[You have gained a new title]
Rem's eyes widened in confusion as his chest heaved up and down, he was struggling to draw in raspy breaths.
A title… although he didn't know what that meant to the System, he knew what it meant in the real world- A title was a second name bestowed upon a person which opened multiple avenues to wealth.
Any person with a great enough title was granted wealth, S-class Magus although not the most powerful in the world had insane wealth.
[Title- Monster Archer: The gaze of a monster is a deadly one, piercing at the opponent and seeing through their soul as a result… Lock on to your opponent and deal maximum damage]
[Perks: Lock-on, 43% Accuracy increase when using a bow]
Rem gave a little nod as he felt his eyes adjust a bit, he stared at the corpse of the Monster and he felt his entire focus being directed… everything being focused on the corpse that was until he tore his gaze off the corpse.
With this demonstration, Rem was able to summarize the power of the Monster Archer title… not only did it give him a clear vision of anything he locked his eyes on, it also granted him an increase in accuracy although it was only when he was using a bow.
'Although the Lock-on ability is nice, it has a clear disadvantage,' Rem analyzed quickly.
He didn't want to use a skill in battle until he knew what it entailed and he had already figured out the disadvantage- it was only able to focus on one thing at a time… he couldn't lock on to two figures which meant that this ability would be bad for group battles.
Rem slowly stood up, his legs trembling a bit as he was facing the after-effects of using Flash movement- fatigue, it didn't draw upon magical energy but rather on endurance and while being a kid… Rem didn't have much Endurance.
But he learned his limit of utilizing Flash step was about three times and that if he wanted to use it three times, he had to limit it to short distances like two meters or else he would burn more endurance quickly.
Rem staggered and leaned on a tree, gathering energy to head back the way he came and see how Drew was doing- if the Cavalier wasn't already coming for him, after all, the Forest of Death was supposedly a dangerous place.
'It's a shame I can't absorb the souls of these anomalies,' Rem thought in disappointment- the stats were just wasting away but there was nothing Rem could actually do about it.
As he gathered energy, Rem sharpened his senses… his mind and heartbeat pacing as he prepared for any imminent attack. The forest was infested with monsters and Rem didn't believe for a second that he was in a zone where there were no monsters.
'There are bound to be some around,' Rem thought and took in deep breaths.
Instantly Rem pushed energy into his feet and leapt to the right just in time as twin tendrils smashed into the ground where he was just standing… ripples spreading across the ground as Rem landed some distance away.
His gaze landed on his attacker and he saw an arachnid-like monster, it was like a spider but different at the same time it looked different- it's eight legs were adorned with little crystals which glowed eerily and two spiky tendrils on it's back… the tendrils that had stabbed into the ground, aiming to take his life just a moment earlier.
The tendrils were spiky and releasing a pale pink aura which assured Rem that they were aiming to poison him… although the spider was just about the size of Drew, Rem could see at a glance that poisoning was the only way this monster weakened it's opponent before finishing them off at once.
Although Rem hadn't fully recovered from fatigue… he was confident in keeping his distance away from those tendrils and using his Heaven's crossbow to deal maximum damage to this monster.
'After all slaying a monster myself might bring some higher benefits,' Rem thought as he channeled the weapon out of his soul- a bright bolt of aura striking his palm as the Crossbow materialized, ready to continue another onslaught of arrows.
Tension and silence hung in the air as Rem drew in deep breaths, attempting to stabilize his lungs… he chose to face this monster himself rather than summon a minion to do it for him; there was a reason of course.
He had run quite a distance away from Drew and there was also a chance that more monsters were lurking in the shadows… just waiting to take him although he hoped that he just met around E to D grade monsters.
As soon as he locked eyes with the monster, he saw a tab appear above it's head.
'SpiderGob, E-grade'
Rem gave a small sigh as the tab had given him reassurance but his gaze quickly went back to the Spider as his Lock-on skill was triggered…
Rem decided to use this skill so that he wouldn't lose sight of the Spider in case it tried to move and at the same time, even with his flawed stance- he kept his guard up at all sides, his perception flaring to the maximum as Rem felt confident in being able to sense any other attacks.
Rem raised his right hand up and the crossbow lit in a dangerous green aura, lightening up the weapon as an arrow was slowly being formed.
The SpiderGob wasn't about to give Rem the time to charge up his attack- the tendrils spun through the air, letting off its poisonous aura into the air as the tendrils shot toward Rem.
The boy gritted his teeth… as much as he wanted to Flash movement right now and finish the battle as soon as possible, he couldn't use the skill so he would have to rely on momentum and his own base speed.
'The tendrils though… they are moving slowly,'
Rem was able to see their trajectories even before they landed on the ground, and he moved away, breaking into a run.
He was starting to understand what the title {Monster Archer} meant!
