As Idrus pulled up in front of the apartment complex, she didn't bother waiting for him to come out and help her open the car door like he usually did. Lost in her thoughts, she opened the door herself and stepped outside. The strange voice that had spoken to her earlier still echoed in her mind, distracting her from Idrus calling out to her.
"My love, are you even listening to me?" Idrus asked, standing in front of her by the car's hood.
Suddenly, Iridessa felt someone shaking her. She looked up to see the concern in Idrus' eyes, and tears welled up as she feared her hallucinations were returning once more.
