the pores, which means that protecting one's nose is ineffective in attempting to prevent being affected by the Kekkei Genkai.
To date, only people with incredibly high levels of personal willpower or neurological trauma have shown any level of immunity to the Satou clan's Kekkei Genkai (although Amaya has not yet encountered anyone who can resist her power; aside from her maternal first cousin and teammate, Kane Suzuki.)
Amaya has a bit of a vain streak to her because of the surprising level of control that she has with this Kekkei Genkai and the fact that it tends to make mindless servants out of anyone that she uses her pheremones on. However, when she's alone, she has a tendency to feel depressed because she wishes that her allies would care more for her than her skills. She is also never able to
tell what they would actually think of her when she's not around - her friendship pheromones (one that affects both genders equally) wear off when out of proximity, allowing their natural opinions to surface, but re-exposure buries them again.
Like most Satou women, she has limited Taijutsu skills - to avoid training accidents that could mar their beauty or alter their carefully honed womanly forms - focusing primarily on Genjutsu techniques (made all the more powerful by her Kekkei Genkai) and weapon combat skills.
Amaya typically carries 15 Kunai throwing knives, 20 standard-size shurikens, 2 handheld metal-reinforced fans (for concealed weapon possession in formal
situations,) smoke & flash bombs, Makibishi Spikes, and razorwire.
She also carries a bottle of perfume that she uses to mask her Kekkei Genkai - while the pheromones are typically odorless, if she gets too excited she can release a more concentrated form that does have a faint odor. Satou also carries a lipstick that has a sedative compound mixed in. If she kisses anyone while wearing it, they swiftly become drowsy and fall asleep, although it depends on how long the kiss is held before the sedative can seep into the victim's bloodstream.
