Orion town, a massive towering metropolis which was the home of the Orion battlefield stood at the end of the Forest Of Death… The battlefield was an arena constructed by the great builders a decade ago meant for the Annual Cavalier tournament which took place every year.
Rem frowned as they navigated through the lively streets of Orion town, he had seen no poor people on the street- nobody was wearing rags and nobody was sitting at the side of the road.
"What happened to the orphans and poor people?" Rem asked, clearly surprised… he had never heard of a town like this.
"Well since this town is headed by an S-grade Cavalier- most of them are trained by instructors to become Cavaliers with their permission of course and if they didn't want to, they could live in the Orphanage homes till they become 18," Drew said with a shrug, "Onio and Orion are two neighboring towns but they have different goals- don't try and compare them to each other,"
Rem's pupils dilated for a moment, the thought of having an easy life flooded his mind before it was pushed back by his survival instinct- he was truly glad to be born in Onio as the people here who had everything handed to them on a silver platter were surely weak.
Even if they had instructors which made them stronger physically- their willpower couldn't be compared to people who survived in the slums where every day was a test of their mental strength- Not only had their mentality been honed to adapt to the perilous situation that they were presented with, it had been evolved through the hardships.
The stalls adorning the streets each seemed to have their own striking feature, aside from the fact that they sold different goods. The air was far more healthier than Onio, it was an air free from poverty and honestly Rem liked the scent.
Cavaliers could be just about anybody who had honed their mind and body to be able to match that of monsters, and capable enough to wield a Magical tool which would help them in their goal of Dungeon raiding.
Magical tools for Cavaliers ranged from E-grade weapons to S-grade weapons and each had their varied strengths. Rem was currently using an E-grade Magical tool which was called the Heavenly Crossbow but when it had been absorbed into his soul and merged with the Monster Aura- it had become a C-grade weapon but of course Rem wasn't aware of such a development.
"Finally I'll be able to have a good bath," Drew said and Rem sighed at the man's words- as someone who went weeks without having anything as much as a decent shower, Rem was excited to finally see how great showers could be.
Their trek ended about half an hour later as they stood outside two monstrously high black gates, Rem gulped a bit as he observed the gates pushing open slowly.
'That's quite a lot of weight,' Rem thought while observing the gates- it would be hard to scale them but it was possible, 'I could use those designs of swords as pillars, after all, they aren't a part of the original gate,'
Rem shrugged, either that or he would just climb on the back of a Death Wolf and leave it to do all the work… Rem was plotting an emergency escape just in case the Gang members or anyone else he had stolen from had used Drew to bring him here.
Finally, the gates swung open and Rem's eyes widened in response… apart from the gate guards that stood on both ends of the gate with inviting smiles on their faces, there were three other figures standing there gazing at Drew with a welcoming smile.
'Damn, he had other apprentices- why didn't he let me know?!'
Rem had never been one to get along with children his age or any other age for that matter- he was a loner and a survivor.
Rem turned to the face the Burly cavalier but all he got in return was an innocent smile, it was almost like Drew didn't notice that he didn't like being around people.
'He did this on purpose,' Rem complained inwardly but he was already here, as long as the gang members from the black market were not here or any other person he had stolen from were not here- he was relatively safe.
As they began walking inside, he could feel all the gazes fixated on him, after all, his appearance was quite different from anything they had ever encountered before… not everyone in this world had deep black hair and gray eyes.
Of course Rem didn't care about their gazes… he was most concerned with a boy that had brown hair amidst the others.
He was shorter than the others and had deep blue eyes with quite a handsome face yet Rem could see past the charade that the boy held, he had a unique aura wrapping around him which differed from that of a human.
'Could he be a monster?' Rem thought as his guard was instantly up.
He had never heard of a Monster being able to turn into a human- he had never truly heard of a shapeshifting monster in his life but there was no other way to categorize this young boy.
'If he is a monster then I have to be careful,' Rem thought.
Alas there was no name tag above the boy's head which showed his name and ranking, this led Rem to be confused as the boy exuded an aura akin to that of a monster but at the same time he wasn't one?
Finally, they arrived at the gates and Drew gave a wide smile.
"Rem, Krista- welcome to your new home," Drew said.
Rem sighed a bit, not only did he have to train but also keep his guard up against the small boy that stood behind the others… Rem spared a glance at the boy and found him grinning.
'Creepy,'
