Sebastian stood outside the cemetery a little longer before walking towards the forest that was opposite the cemetery. "Hunting for this short while won't be bad" he said to himself as he ventured into the thick forest. The forest was dark due to the cloudy weather and the grounds were slippery. It had been long he tasted what his kind craved so much and decided to use this short time to hunt instead of just standing under the rain doing nothing. The king was a rare creature and not just a creature that craved blood. This was know by only Father Roberts and Benjamin. He kept on going forward because he had not seen any animal yet. They had all probably gone in hiding because of the gloomy weather.
Mrs Nolan and Mirabelle left the cemetery without making it too obvious. Mrs Nolan turned around looking for a suitable spot her daughter could pee. Opposite them was a thick forest that was dark due to the long trees that towered and the weather. She sighed because she didn't like the look of the forest but she had no other choice. They went across to the forest and ventured in till Mrs Nolan saw a spot where they won't be spotted by passerbys. "Ease here" Her mother ordered as she turned away from her daughter to allow her pee.
Sebastian was still venturing deep and was getting a little bored because his nose hadn't picked up a scent of an animal. He was about to give up and return to the burial when an unfortunate deer came walking by. A smile broke out on Sebastian's face and he was about to go for the deer when he peculiar scent of blood reached his nose drawing his attention back. "Ouch!" Mirabelle exclaimed as a protruding broken branch of a short tree pierced her arm, causing an injury. Blood slowly steeped from it and Mrs Nolan turned around to her daughter and saw her bleeding hand. "How did you hurt yourself Mirabelle?!" The woman asked worried. Mirabelle was about to explain when her mother said "Don't worry. Just stay right here. I'd find a herb to stop it from bleeding". "Don't move Mirabelle" Her mother warned again before walking away in search of a particular herb that could stop her daughter's bleeding. She took a stone and marked the trees so she'd know her way back.
Unbeknownst to the mother and daughter, a pair of silver eyes was watching them intently. The bloodlust had shot up in his body and he wouldn't rest till he tasted that peculiar blood he just perceived. The blood had a special scent, he had never perceived any like it. Mirabelle had finished relieving herself when she felt a gust of wind pass her back. She knew it wasn't the normal wind that blew while the rain was pouring down because this one came with a lot of force and it made her body hairs stand on end. "Who's there?" Came Mirabelle's gentle voice. The gust of wind was followed by careful and slow footsteps. Mirabelle bent down, in search for anything she could use to defend herself. She couldn't see so most of the time she ended up picking debris but she didn't give up until her hand touched a big stone. Though she was fragile, it was something she could carry. She held the stone tightly in hope to defend herself from whatever was lingering behind her. Sebastian had smelt her blood and saw when her mother was leaving, but from the distance he was, he couldn't pick out their faces till he got closer. Standing right behind her now, Sebastian grinned realizing it was Mr Nolan's daughter. "This innocent creature" he thought. It was peculiar for him to call her an innocent creature because he had never tagged any human as "innocent". He left her back and stood right in front of her and the next thing that happened shocked him. A stone hitting his forehead with full force. "Don't come close" Mirabelle warned.
Sebastian felt a slight pain from the stone she hit him with and in seconds, the pain dissipated. He stared at the human girl with intrigue in his eyes. She was blind wasn't she?.
Sebastian's eyes trailed from her wet hair down to her dress which had hugged her body due to the drenching from the rain. His eyes lingered on her body before it settled on her bleeding arm. The rain was washing away the blood but it was still bleeding. He wanted to sink his teeth into her soft flesh but he changed his mind.
He walked closer to her and before she could take a step back, he caught her by her arm. Mirabelle, still unaware of what or who it was said "You're human." After she felt his hand grip her. "Let me go please" she said as she tried releasing herself from his grip but it was futile. Sebastian hadn't said a word to her yet because he was intrigued by the human girl and wanted to see where all this would lead to. He held her injured arm and gently caressed it sending shivers down Mirabelle's spine. "What are you doing? Are you thinking of doing an uncouth thing? Don't you dare!" Mirabelle said as she felt him rubbing her arm gently. Sebastian even found his own actions strange, he was actually being gentle with a human girl!. But since the moment he laid eyes on her, there was just something that gripped him, that pulled his attention. Staring into her blind eyes, he wondered what it would look like without the scale like things covering it. This girl appeared strong and fearless though she was blind. She didn't act weak and that amazed him.
