Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Free fall

When I thought we have a place to stay for the time being, oh boy was I wrong. Because of Alex shouting earlier group of zombied came to the 4th floor to check for the screaming.

I immediately lay down, so is the others. "Hey… what do we do?" Alex whispered

"Let's just stay quiet, and wait for them to leave" I answered

We wait, and wait for them to leave. "Phew" I sighed in relief, as I saw them in the window leaving.

Then the teacher's phone rang, Alex and I look at her in disbelief. Terrified, the teacher immediately pull her cellphone but because of her nervousness she drop it.

The cellphone continued to rang, she immediately took it and answer the phone. "Hello?" She asked just as the horde of zombie came burning inside the door.

"Fck!" I shouted

"What do we do now, Siah?" Alex asked

"I don't know! I don't fcking know!" I shouted in panic

"Hey, can I call you back in a moment? I have something to deal with" the teacher said talking to the phone

Think, Siah think! What should we do now!? Distracted by the noise "Ma'am, hang up the phone!" I shouted, trying to regain some sense of control amidst the chaos

"Hah… hah…" my heart racing, as if I'm going to die in a heart attack first than being eaten by these zombies.

"Auggh! Fck!" I shouted As the horde of zombies burst through the door, our hearts raced with fear and desperation. We were trapped, with no clear escape route in sight.

I immediately took the fire extinguisher, and use it to the horde of zombie coming towards us. "Alex! Open the other door!" I shouted while keeping them at bay However it won't take look before they could eat me alive.

Alex, immediately push the cabinet we put to barricade the door. "I'll help you" the teacher said helping Alex to push the door.

With the two of them, they manage to push the cabinet and open the door. "Siah!" Alex shouted as he get out the door.

I throw the fire extinguisher at them and run towards the door, then close it. "Let's go!" I shouted running the opposite side in the hallway.

The adrenaline pumping through my veins drove me forward as we raced down the hallway, our footsteps echoing in the chaos behind us. The sound of the zombies growling and banging against the door filled the air, pushing us to move faster.

"Where do we go now!?" Alex shouted, his voice strained with urgency.

"I don't know!" I shouted back, we got down the stairs to the 3rd floor. As we made it to the 3rd floor, the whole hallway was filled with bodies of students and teachers being eaten by students that got turned into a zombie.

"Shit…" I cursed under my breath "RUNNNNN!!!!" I shouted in top of my lungs, the zombies noticed us and immediately chase after us. We went down to the second floor, and again the same scenario as the third floor.

The zombies from the 2nd floor noticed us, and chase after us. We continued to ran, and ran as fast as we could towards the 1st floor. Just when we thought we were safe. Horde of Zombies from the 1st floor was blocking the stairs.

"Ah… we're fcked" I said

Trapped between floors with no way up or down, our situation grew more dire by the second. The horde of zombies on both floors relentlessly closed in on us, their guttural moans filling the air with dread

Despair settled heavily upon us. We were like rats in a cage, with no means of escape and no hope of rescue. The reality of our situation sank in, crushing our spirits and leaving us paralyzed with fear.

Alex leaned against the wall, his breaths coming in ragged gasps. "We're done for, aren't we?" he muttered, his voice filled with resignation.

I couldn't find the words to answer him. The weight of failure and helplessness bore down on me, extinguishing any flicker of hope that remained. The teacher stood silently beside us, her eyes reflecting the same despair that consumed us.

The sounds of the approaching zombies grew louder, their guttural moans sending chills down our spines. We were defenseless, unarmed, and outnumbered. Fighting back seemed futile, and escape was no longer an option.

"We can't just give up," the teacher whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.

"What's the point?" Alex replied bitterly. "We're already dead."

I closed my eyes, trying to steady my racing thoughts. We were caught in a nightmare with no waking up. Every plan, every hope, shattered into pieces. The reality of our mortality stared us in the face, and there was no escaping it.

As the zombies closed in, our last moments together were filled with silence and resignation. We huddled together, bracing for the inevitable as the horde descended upon us, their hunger for flesh insatiable.

In that final moment, I couldn't help but wonder if this was the end of everything, or just the beginning of a new kind of existence—one defined by survival at any cost in a world overrun by the undead.

As the horde of zombies closed in, their ravenous hunger overpowering any sense of reason, we braced ourselves for the inevitable. Their gnashing teeth, fetid breath, and cold, lifeless eyes were the harbingers of our demise.

The first wave crashed upon us, tearing into flesh and bone with unrelenting ferocity. Alex was the first to fall, overwhelmed by the sheer number of undead tearing into him. His screams of agony echoed in the air, mingling with the guttural growls of the zombies.

I tried to fight back, swinging wildly with my fists and kicking out in desperation. But it was futile. The horde was too massive, too relentless. Their hunger drove them to devour us with ruthless efficiency.

The teacher, once a beacon of guidance and authority, met the same fate. She fought valiantly, but the odds were simply too great. Her cries for help were drowned out by the cacophony of flesh being torn and bones being crushed.

I felt the searing pain of teeth sinking into my flesh, tearing through muscle and sinew. The world blurred around me as darkness crept in from the edges of my vision. The last thing I heard was the symphony of screams and snarls, a cruel melody of death and despair.

And then, there was nothing but darkness. The agony faded into numbness, and consciousness slipped away like sand through my fingers. In that final moment, I wondered if there was anything beyond this torment, or if oblivion was all that awaited us.

The world moved on, indifferent to our struggles and our demise. The school halls, once filled with the bustling energy of students and teachers, now echoed with the eerie silence of the undead's victory.

"Hahh… hah… hah… I… came back…" I said still couldn't believe it, but I am really going back in time whenever I die!

"Siah! Shut the fck up!" Alex whispered, ah it looks like we're in the time where the teacher's phone… rang?

With the sudden realization, I immediately called out for the teacher. "Ma'am!" I whispered with sense of urgency in my voice

"Please, lower down the volume of your phon—" but it was too late, her phone rang. "Fck!" I shouted, "Get the hell up Alex! Ma'am! You and Alex move the Cabinet from the other door!" I shouted as I stand up and get the fire extinguisher

"Now!" I shouted without explanation they did as I said as the horde of zombies are trying to push open the door.

As the horde of zombies burst through the door, our hearts raced with fear and desperation. We were trapped, with no clear escape route in sight. The teacher's phone call added to the tension, distracting us from the immediate threat at hand.

But it's as expected, I fire the fire extinguisher at them. "Siah! It's open Let's get out!" Alex shouted

I move to towards them, and when I thought I had everything planned. I was wrong, since the door opened too soon, some zombie who are outside that are still haven't got inside went to the other door and start eating the teacher and Alex alive.

"NOOOOOO!!!!" I shouted, but it was too late. "No.. everything is not too late" I said walking slowly towards them and jump to the 4th floor.

"If I come! I will fcking kill you all!!!" I shouted while falling down, I hit the ground... it hurts, hurry up and die already... please... it hurts...

I fell down hard and hurt a lot. Everything hurt, my bones, my muscles, even breathing was tough.

I lay there, looking up at the sky... it's the same feeling I felt in the very first try… the same sky… the same pain…

Blood came out of me, making a mess on the floor. It felt like time was moving super slow, and I felt really bad.

There were loud and scary noises from upstairs, reminding me of how bad things were up there. I tried to get up, but it hurt so much I couldn't.

I felt like crying because of how much pain I was in, and because I knew I couldn't save myself or my friends. It was like a really bad dream I couldn't wake up from.

I thought about times when things were good, when I was happy with my friends. But now, everything felt wrong and sad.

I couldn't stay awake anymore. Everything went dark, and I felt like I was disappearing. Before I went completely away, I wished for peace and for the pain to stop.
