Chapter 19 - Title {Apprentice}

"This is your room, young apprentice Rem,"

It felt strange to Rem, it was the first time he was getting such treatment but he wasn't complaining.

Rem nodded slowly and pushed open the door of the room to reveal a standard living area- of course this standard living area was much higher than what he was used to.

Rem gave a thankful nod to the butler and entered the room, shutting the door behind him and bolting it in quick succession.

"I have to make sure I know where everywhere is," Rem said as he sat on the bed- it was a plain bedroom with a table and chair situated at the right corner of the room and some books stacked upon the table- probably for the purpose of studying.

Apart from those two pieces of furniture, there was of course a good soft bed where he could sleep on and a tracksuit on the bed which was going to be his training clothes.

And then there was another door leading to the bathroom where he would freshen himself up and begin training.

"Be back down in 30 minutes," Rem could vividly remember Drew say and he frowned.

Rem got off the bed and stretched a bit… he was grateful that he was going to live in a luxurious room now but there were many factors which endangered his safety… such as the short boy he saw earlier, thankfully he was pushed directly into his room or he might have had to hold a conversation with the other Apprentices.

After his stretches, Rem felt his muscles loosen a bit and with a single motion, he took off his shirt and threw it on the bed, doing the same with his torn jean shorts.

Rem grabbed the tracksuit and noticed a set of clean underclothes, a singlet and clean underwear and a thin frown stretched across his lips.

'What do they take me for?! That I don't have clean underwear!!' Rem yelled inwardly and then carried the clothes into the bathroom.

He might have lived in the slums but that didn't mean that his underwear was dirty, it was actually one of the cleanest sets of clothes he owned.

Rem finished his bath and he was quite satisfied with the cold shower, the feeling of cold water running down his skin was something he hadn't experienced since the last rainstorm in Onio town.

The Black haired boy looked at himself in the mirror after he wore his black tracksuit with crimson stripes and Rem had to admit, he looked really cool.

'I barely know anything about hand-to-hand combat and my weapon is a Crossbow,' Rem thought, as his current stats carried him- he was more suited to be a ranged fighter but he wanted to change that up, he didn't want to be limited to range… he wanted to be versatile in close and long range combat so he could be advantageous in every opponent he faced.

"Status," Rem muttered under his breath and he witnessed the purple screen morph in front of his eyes, turning into his status bar.

[Name: Rem]

[Age: 14]

[Class: None]

[Titles: {Monster Archer}]

[STR: 15]

[SPD: 13]

[END: 12]

[AGI: 11]

[MAG: 42]

He could have grown far much stronger if the forest actually granted him status points but it didn't, If Rem were to interpret his grade, he would say he was around the Unranked grade to E-grade. The prior battles he had been in had been victorious because of his title, intelligence and superior skills as well as his weapon but Rem wanted to win a battle with his own strength and for that he needed to train in the ways of a Cavalier as they exceled in close combat.

Rem strummed his hair back with his right hand and stared blankly at the mirror.

"It's time," Rem said and walked to the door, reaching for the knob and opening it to see Krista wearing a similar tracksuit… except hers was pink with white stripes, Rem admitted that she looked quite cute.

"Uhm, Mister Drew said we should-"

Rem didn't waste any time in walking away from her and heading downstairs, after all, she was part of the reason that they were delayed in getting here and not to mention that she was the bait that the Bandits used to attract Drew and attempt to kill him… there was no way he was going to forgive her so easily.

"You better keep up," Rem couldn't help but say and Krista stumbled before following along with him.

The place where they were meeting up with the others was the large arena in the backyard meant for the purpose of training spars… this was where the apprentices could hone their combat skills against themselves as well as practice with instructors.

'Drew owns a mansion and has private instructors tutoring the Apprentices… and he's a D-rank Cavalier, is this how being an Adventurer is so profitable?'

Even D-rank cavaliers couldn't afford this much, which meant that is was probably family wealth. As long as it was being used to his advantage, Rem didn't have any qualms.

As Rem took a seat on the soft grass, he saw an instructor step forward onto the empty wide arena and clear his throat. A quick glance around the property revealed that Drew was not outside, Rem assumed he was inside freshening up.

"Attention!"

The Male Instructor's stern voice was enough to send shivers down Rem's spine as his gaze was fixated on the deep blue eyes of the Instructor which stood on the arena.

"My name is Instructor Martinez and for our new apprentices, I would like to welcome you to your new life- one where your full potential can be unleashed and where you can stand amongst the realm of Cavaliers as the strongest. I will be your main mentor and you are free to ask me any questions about what being a Cavalier entails," He said while clasping his hands together, "For now, I shall give you a brief explanation of what you are going to be taught as an Apprentice,"
