Alynah's eyes widened as she gazed up at Kayden's chiseled features. His piercing gaze locked into hers as his hand remained over hers, his touch sending cold shivers down her spine. Alynah's heart was beating wildly.
Sir?" She called, her voice was barely audible. She was trying so hard to act calm despite the way her heat was racing.
"What are you doing, Mr Hart" Alynah asked again as she was pinned on the door, her brown eyes boring into his grey ones.
Kayden's eyes sharpened as he gazed down at her, his voice was low and husky. "I think you know"
Alynah's mind went blank as he said that. What's he talking about? She felt trapped that she wanted to escape but couldn't. She gasped when she saw Kayden's gorgeous face drawing closer to hers, his warm breath caressing her skin. Alynah shuddered.
"I.. don't know what you're talking about, sir. Please let me go" she was trying so hard not to shiver.
Kayden's hands slipped down her arms and intertwined his hands with hers. Alynah felt a spark of electricity as their palms touched. Kayden whispered; "you ain't going anywhere until we settle this"
Alynah's mind raced as she tried to come up with a reasonable answer. But her mind couldn't process anything, not when Kayden is standing really close to her and touching her purposefully.
"Settle what?" She suddenly asked. Kayden's eyes burned with intensity that made her heart skip a beat that instant.
"The truth. You're hiding something from me. Tell me what made you cry" Kayden whispered. His voice was low and husky that is enough to wreak havoc inside Alynah's heart.
"I..i.i don't know what you're talking about, sir" Alynah stuttered, trying to free her hand from his grip but Kayden's grip only tightened, not letting her go.
"You're suddenly lying to me, Alynah" Alynah's heart accelerated. This was the first time he called her so casually and it felt really good in his voice. It's like he just read a sweet poetry. She gulped down, hearing the hint of warning in his voice.
"I can see that through you that you're lying" he added, his eyes flashing with a hint of anger.
Alynah gasped as his face drew closer, his breath caressing her bare skin. She felt like she's drowning in his gaze, unable to break free from the depths of his grey eyes. His gaze was sucking up the world around them.
"Let me go, please sir" Alynah pleaded, struggling to free her hands from his grip but Kayden's grip tightened even more, that she couldn't move anymore.
"No Alynah. I need to know the truth. Tell me and I'll let you go, except you want me to hold you for the rest of the day" there's a sexy smirk that appeared at the corner of his lips as he said that. Alynah's cheeks flushed.
Her mind was racing, she was trying to find a way to deflect his questions but Kayden was a way too intuitive. He saw it from the start and she knew it.
Alynah took a deep breath and gazed up at him. " Fine if you must know. I'm hiding my past, happy now?" She spat out.
"What do you mean?" Kayden narrowed his gaze, his eyes were piercing.
Alynah took a deep breath, prepared for what was to come.
"I mean...I am not who you think I am...I've done things... I'm not proud of" Alynah said, trying not to break down.
Kayden slowly let go of her and took two steps backwards. He stared at Alynah, his gaze softened. There's something so mysterious or perhaps, painful about her past. He could see it in her eyes, the pain and sorrow. This particular Golden Sparrow needs to be cared for, so deeply to make her forget about her sorrows.
Alynah lowered her head. She's not telling him anything further. She knew once Kayden knows about her past, he'll never look at her the way he's doing now. He'll never respect her as a woman. The thought alone made her terrified to the bone. She won't let that happen. She'll protect her past.
"I won't ask you further. It must have been hard on you" Kayden finally said. His voice was gentle, as I trying to cool down the tension he'd caused.
"I'll take my leave, sir" Alynah bowed.
"Don't be late tomorrow, I have somewhere to go" Kayden suddenly stated. Alynah shot him a stare and nodded before walking out of the office.
Kayden heaved a deep sigh. What's that she was hiding about her past? What was that that's so painful?
