Bjorn's days passed in a blur of training and learning. Kael taught him how to harness his powers, how to hunt and feed, and how to navigate the complex world of vampire politics. But despite Kael's guidance, Bjorn couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Kael's words and actions seemed laced with a hidden agenda, a secret purpose that Bjorn couldn't quite grasp.
One night, as they walked through the deserted streets, Kael suddenly stopped and turned to Bjorn. "There's something I need to tell you," he said, his voice low and mysterious. "Something I've been wanting to confess for a long time."
Bjorn's instincts prickled. "What is it, Kael?"
Kael's eyes seemed to bore into Bjorn's soul. "I didn't turn you by chance, Bjorn. I had a reason. A purpose."
Bjorn's mind raced. "What purpose?"
Kael's smile was enigmatic. "You'll find out soon enough. But know this, Bjorn: I didn't betray you. I saved you."
Bjorn's anger flared. "Saved me? You call this a salvation? Being a monster, a creature of the night?"
Kael's expression turned cold. "You were already dying, Bjorn. I gave you a second chance. A new life."
Bjorn's thoughts swirled, trying to make sense of Kael's words. What did he mean? What had Kael saved him from?
As they continued their walk, Bjorn noticed they were heading towards the city's outskirts. The buildings grew fewer, and the streets became darker and more deserted. A sense of unease crept over him.
Where are we going, Kael?"
Kael's silence was oppressive. Bjorn's instincts screamed warning, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what was wrong.
Suddenly, Kael stopped in front of a decrepit warehouse. "We're here."
Bjorn's heart raced as Kael pushed open the creaking door. Inside, the air was thick with the stench of decay and death. Bjorn's eyes adjusted slowly, revealing rows of coffins, each one adorned with strange symbols and markings.
"What is this place?" Bjorn whispered, horror creeping up his spine.
Kael's voice was barely audible. "This is where your journey truly begins, Bjorn. This is where you'll discover the truth about your new life."
As Bjorn turned to flee, Kael's hand clamped down on his shoulder, holding him in place. "You can't escape the truth, Bjorn. Not now. Not ever."
And with that, everything went black.
