Chapter 9 - 9 Shopping spree frenzy

Kai handed Mike a mirror. "Check your face, bro."

Mike took the mirror, eyes widening in shock. "Wow, bro! I swear my face wasn't this swollen."

Kai nodded. "Exactly, bro. It didn't look like this before."

Mike's gaze locked onto his reflection, studying the bruises. "Bro, isn't it weird? You put your hand on my face with that cloth, and the bruises just... disappeared. You have healing powers, bro!"

Kai brushed it off. "Nah, bro. Can't be. I don't have healing powers."

Mike insisted, "You saw it, bro! You did it! Maybe it's just one of those weird things, but I never expected it."

Kai's expression turned uneasy, unsure how to explain the sudden healing.

Kai joked, "Healing powers, who knew? Check out these miraculous hands!" They shared a laugh.

"Come on, bro, let's finish up and head to town," Kai said. "We'll swing by my house, grab a taxi, and hit the shops before they close at six."

Mike agreed, and they wrapped up at Mike's place. They took a Quantum taxi to Kai's house, then headed to the town.

As they entered town, the vibrant atmosphere enveloped them. Colorful billboards and neon signs illuminated the streets. The taxi drove past bustling sidewalks, lined with vendors and shoppers.

Upon arriving at the mall, Kai led Mike to the most expensive store. Mike's eyes widened. "Bro, this is luxury shopping! Are you sure you can afford this?"

Kai smiled. "Don't worry, bro. Today's on me."

Mike hesitated, but Kai's confidence put him at ease. They browsed the racks, selecting high-end clothing. T-shirts exceeded 1,000 rand, and jeans started at 1,500 rand.

Mike carefully chose a few items, while Kai splurged on multiple outfits. At the checkout, Mike's skepticism returned. "Kai, how are you affording this?"

Kai just grinned. "Consider it a celebration, bro."

As they shopped, whispers and glances followed them. An older man, around thirty, approached Kai.

"Young man, can you really afford this?" he asked, eyeing their selections. "These clothes add up to over 40,000 rand. Don't embarrass yourself. Just take three or four."

Kai met his gaze. "Sir, it's none of your business what we can or can't afford."

The man persisted, "I'm just trying to help. You're putting on an act, and it's disrespectful. Don't set yourself up for public humiliation."

Kai firmly replied, "We've got this. Please leave us alone."

The man warned, "Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you," and walked away.

At the checkout, the teller asked, "Sir, do you want to buy all of this?"

Kai nodded. "Yes, everything."

The teller calculated, "That's 45,000 rand."

Mike's eyes widened. "Bro, maybe we should put some back. This is way more than we planned."

Kai reassured him, "Relax, bro. I've got this."

Kai pulled out a black card and handed it to the teller. "We'll take card payment."

The teller's eyes widened as she took the card. "Wow, a black card! This is... impressive."

The onlookers, who had initially judged Kai and Mike as poor kids, now stared in shock.

The card machine beeped "Approved," and the crowd murmured in amazement.

The man who had tried to embarrass Kai earlier looked humiliated, thinking to himself, "If only I hadn't spoken up, we could've been friends."

Mike's eyes were wide with wonder. "Bro, you're loaded! I could barely get 1,500 rand as pocket money, and you just dropped 45,000 rand like it's nothing!"

Kai shrugged. "It's nothing, bro. Let's go. We have more shopping to do."

As they prepared to leave, the manager approached Kai. "Young man, did you just spend 45,000 rand here?"

Kai nodded. "Yes, why?"

The manager smiled. "I'm the store manager. Here's a VIP card, offering 20-30% discounts on future purchases. Just swipe this card at checkout."

The crowd gasped in awe.

After leaving the previous store, Mike bombarded Kai with questions. "Bro, how did you get so much money? You're loaded!"

Kai downplayed it. "It's nothing, bro. Just some deeds I did, and someone rewarded me."

this somebody give me more than Two hundred thousand rand.

Mike's eyes widened. "Two hundred thousand rand? That's insane, bro! You're loaded!"

Kai chuckled. "Keep it down, bro. I Don't want everyone to know and try to befriend me just for my money. Let's hit the jewelry shop, then shoes, and electronics. Today's a shopping spree!"

At the shoe store, they entered a sleek, modern space filled with renowned South African brands. Glass shelves displayed stylish footwear, with prices to match: 1,500 rand for the cheapest pair, 2,500 rand, 3,500 rand, and a staggering 6,500 rand for the most expensive.

Mike hesitated. "Bro, isn't this excessive spending?"

Kai reassured him. "Remember, today's shopping day. No worries, bro. We can buy whatever we want. We could even buy this whole shop!"

Onlookers snickered, overhearing Kai's bold statement. "Look at that arrogant kid... Thinks he can buy the whole shop... Doesn't he know this place rakes in 1.5 million rand monthly?" This shop Can be Bought with 50 million rand not petty cash .

Kai ignored the whispers, unfazed.

Kai and Mike continued their shopping spree, accumulating over ten boxes of shoes and merchandise. Mike expressed concerns, "Bro, isn't this enough? We can't carry much more."

Kai grinned mischievously. "Take and you shall take, bro!"

At the tailor, they received the same astonished reactions as before. People whispered, "Look at them, buying so much!"

Kai confidently approached the counter. "Do you have card payments?"

The tailor nodded. "Yes, sir."

The total came to 35,000 rand. Onlookers were stunned.

"One guy comes in and buys everything at once – 30,000 rand! We struggle to afford 3,000 to 6,000 rand," someone murmured.

Mike thanked Kai again. "Bro, you're spoiling me. I've never spent like this."

Kai shrugged. "It's nothing, bro. Enjoy the ride."

As Kai and Mike entered the opulent jewelry shop, they were surrounded by glittering diamonds, gleaming gold, and sleek designer watches. The store's interior shimmered with crystal chandeliers, polished marble floors, and velvet-lined display cases.

Ranks of sparkling necklaces, elegant earrings, and majestic rings stretched before them. Mike's eyes widened as Kai asked, "What jewelry catches your eye, bro?"

Mike hesitated, "Anything over 3,000 rand is fine, bro."

Kai grinned. "Take whatever you want, then!"

They browsed the showcases, selecting:

- Four watches for Mike, including a 12,000-rand limited edition

- Two watches for Kai, totaling 18,000 rand

- Three necklaces, adorned with diamonds and sapphires

- Three rings, including a 7,000-rand platinum masterpiece

At the checkout, the teller's eyes bulged. "Sir, you want all of this?"

Kai nodded. "Yes, we'll take everything."

The shop fell silent, with onlookers agog at the sheer scale of their purchase. "These young boys are buying up the store!"

The total: 75,000 rand.

The teller stuttered, "Would you...like to pay by card, sir?"

Kai produced his black card, and the transaction processed seamlessly.

As they left, Mike whispered, "Bro, this is insane! You're spoiling me rotten!"

Kai chuckled. "Just enjoying the day, bro."

As they left the jewelry shop, Mike turned to Kai, grinning. "Bro, I've never spent like this before! Thanks for the crazy shopping spree!"

Kai chuckled. "We're not done yet! Next stop, electronics!"

They strolled down the upscale shopping district, window-shopping and laughing. Five minutes later, they arrived at "Tech Haven," a sleek electronics store.

Inside, they were surrounded by cutting-edge gadgets and gleaming screens. The sales representative, dressed in a crisp suit, approached them.

"Welcome, gentlemen! How may I assist you?"

Kai smiled. "We'll take a few things. Show us your best phones, laptops, and smartwatches."

The representative's eyes lit up. "Right this way, sir!"

They browsed the latest models:

_Phones:_

The representative's jaw dropped. "Sir, would you like to proceed with these purchases?"

Kai nodded. "Yes, we'll take all of these."

Mike's eyes widened. "Bro, this is insane! You're really splurging today!"

Kai chuckled. "Just getting what we need, bro."

The representative processed the transaction, his fingers flying across the keyboard. "That'll be 120,000 rand, sir."

Kai handed over his black card, and the payment processed seamlessly.

As they left the store, laden with bags and boxes, Mike turned to Kai. "Bro, I don't know how to thank you. You're the best friend ever!"

Kai grinned. "Just enjoying the day, bro. We deserve it."

As they left Tech Haven, Kai and Mike decided to cap off their shopping spree with a visit to Prestige Motors, an upscale car dealership.

Walking onto the polished showroom floor, they were greeted by sleek, high-end vehicles. A sales representative, dressed in a tailored suit, approached them.

"Welcome to Prestige Motors! How can I assist you gentlemen today?"

Just as they began browsing, a tall, muscular figure emerged from the shadows. His name tag read "Reggie," and his demeanor screamed trouble.

Well, well, well, look what we got here," Reggie sneered, eyeing Kai and Mike's shopping bags. "The dynamic duo of wannabes, thinking they can afford the big leagues."

Kai's expression remained calm, but Mike's eyes narrowed.

"What's your problem, Reggie?" Mike asked.

Reggie snorted. "You two think you belong here? Please. You're just posers trying to keep up appearances."

Kai's gaze locked onto Reggie's, his eyes glinting with a hint of amusement.

"Reggie, you don't know who we are or what we've done today," Kai said, his voice low and even.

Reggie snickered. "Oh, I'm shaking in my boots. Do tell."

Kai's smile grew wider. "Let's just say we've had an...eventful day."

Reggie took a step closer, his face inches from Kai's.

"I don't care about your pathetic attempts at being rich. You're nothing but pretenders."

Mike's fists clenched, ready to defend his friend.

But Kai remained unfazed, his eyes never leaving Reggie's.

The air thickened with tension as Reggie's mockery hung in the air.
