As we made our way to the infirmary, I noticed the female teacher who had attacked. "Good morning, ma'am," I greeted her tentatively.
"Good morning. Where are you two going?" she inquired, her expression a mix of curiosity and concern.
"We're heading to the infirmary," I replied, trying to sound composed despite the lingering unease.
"The infirmary? Is something wrong?" she pressed, her concern growing more palpable.
"Don't worry about it, ma'am," I reassured her with a forced smile.
"Okay then, be careful," she said before turning around to walk away.
"Ma'am!" I called out, causing her to stop and turn back to me.
"Yes?" she responded, waiting for my next words.
"Um... please be careful. If you see a student running towards you, please run away immediately," I urged, my voice tinged with urgency.
"Okay..." she replied, clearly puzzled by my warning but taking it seriously nonetheless.
"Hey, Siah. When you mention a running student, do you mean someone like them?" My best friend pointed at a group of students running in the distance.
"They sure have the guts to play even during school hours. Right, Siah?" he remarked, turning to me. However, instead of agreement, he found me trembling in fear, my eyes fixed on the running students.
The female teacher approached the group of running students, her voice booming with authority, "Hey! Who is your teacher? Why are you here running during school hours?" she shouted, trying to restore order.
"No, no, no, no, NO!!!" I screamed in horror, my voice filled with panic. "He's here... he will... he will..." I couldn't finish my sentence, overcome by the traumatic memories flooding back.
My best friend, Alex, quickly stepped in, holding my shoulders and shaking me gently. "Hey! What's going on?" His tone was filled with concern and urgency.
"It's them, Alex! This is... this is what I've been talking about! The zombies!!! They will kill you, eat you alive, tear your flesh!" I exclaimed, my voice trembling as I relived the terrifying experience.
"Snap out of it, Siah!" Alex's voice cut through my fear, his eyes locking onto mine with a mixture of determination and reassurance. "Look, they're just students. It's okay, you're safe now."
As the student sprinted towards the female teacher, panic surged through me like a tidal wave. "No! You don't understand!" I cried out, my voice filled with desperation. I darted towards them, my heart pounding in my chest with each step.
"Shit, shit, shit, SHIT!" I shouted as I closed the distance, my mind racing with a mixture of fear and determination.
"Ma'am! Don't!" I shouted, grabbing her hand just as the student reached her.
"Hey! What are you doing!? Release me at once!" she yelled, struggling against my grip.
"Ma'am! I'm saving your life!" I retorted angrily, but she responded by slapping my face. "You're being unreasonable, stop this at once," she demanded.
"I... you don't understand," I said weakly, releasing her hand as a sense of helplessness washed over me. I stood there, feeling lost and overwhelmed by the chaos unfolding around us.
"Don't leave here, I want to talk to you in my office," she instructed firmly. "I'll deal with them first," she added, gesturing towards the students who were now being attended to by other teachers.
Taking deep breaths, I struggled to regain control of my emotions. The laughter that bubbled up from within me felt hollow and tinged with madness. "Hah... haha... hahahah... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!" I laughed uncontrollably, "YOU ALL DON'T UNDERSTAND! YOU WOULD NEVER UNDERSTAND!" I shouted, my voice cracking with emotion.
"Siah! Calm down!" Alex's voice cut through my laughter, his concern evident in his tone.
"Let go of me, Alex. I can handle this," I insisted, pushing his arms away as I tried to compose myself.
"Okay..." Alex replied, his expression still filled with worry and uncertainty.
Meanwhile, the teacher continued to struggle with the approaching student. "Hey! Stop! Don't come any closer or I will call your parents!" she threatened, but the student paid no heed, leaping towards her with a desperate intensity.
"No! Don't—" the student collided with the teacher, sending them both crashing to the ground. "NO!!!! GET OFF ME!!!" the teacher screamed, her voice filled with terror and desperation.
The chaotic scene unfolded before my eyes, each moment adding to the surreal nightmare that had become my reality.
Alex intervened, trying to reason with me and stop the violent outburst. "Hey kid, stop that," he said firmly as he approached us. But when the student attempted to bite the teacher's neck, I couldn't stand by. I swung my hand at his head, using a rock as a makeshift weapon.
"Siah!!! That's too far!" Alex shouted, his voice filled with concern and disbelief. Yet, the student persisted, prompting me to strike him again with the rock.
I pushed the student away from the teacher, determined to protect her at all costs. "Siah! Stop!" Alex's voice grew more urgent as he tried to intervene, but I was consumed by a surge of adrenaline and fear. I continued to strike the student's face with the rock, shouting "DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!"
As the chaos unfolded, a sense of madness crept over me. "Ahh… I've gone mad, haven't I?" I questioned myself, the reality of my actions sinking in.
"Siah! Siah, stop!" Alex's voice cut through my frenzy as he held me tightly, pleading for me to calm down. I dropped the rock, feeling a wave of guilt and disbelief wash over me.
"I... I killed him," I stammered, struggling to come to terms with what had just transpired. The realization that I had taken a life, regardless of the circumstances, weighed heavily on my conscience.
Alex urged me to run, reminding me of the imminent danger surrounding us. "Siah! Siah! We need to run!" he shouted urgently, pulling my hand.
Confused and overwhelmed, I followed Alex's lead. But before we could escape, I paused and ran back to the teacher, who sat in shock on the ground. "Stop it, ma'am. Let's go!" I urged, pulling her arm to get her moving.
Together, we made our way towards safety, the chaos of the campus unfolding before us. The teacher questioned the horrifying scene, seeking answers that none of us had.
"I told you, didn't I? Will I still go to your office?" I remarked sarcastically, a bitter edge to my tone as I grappled with the harsh reality of the situation.
Alex suggested heading to the office for safety, emphasizing the sturdiness of its door compared to others. "Yeah, you're right," I agreed, realizing the urgency of finding a secure location amidst the madness.
As we hurried towards the office, Alex asked about the situation, to which I could only offer a grim hypothesis. "I don't know! Zombies maybe?" My answer was laden with uncertainty, reflecting the surreal nightmare we found ourselves in.
We ran and ran as fast as we can, to get away from those creatures. I turn around and look at my back "Hopefully they didn't notice u… fck there are two of them coming near us!" I announced
"Hurry!" Alex shouted, "Alright, thank God we're here" Alex said in relief as we got closer to the faculty, "Open the door!" I shouted
Alex open the door, but it was lock. "What the… hey! Open up! We're still alive!" Alex shouted while looking at the window
"Hey! Open up!" I shouted and kick the door
Then, the curtain open up. There it was the vice principal, "Thank God, Sir! Please open up the door!" Alex said happily
"Go… please…" He whispered
"Huh? What are you talking about sir?" Alex asked
"Get the fck away from the door!" He shouted
"What…?" Alex said confused
"You heard me! Get away!" He shouted
"Hey, Alex.. let's go! They are here!" I shouted
"What do you mean by that sir!? We're still alive! Let us in!" Alex persisted
"Please… I beg you"
"Stop… you won't change his mind" The teacher who was with us said
"Why the fck are you taking so long!?" I shouted as I pull Alex and the teacher's arm towards the stairs, "hurry up!" I shouted as I look at them
Then I turn around, and in front me. Is a hallway filled with students and those monsters, "Shit…" I muttered under my breath, "To the 4rd floor! The storage room there don't have a lock!" The teacher shouted
However, some monsters heard it and went for us. "Hurry! Run! Please… survive" the teacher said "What! No we can all go together!" I said as I run towards her then she shouted "Stop! Please! Let me do my duty as a teacher. And that is to protect the students…" she said determination in her eyes
"And besides, I'm already…" she said softly as she revealed her left arm, bleeding. "Ma'am…" I murmured
"Siah! Let's go!" Alex shouted,
"Run! Don't look back!" The teacher shouted, as those monsters gang up to her and start tearing her flesh off. I saw it with my own two eyes, her scream can be heard even in the 3rd floor.
I ran and ran towards the 4th floor, I didn't look back and keep on running. Finally… we made it. Gasping for air, Alex and I both made it.
"Hah… hah… hah… finally" Alex said
"Really… you don't know when to stop do you?" I said looking at a single student, who also got turned standing in front of the storage room.
"Siah?" Alex asked, as he watch me approach the zombie. "Siah!" He shouted and run towards me as he saw me running towards the zombie. "AAAAUGGHHH!!! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! EVERYTHING! CREATURES LIKE YOU SHOULD FCKING DIE!!!!!!!" I shouted as I tackle him and keep punching the zombie in the face.
Alex, doesn't know what to do went to the storage room to look for weapons. He came back with a baseball bat, "Move!" He shouted, I look at him then saw the baseball bat he's holding.
I quickly move away, and Alex smash the zombie's head. The zombie still growls even after that, making hit his head multiple times until it's head smash like a watermelon.
"Hey… you okay?" I asked, worried. I know how it felt, killing a human or was it a human?
He then puked, couldn't help but feel sick to what he did and the scene we just saw. "I'll be inside if you need me" I said and went inside then storage room.
Inside was packed with various things that the school doesn't need for now, and stock it here. While still panting, I find myself a weapon I could use. "This should do it" I said picking up a metal pipe it's the same longness of the baseball bat.
"Hey, Alex let's get inside before—" before I could finish my sentence, I heard a scream. It was Alex's voice.
