Clarissa walked up the stream and found a small path up the slope she fell from. Then she quickly made her way into the forest and started looking for the herb. The herb grew in dumpy areas so she walked to the direction of the stream.
A few metres from the stream she found an open area full of herbs of different kinds. Though the herbs were not expensive they were still valuable when used correctly.
Clarissa started picking the herbs she needed, after wrapping them carefully she started picking a few other herbs that she needed for small wounds and nourish the body.
Iris learned the use for this herbs through Clarissa's memories. Clarissa used to help pick herbs for the physician in the mansion and through her being needed to water and take care of the medical garden she picked up some knowledge of herbs.
Clarissa wrapped up her herbs and started her journey back to the commander's mansion which was named 'the Brook's mansion'.
As the sun was setting, Clarissa reached the mansion. She passed through the servants door that was at the far wall side of the mansion. This was to prevent the servants being seen by the visitors or their superiors.
Clarissa looks around the mansion as she makes her way to the kitchen where she'd find the chief maid as she supervised dinner. She hurries over to the chief maid and hands over the herbs. She sees surprise flash through the chief maid's eyes.
Clarissa: "Miss Donna sorry I came back late. I had an accident and it was very difficult for me to find the herbs, please forgive me it won't happen again."
Donna: " it's good that you got the herbs. You can have something from the kitchen today. Good work."
Clarissa bends down her head but viciousness flashes through her eyes. She saw the surprise on Donna's face when she saw her back. It seems this was supposed to be the end for Clarissa.
'Since this is your end Clarissa I will this life of yours to the fullest and I'll avenge every grievance no matter how small. I'll pay back everything we have encountered in this life.'
Clarissa: "Thank you miss Donna."
Clarissa goes to the chef to get her meal. The chef gives her vegetables with rice porridge and a piece of bread. She thanks the chef and walks to the back door. Just before she leaves Donna calls her.
Donna: "Clarissa, tomorrow you will get a list of herbs from me. Make sure to bring back the herbs in the list. You'll be given some warmer clothes and boots to make it easier for you. Remember if you don't have even one of the herbs you won't be allowed back into the mansion."
Clarissa: "Yes, I understand Miss Donna."
Clarissa walks out and moves to the pigsty where she sleeps. Clarissa eats her dinner which barely fills her stomach. She lies on the thin blanket as she thinks of her life.
'You want to chase me out, fine by me but prepare for my revenge Brook's mansion for I'll be back.'
