The past week Clarissa has been cleaning the dungeons every day after her morning chores. On the first day after finishing her breakfast a soldier who was working as a guard came and told her that she had been assigned to clean the dungeons. According to her inherited memories the previous Clarissa would rather serve the master's children on her hands and feet than work in the dungeons.
She didn't understand the aversion until she saw for herself. The smell of sweat, urine, feaces, rotting flesh and other smells she didn't understand hit her. The guard showed her where to start then left. After a few minutes of holding her breath she couldn't hold it anymore and started vomiting all her breakfast. She vomited until nothing was coming out, she was just gaging on nothing.
She tried her best to control her breathing as she worked. That day was hell to her but by the end of the day she was already used to the smell. The following days she saw the soldiers interrogate some spies from neighboring dynasties and the gruesome torture was hard even to some strong men to withstand but not her.
Clarissa watched as the torture continued for days. Some of the spies couldn't withstand the pain, the loss of blood and infection led to them dying. She watched as they died with no remorse or pity for them. As she was just a slave and a cleaner she was sometimes asked to remove the dead bodies together with other slaves then clean up the cells. Some bodies had stayed for long and started to rot.
Clarissa had already gotten used to the face of death so she didn't even flinch when removing and cleaning the rot. She had also learned how to torture a person until he felt he couldn't withstand the pain.
Through the new information from the mysterious altar she had learnt many ways on how to mix different herbs in order to create new medicines.
Clarissa had started formulating different ways she could use certain herbs and she was happy with her progress. She had even started formulating medicines that could keep a person awake and stop them from passing out.
Another medicine was for making the nerves more sensitive in order to increase the pain with just minimum effort. Another medicine was to close up the wounds and stop blood flow so that someone won't die because of blood loss.
All this was because she found fault with the tortures thus she wanted to find ways to increase the success rate of such tortures.
The best torture was through a person's bones nerves and internal organs. Some of the soldiers inflicted pain on the flesh but it wasn't the most effective way. She remembered the whipping she received in her previous life, it was painful at first but she started getting used to the pain that she wouldn't even scream.
After the tortures were done most prisoners were killed and the dungeons didn't need anymore cleaning so Clarissa returned back to her normal chores.
During the week in the dungeons food was delivered to them on time but most people didn't eat because of the disgusting smells but not for Clarissa. She ate as much as she could and even stored away the remaining food.
In one week she had gained some weight. She no longer had sunken eyes and protruding cheekbones. Her face had gained a little fat which made her blue eyes look big, deep and mysterious. Her body was still thin but not so much that one would be afraid of her falling even with the slightest wind.
After returning back to her normal chores the Brook's mansion became busy as the governor was preparing to host some guests from the capital, the phoenix city.
Most of the guests are said to also visit the commander in his home thus the festive decorations.
Clarissa was busy with her chores during the day and at night she would spend a few hours in the tower. She decided to name her inner space 'the pyramid planet'.
She thought calling it a planet was okay because it was like a world on it's own. She started understanding her inner space after spending a few hours there.
She learned she could allow her whole body into the planet. She could bring anything inside it where alive or objects. She even planted some of the herbs she had but then she discovered that her herbs would be ready to harvest after a few days.
She planted some vegetables and fruits and it was the same as the herbs. It seemed time moved swiftly in the planet than outside. One day outside was equivalent to a month in the pyramid planet.
