Chapter 13 - The Hidden Legacy

Kai's eyes darted between Mister Reginald and Beldin, his mind racing. "Let me show you my skills."

Mister Reginald nodded. "Very well. Display your fighting style."

Kai's movements were fluid, showcasing his mastery.

Mister Reginald watched intently. "Your technique... it's familiar."

"Who taught you?" Beldin asked.

Mister Reginald intervened, "I know someone who fights like you."

Kai's curiosity piqued. "Somebody I know?"

Mister Reginald's eyes locked onto Kai's. "Yes."

"Who?" Kai pressed.

"Do you know Koby?" Mister Reginald asked.

Kai's expression changed. "Yes... that's my father."

Mister Reginald's eyes widened. "Your father? How is he? Is he well?"

Kai hesitated. "He's... not fine. He's in the hospital."

Mister Reginald's face turned grave. "I'm sorry to hear that. What happened?"

Kai's eyes narrowed. "What do you know about my father?"

Mister Reginald leaned forward. "We were... associates. I haven't seen him in years."

Beldin shifted uncomfortably.

Kai sensed a deeper connection. "Tell me more"

Mister Reginald's eyes sparkled with nostalgia. "You see, Koby was an old acquaintance of mine. We met when he was young. He'd tell you the same story – Koby was a great man."

Kai leaned in, intrigued.

"We met during a difficult time in my life," Mister Reginald continued. "He saved me with his quick thinking and exceptional martial arts skills. From then on, we were inseparable partners. He even holds shares in my company."

Beldin's eyes widened, surprised by the revelation.

"Koby taught me some of his signature moves," Mister Reginald said, a hint of a smile. "Let's see how you compare. May I?"

Kai nodded, and Mister Reginald assumed a fighting stance.

"Let's exchange moves," Mister Reginald said.

The two began to circle each other, their movements lightning-fast. Mister Reginald unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks, but Kai countered effortlessly.

"Faster!" Mister Reginald exclaimed.

Kai obliged, accelerating his pace. Mister Reginald struggled to keep up, his breathing quickening.

The security personnel watched in awe, whispering among themselves.

"Unbelievable!"

"Master-level skills!"

"Look at that speed!"

Mister Reginald stumbled back, panting. "Wow, Kai! You're incredibly fast! Your technique is nearing master level!"

Beldin approached, eyes shining with admiration. "Kai, you're a natural."

Kai smiled humbly. "Thanks to my father's teachings."

Mister Reginald observed Kai's skills, nodding in approval. "Yes, that's Koby for you. Great fighter, and his son follows suit."

Kai clarified, "My father didn't teach me these moves, but I naturally move like him – the flow, everything."

Mister Reginald smiled. "That's great. Keep honoring your father's legacy."

With a warm smile, Mister Reginald continued, "Now that everything's cleared up, you can train with my personal security team daily. As Koby's son and heir to his shares, you'll assume his role in the company."

Kai's curiosity piqued. "Mister Reginald, my father mentioned other acquaintances. How many shares does he have in your company?"

Mister Reginald's expression turned serious. "Your father holds forty percent of the company's shares."

Kai's eyes widened. "Forty percent? That's astonishing!"

Mister Reginald nodded. "Yes, forty percent is substantial, but you'll soon realize your father's capabilities extend far beyond that."

Beldin and the security personnel exchanged knowing glances.

Kai sensed there was more to uncover. "What do you mean?"

Mister Reginald leaned forward, his voice low. "Your father's influence reaches beyond business, Kai. He's been involved in... delicate matters."

Kai's mind raced with questions.

Kai's curiosity grew, and he couldn't wait to ask his father more questions. "What happened when you were young, Father? What made Mister Reginald hold you in such high regard?"

Kai's thoughts swirled with possibilities as he continued training with Mister Beldin.

As they exchanged blows, Mister Beldin's eyes widened. "Wow, Kai, you're a natural! Your moves are master-level!"

During a particularly intense exchange, Kai landed a blow that sent a surge of energy through Mister Beldin.

Mister Beldin froze, stunned. "Sorry, Kai... do you have Q-training?"

Kai frowned. "Q-training? What's that?"

Mister Beldin's eyes locked onto Kai's. "Energy refinement training. It allows you to strike from a distance without physical contact."

Kai shrugged. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Mister Beldin's expression turned serious. "Then how do you explain this energy flow? It's like... SNAI."

Kai's confusion deepened. "SNAI? What's that?"

Mister Beldin hesitated, glancing around the room before leaning in closer. "SNAI stands for Spatial Neural Alignment Interface. It's an ancient martial arts technique, thought to be lost. Only a select few have mastered it."

Kai's eyes narrowed. "What does it do?"

Mister Beldin's voice dropped to a whisper. "SNAI allows practitioners to manipulate energy, striking opponents from a distance, and even heal others. It requires immense mental focus and inner balance."

Kai's mind reeled with the implications.

"Is that what my father knows?" Kai asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Mister Beldin nodded. "Yes, Kai. Your father is a SNAI master. And judging by your skills, you may have inherited his abilities."

Kai listened intently, amused by Mister Beldin's underestimation. "Q-training, SNAI master... they have no idea."

Little did they know, Kai's true abilities far surpassed their wildest imagination.

"I'll play along," Kai thought, "and see how far they'll go."

Mister Beldin observed Kai's movements. "You're almost there, Kai. You're already better than Mister Reginald and me."

Kai smiled inwardly, knowing his family's energy levels transcended their understanding.

Mister Reginald approached, concluding the training session. "Kai, it's been an enlightening day. Feel free to visit my estate anytime for further training."

He handed Kai a sleek card. "This is a shareholders' card, symbolizing your inheritance of Koby's shares in my company."

Kai accepted the card, intrigued.

"My company is essentially yours, Kai," Mister Reginald explained. "You hold significant shares, but I maintain majority control... for now."

Kai's eyes sparkled with amusement. "I see."

Mister Reginald continued, "As a shareholder, you'll receive updates on company affairs. Your father's influence extends far beyond this business, Kai."

Kai nodded, aware of the unseen forces at play.

With the training session concluded, Kai departed, leaving Mister Reginald and Beldin to ponder his true potential.

As Kai drove away, he thought, "They have no idea what's coming."

The night ahead promised revelation and discovery.

Kai pulled into his driveway, lost in thought. Mister Reginald's words echoed in his mind: "Your father's influence extends far beyond this business, Kai."

As he stepped out of the car, five burly men blocked his path.

"Wow, if it isn't Kai," one sneered.

Kai's gaze swept across the group. "And you are?"

The apparent leader, sporting a Fire Fox Gang tattoo, stepped forward. "I'm Ryker, leader of the Fire Fox Gang."

Kai's expression remained calm. "Get out of my way before I lose patience."

Ryker snickered. "You think you're tough? Take a shot at me."

One of Ryker's cohorts drew a gun, pointing it at Kai.

Time seemed to slow as Kai watched the bullet leave the barrel.

In an instant, Kai vanished.

The gunman's eyes widened as Kai reappeared, catching the gun in mid-air.

Kai tossed the gun aside, his movements fluid. "You shouldn't have tried to shoot me."

Ryker stumbled backward, stunned. "How... how could you be so fast? Faster than a bullet?"

The gang members exchanged nervous glances.

Kai's eyes narrowed. "You shouldn't have come here."

Ryker regained some composure. "H-how did you...?"

Kai's smile was enigmatic. "Let's just say my father taught me well."

The Fire Fox Gang retreated, their tails between their legs.

As they fled, Kai thought, "Father, your secrets are beginning to unravel."
