Kai watched the gang disappear into the night, his mind racing with questions. What did his father's involvement with Mister Reginald truly mean? And what secrets lay hidden behind Koby's SNAI mastery?
Kai went into the house, looking around cautiously. It was 4:00 PM, with only an hour left until he had to pick up his mother from work. Kai changed out of his school uniform into casual clothes, as he hadn't gone straight home after the training session at Mister Reginald's mansion.
With time to spare, Kai waited patiently until it was time to collect his mother. At 4:30 PM, he stood up, saying to himself, "Okay, I'll go get Mom now."
As he drove through town, Kai noticed people admiring his car. He arrived at the shopping complex, parking momentarily, and waited for his mother to emerge.
Soon, his mother's friends accompanied her out of the building. "Sophia, aren't you going to introduce us to your companion?" one friend asked, curiosity in her voice. "I saw a young man driving you to work this morning."
Sophia smiled proudly. "That's my son, Kai. He drove me to work today."
Kai's mother's friends exchanged surprised glances. "Your son? He's grown so much!" one exclaimed.
Kai's mother answered the woman, "Yes, it's my son. And as you can see, that's his car over there. He's standing right there. I can ask him to give you a ride with us."
As they talked, Kai noticed his mom chatting with someone from a distance. The person approached, revealing a woman around forty years old.
When they reached the car, Kai's mother opened the door and said, "Hi, Kai, how was your day?"
"It was fine, mum," Kai replied, getting in.
His mother's colleague, Miss Kanye, joined them.
"Kai, this is Miss Kanye, my work colleague," his mother introduced.
Kai greeted her politely, "Hello, Miss Kanye."
As Kai drove out of the parking lot, Miss Kanye asked, "So, you're still in school? What grade are you in?"
Kai checked the rearview mirror and replied, "I'm in grade eleven, my second year."
Miss Kanye nodded understandingly, "Okay, well, we all make mistakes, but we move forward and try our best."
Kai agreed, "Okay, Miss Kanye."
As they drove, Kai asked, "Miss Kanye, where do you live so I can drop you off?"
Miss Kanye provided the location, and Kai nodded, ready to drop her off.
After dropping off Miss Kanye, Kai and his mother continued their conversation.
Kai asked his mom, "How was your day?"
"It's fine, just customers," she replied. "You know how it is working in a grocery shop."
Kai smiled. "My day was full of surprises. I went to Mister Reginald's house."
His mom's curiosity piqued. "What happened?"
Kai hesitated, keeping his martial arts training private. "Just some unexpected news, mom. We have another house now, in an upscale neighborhood."
His mom's eyes widened. "Wow, Kai, that's great! Where exactly is it?"
Kai described the location, and his mom listened intently.
"When can we move in?" Kai asked.
"Maybe this weekend," his mom replied. "We can get everything ready."
Kai shared more exciting news. "Mom, we'll receive dividends from the company shares soon. Over five hundred thousand rands this month, and starting next month, two point five million rands monthly."
His mom was stunned. "So much! What company is it?"
"Mister Reginald's company," Kai explained. "He gave me shares equivalent to five hundred million rands."
Kai's mom struggled to process the information. "Our lives are going to change, aren't they?"
Kai nodded. "Yes, mom. For the better."
Kai decided not to tell his mom about the gang encounter, not wanting to worry her. They arrived home, parked the car, and opened the gate. Mister Johnson, their neighbor, greeted Kai.
"Hey Kai!"
"Hey Mister Johnson!"
Mister Johnson thought to himself, "Little brat's driving a car now. Two days ago, you did something to me... I'll find out what you did."
Kai unaware of Mister Johnson's thoughts, entered the house with his mom.
"I'm going to my room, mom," Kai said.
"Okay, I'll finish dinner," his mom replied.
In his room, Kai wondered about the SNAI training. "What is this key training?" He closed his eyes, breathed deeply, and tried to push energy out, but failed.
"Why can't I do it now? I did it during martial arts training with Mister Reginald's security team."
Kai opened his father's book on family lineage and felt a rush of energy. He swayed slightly, experiencing a heavy headache.
"Wow, this book has great power. Every time I touch it, I feel energy surging inside me."
Kai searched the book for energy transmission techniques and found instructions on refining his energy core. He tried it, placing a pen nearby.
With a deep breath, Kai pushed out his energy. The pen flew past him, hitting the wall.
Excited, Kai tried again with a ball. He threw it and pushed it with energy. The ball flew swiftly, hitting the wall with a loud thud.
"Whoa, this energy is dangerous!"
Kai realized his potential and wondered what other abilities he possessed.
Kai heard his mom calling from downstairs, "Kai, come get your food!"
"Yes, mom, I'm coming!" Kai replied.
They sat down in front of the TV, and Kai said, "Mom, now that we have money, we can do so many things. I can take you shopping this weekend, and you can get whatever you want."
His mom smiled. "I don't need new clothes, but we can look around."
Kai insisted, "Mom, you deserve a new wardrobe. We're living a different life now, a better life. Our scale of living has changed."
His mom nodded. "Yes, we did say that."
Kai continued, "Mom, people will be jealous from now on. They'll look at us differently, but we shouldn't change who we are."
His mom looked at him proudly. "Wow, you're growing up, boy. You're becoming more and more like your father."
Kai blushed. "I learned from the best, Mom β you."
His mom's eyes welled up with tears. "I'm glad I raised a great son like you."
Kai smiled. "You're the best parent I could ever have."
As they chatted, Kai shared, "Mom, there was a bully at school today."
His mom's expression turned concerned. "Kai, are you okay?"
Kai reassured her, "Yes, I'm fine. Nothing came of it. He even wanted to be my friend afterward."
His mom's face lit up. "That's great, Kai!"
They continued their warm conversation, enjoying each other's company.
Kai chatted with his mom until 10 o'clock, then said, "Mom, go to sleep. I'll stay up a bit."
His mom replied, "Okay, Kai. You get some rest too."
After finishing dinner, Kai retreated to his room, thinking, "I won't sleep now. I'll explore my powers."
Using his Family Lineage book and Power Book, Kai discovered his abilities had tripled:
1. Floating in the air
2. Mind domination
3. Moving obstacles
4. Instant memorization
5. Ultra focus
6. Proficiency in math
7. Mastery of multiple languages
Just then, Kai's phone rang. It was Patience, Mister Reginald's daughter.
"Hi, Kai. Sorry to call so late," Patience said.
"No worries," Kai replied.
"I need a favor," Patience continued. "Can you escort me somewhere tomorrow after school?"
"Of course," Kai agreed.
"Can you come with your car?" Patience asked.
"Yes, that's fine," Kai said.
"Great. Dress nicely. We'll leave at 7 PM. I'll give you the venue details then."
"Sounds good," Kai said. "I'll tell my mom, and I'll pick you up tomorrow."
"Thanks, Kai. Have a nice rest," Patience said.
"You too, Patience," Kai replied.
