Chapter 19 - To my Home

It was you... at the entrance of Ash Stone Hotel, you were crying..." Royce trailed off. Alynah's looked up at him with teary eyes.

"You're mistaken, Mr Westgate. You have never met me before" she glared at him and entered the studio.

"Seriously, then why the tears?" Royce wondered. He seemed to think for a while then shrugged and left.

Alynah shut the door behind her, sobbing. She's wondering when he saw her. Does that mean he knows what happened four years ago? She's trying to keep it a secret, she hoped Royce will not be a hindrance. She wiped her tears and went to stand in front of the design-filled white board.

Just then, Evan walked in. "Miss Grayling, Mr Hart requires your presence in his office" he stated.

"I'll be there" Alynah replied lowly. She took numerous deep breaths to calm her nerves before walking out of the studio.

Alynah pushed the door and walked into Mr Hart's office. "Sir, you sent for me" Alynah stated.

Kayden stared intently at her face, he knew something was wrong with the way her expression is. That's not how she left the office a while ago. Kayden offered her to sit and Alynah sat down opposite him.

"You cried" Kayden's words made her gasp. "Is everything alright?" He asked again, his gaze locked on her face.

Alynah bit her lower lip, trying to come up with an answer. She can't possibly tell him about her encounter with Royce.

"Yes sir. I'm fine" she replied, keeping her voice low.

"Then why are you eyes misty?" He asked again as he brought his hands closer to his face, entwining them, forming an arc. Alynah gulped down and slowly looked up.

"A sad past, I remembered" Alynah replied.

Kayden narrowed his gaze and stared at her for a while and then shrugged. He won't force her to spit it out. She will, if she wants him to know.

"I need you to make some corrections, regarding a design. To be submitted before closing" Kayden said, handing her the design brief.

Alynah scanned through it and looked up. "But I cant be done before closing. It's already 4pm" Alynah complained while Kayden gave her that 'are you serious' look. If not because she's new here, he could have yelled at her and fired her immediately. But he only stared at her amusingly as if she's a creature from outside the universe.

Alynah lowered her head, regretting her words.

"Alright, bring it to my home during the weekend" Kayden said and leaned back on his chair. Alynah gasped aloud as she looked up at him, eyes and mouth agape. To his home! That's....

She wanted to say something but words got stuck up in her mouth.

"Evan will send you the address, you may leave" Kayden stated. There's a certain authority and finality in his voice as he said that. Like for real, Alynah will go to Kayden's house on weekend?! The thought alone made her heart beat accelerate.

She could have agreed to do it now. It's now too late because Kayden is never go back on his words. Reluctantly, she stood up to leave.

Placing her hand on the door knob, Alynah felt large warm hands over hers and she gasped. She turned to see that she was caged. Her forehead hit Kayden's strong manly chest which made her heart accelerate three times it's normal beat.
