Alynah lowered her head as her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. Kayden chuckled at her funny reaction.
"Feeling better?" He asked. Alynah cleared her throat and nodded shyly.
"Thanks to you. I'm no more shivering" she smiled.
"My pleasure" Kayden said and pressed the intercom near the bedside.
"Set the dining, I'll be there now"
"C'mon let's eat" he stood up and held out his hand.
Alynah hesitated for a while but then took his hand. She felt electric sparks when their hands touched. Kayden turned to her with a smile. Alynah's heart skipped a beat seeing him look so carefree, calm and all smiles. She'd never felt that way before and strangely, she felt safe with him. How comes they are getting along so easily. She have heard Kayden as a cold CEO who doesn't have any interest in women. What's happening now? Was it a lie? Or did he suddenly change because of her?
As they settled down in the dining room. Alynah's eyes widened seeing the lavish breakfast set in the dining. The aroma is enough to make her go crazy. She was salivating.
The Texan style breakfast tacos, hush puppies, pecan pie, fried green tomatoes, chicken fried steak, hot soup, banana pudding and sweet tea. Alynah swallowed a mouthful of saliva. She ate before coming here but she's still hungry.
"Come on, dig in" Kayden urged, picking up his fork and knife. Alynah smiled shyly and dug in.
"Uhmmm it tastes good!" She screamed inwardly but speechless physically.
Kayden smiled seeing her savouring the Texan delicacies.
The rain poured for two hours straight and Alynah was still in Kayden's large hoodie. Just then, the doorbell rang and two men in suits walked in, holding a shopping bag.
"Sir, your order is here" one of the men said with a bow.
"Good" Kayden gestured them to drop it on the table.
"You may leave, Trevor"
"Yes sir" they both bowed and left.
"Here's your new wears, I hope I got the right size" Kayden smirked making Alynah gasp. He bought a new set of clothes for her.
Mesquite Neighborhood...
Lyra rang the doorbell and Betty opened up.
"Heyyyy Bet!" Lyra beamed and the duo hugged. They exchanged greetings and entered fully into the house.
"Aunty Lyra!!!" Tulip yelled and ran to hug her.
"Oh heartyyyyy!!!" Lyra picked her up, twirling her around.
"How're you darling?" She asked, putting her down.
"I'm fine Aunty Lyra. I missed you soooo muchh" Tulip giggled happily.
"Awwwwn I missed you too baby" Lyra reciprocated, cupping her cheeks.
"Where is Aly?" Lyra asked Betty.
"Her boss sent for her so, she went to his house"
The answer came as a loud bang on Lyra's head.
"H..h..his house? She went to Mr Hart's house?!" Lyra stuttered in disbelief. Betty stated weirdly at her and nodded.
Lyra scoffed. No no no, this can't be happening. She tried maintaining her stamina but ended up falling on the couch. They are getting closer by the day! That shouldn't be happening!! If they get so close, there's no way Lyra will be able to keep the secret safe. It will be revealed, sooner or later! The thought alone terrified her to the bone.
"Aunty Lyra, are you okay?" Tulip came to her side. Lyra looked up at Tulip, her eyes were giving her a kind of unsettling feeling. Guilt is eating her up the more she see Tulip.
"I'm okay baby, just a bit exhausted" Lyra forced out a smile.
Betty stared at Lyra intently, it's like Lyra is hiding something from Alynah. She could feel it. She can see it in her eyes that there's something Alynah didn't know.
"I think it's because of the rain, she'll be back anytime soon" Betty said as if trying to comfort Lyra. Whatever she's hiding from Alynah, she'll find out very soon.
