Reggie's father, a tall, imposing figure in his mid-fifties, strode into the showroom. His chiseled face, weathered from years of authority, commanded attention. Silver streaks lined his dark hair, and his piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into those he gazed upon. A tailored suit accentuated his broad shoulders, radiating an aura of power.
"What's going on here?" he demanded, his deep voice filling the space.
Reggie hesitated before responding, "Nothing, Father. Just two individuals causing trouble."
Mike stepped forward, his expression assertive. "We're not causing trouble. We're here to buy cars."
Kai echoed Mike's sentiment, his eyes locked onto Reggie's father. "Yes, we're interested in purchasing vehicles."
Reggie snorted, "Huh, look at them, Dad. You think they can afford anything from our shop?"
Reggie's father narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing Kai and Mike. "I am Harrison Grant, owner of Prestige Motors. And you are?"
Kai smiled calmly and extended his hand.
Kai extended his hand, and Harrison Grant, Reggie's father, shook it firmly.
"Oh, so you want to buy cars?" Harrison asked, his tone dripping with amusement.
"We want something luxurious," Kai replied. "A BMW 7-Series, perhaps, or a Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Something over 500,000 rand."
Harrison raised an eyebrow. "You're certainly ambitious. Or perhaps, just dreaming?"
Kai smiled. "We're serious buyers, sir."
Harrison chuckled. "Stop it. You're acting. Do you think you can afford a car in this place? You must be joking."
Kai's expression turned serious. "Sir, I want to buy a car, and you're making things harder for me."
Harrison leaned back, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Do you know who owns this establishment?"
"No, sir," Kai replied.
"This establishment is owned by Mister Reginald, and Reginald is the CEO of this company."
Kai's eyes narrowed. "Reginald, you say? He owns this place?"
Harrison nodded. "Yes, and I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate time-wasters."
Kai smiled calmly. "I know Reginald. I'll call him right now, and I'm sure he'll arrange the best deal for us."
Harrison's grin faltered, replaced by incredulity. "You know Reginald?"
"Yes, of course," Kai said.
The room fell silent, with Reggie and Harrison exchanging skeptical glances.
Harrison burst into laughter. "Look at this guy! You'll make me laugh to death! Security, come and escort these...gentlemen out."
Reggie joined in, chuckling. "Yeah, Dad, this guy's a joke."
Kai's expression remained serene, but his eyes flashed with determination.
Kai dialed a number on his phone and put it on speaker. Harrison's laughter halted, replaced by curiosity.
"Who are you calling now?" Harrison asked, his brow furrowed.
"I'm calling Mister Reginald, the CEO of this company," Kai replied, his eyes locked onto Harrison.
Harrison and Reggie burst into laughter again. "You're pretending to know Mister Reginald? You must be dreaming!" Harrison chuckled.
Kai's expression remained calm. "I'm not playing games."
The phone rang, and a deep voice answered, "Hello, Kai. How are you? I've been waiting for your call."
"I'm fine, Mister Reginald. I'm at your motors establishment, and there's someone here claiming to know you," Kai said.
"Who is it?" Mister Reginald's tone turned stern.
"Mister Harrison. He says he knows you well and won't let me buy a car here," Kai explained.
Mister Reginald's voice turned icy. "Give him the phone."
Kai handed the phone to Harrison, whose hand trembled as he took it.
"Hello, this is...uh...Mister Harrison," he stammered.
Mister Reginald's voice boomed through the speaker, "Who are you, little peasant, daring to use my name? You stupid guy! I'll fire you this instant!"
The room fell silent, with Reggie's eyes wide with shock and Kai and Mike's mouths agape.
"Give Mister Kai the best car in that shop. No charges. Do you hear me? No charges!" Mister Reginald ordered.
Harrison's face turned ashen, and he stuttered, "Y-yes, sir."
The line went dead, and Harrison's eyes met Kai's, filled with a mix of fear and respect.
Reggie's voice trembled, "Dad, what's going on?"
Harrison's gaze dropped, and he muttered, "It seems I've made a grave mistake."
Kai smiled calmly. "I think it's time we discussed the car, don't you, Mister Harrison?"
Mister Harrison stammered, "Forgive me, sir. I didn't know you knew Mister Reginald. Please, can you ask Mister Reginald for my job back? This is all I have."
Reggie, confused, asked, "Dad, what are you talking about?"
Mister Harrison slapped Reggie, his face red with anger. "Shut up! It's because of your stupidity that I almost lost my job. Now look at this!"
Reggie touched his cheek, tears welling up. "Dad, Iβ"
Mister Harrison turned to Kai. "Mister Kai, I'm deeply sorry for my son's lack of discretion. Please, accept my apologies."
Kai nodded graciously. "Apology accepted, Mister Harrison."
With renewed deference, Mister Harrison escorted Kai and Mike through the showroom. Kai's eyes landed on a sleek Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
"I want this one," Kai said, his voice firm. "The S-Class, over 1.2 million rand."
Mister Harrison nodded hastily. "Excellent choice, sir. We'll prepare the paperwork immediately."
As they finalized the documents, Kai reached for his card.
Mister Harrison intervened, "No, no, sir. My boss's instructions were clear: no charges."
Kai recalled Mister Reginald's words: "If you enter any of my establishments, take anything you want, free of charge."
"Alright, thank you," Kai said with a smile.
With the paperwork complete, Mister Harrison handed Kai the keys. "Your new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, sir."
Kai and Mike exchanged triumphant grins.
"Let's take a ride," Kai suggested.
As they drove away in their luxurious new vehicle, Reggie's humbled voice echoed in the background.
"Dad, what just happened?"
Mister Harrison's stern reply: "You almost cost me my job, son. Remember that."
The scene faded as Kai and Mike cruised into the sunset.
Kai pulled up to Mike's house, grinning. "Later, bro. Today was epic."
Mike chuckled. "Told you, bro. Today's our day."
As Mike stepped out, Kai drove off towards his own home.
Neighborhood eyes widened as Kai's sleek Mercedes-Benz S-Class cruised down the street.
"Who's that?" someone whispered.
Kai parked outside his humble home, stepping out to admiring glances.
His mom, Sophia, stood in the doorway, oblivious to the commotion.
"Mom, I'm home!" Kai called out.
Sophia turned, "Kai, where did you...?" Her eyes widened at the car.
"Mom, I got a surprise. Close your eyes."
Sophia hesitated, then shut her eyes.
Kai led her outside.
"Open your eyes now."
Sophia gasped. "What am I looking at?"
Kai beamed. "Our new car! From now on, Mom, we drive."
Sophia's eyes widened. "Kai, where did you get the money for this? This car looks expensive."
Kai smiled mischievously. "I'll tell you all about it, Mom. Tomorrow, I'll drive you to work and myself to school."
Sophia's brow furrowed. "Kai, whose car is this?"
Kai chuckled. "Ours, Mom. Completely ours."
Sophia's expression shifted from shock to curiosity.
"Kai, what's going on? How did you afford this?"
Kai's grin grew. "Let's go inside, Mom. I've got a story to tell."
And with that, Kai led Sophia into their home, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class gleaming in the evening light
Kai took a deep breath, "Mom, I have to tell you something. Yesterday, when I came home, I told you I met a friend. But that's not the whole story."
Sophia's curiosity piqued, "What do you mean?"
"I saved a friend from gangsters," Kai explained. "Today, I met his father, a rich guy. He gave me this car."
Sophia's eyes widened, "A car? Kai, that's incredible!"
Kai nodded, "And I have my license, so I can drive it."
Tears of joy filled Sophia's eyes, her voice trembling. "Oh, Kai! I'm so proud of you!"
"Did you tell your father about this?" Sophia asked.
Kai hesitated, "Yes, Mom, Dad knows."
Sophia's gaze lingered, sensing there was more to the story.
Kai didn't elaborate on his powers. He kept that secret, honoring his father's wish for a normal life.
Sophia smiled, "I'm just glad you're safe and happy, Kai."
As they hugged, Kai knew he'd made the right decision.
Kai finished dinner, feeling content. "Mom, I bought a lot of things today, but I forgot to get you something. Tomorrow, I'll make it up to you."
Sophia smiled, "You don't have to, Kai. Just be happy and safe."
Kai nodded, then headed to his room, his mind racing.
He recalled his father's words: "Under my bed, there's a key. Use it to unlock the cabinet."
Kai retrieved the key and opened the cabinet, revealing the ancient book: "The Family Lineage."
As he opened the book, a surge of energy coursed through him.
Kai felt himself lift off the bed, floating for five seconds.
Suddenly, everything went black.
"No, not this again!" Kai exclaimed, before losing consciousness.
He collapsed onto his bed, the book still clutched in his hand.
The room fell silent, with only the sound of Kai's steady breathing.
